I was so impressed with the quality for $17 I clicked the link for this and it's "discontinued" so I scrolled down and found it for $14. Best $14 knife I've ever owned

You can compete brother! People will pay extra for the workmanship you put into a better looking knife. I’ve seen this same problem pop up with cheap versions of professional throwing knives. Yes the cheap ones work great but the expensive ones look and feel better and you know you’re supporting a good person.

I bought the Ka-Bar Becker BK-18 from Temu for $27. I have not beat it up like you did but the knife and sheath are excellent so far, and now they are $24. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for this video, I purchased this knife off of Temu not even knowing about the gerber knife. I was looking for a bushcraft knife and thought this might work. I was hesitant after receiving it because there was no way for me to test it to see if it was really a good steel or not, well now I know.

Same as you - I purchased this knife off TEMU too, albeit the khaki coloured one. Then, whilst looking at the Heinnie Haynes catalogue, as I often do, I happened upon the same knife. Apart from the logo not being on the knife nor the sheath, the TEMU knife was identical to the Gerber Strongarm , even down to the box it came in being exactly the same, again, apart from the Gerber logo! The only real difference, of course, was the price. The Strongarm being around £80 - 85 whereas the TEMU one was only £19.

Impressive. The one I purchased is a decent quality knife. Holds a good edge. I paid $32.00 for two of those knives and gave one to my friend who used it for his field knife, no complaints about it, it holds up. I was surprised that for the price it actually is a good knife. The Scabbard is easy to make it fit tighter on its locking to hold the blade.

Wonder about the edge retention. I've tested some counterfeits that a guy gave me (Spydercos) to train regrinding on. The steel was pure butter. No frickin edge retention

My results were the same man, I jumped on amazon to buy a mora, and somehow I stumbled upon this via a add for temu, when I innevitably got side tracked, decided I had to know and bought it (also bought a couple extra moras, and another bradford from amazon, bc I have a problem and terrible impulse control) anyway, I expected a piece of junk and immediate failure...it now rides in my truck and I abuse it on the construction site regularly for the last 6 months, it won't break and im kinda mad about it...I dont own the real one, but id be interested to see how they compare

That sigh when you realised China can create a knife adequate for the majority of users for less than $20....
People will always value a handmade item and treasure it though, no one would be torture testing a knife that you've created with care and heart even if it would withstand it.
Something personal like tgat gets cared for and used in a respectful manner
Thanks for showing us how tough a cheap knife can be though!

      Very well said.
I also am very reluctant to support ANYTHING that comes out of China, but when they do get it right with a product, it's hard to say 'no'. Our economy has been utterly destroyed by Dementia Joe, and that means a great many of us are forced to accept goods of lesser quality, based on price alone. I hate to say it, but I'm going to buy the best I can afford, and that...unfortunately...means buying Chinese stuff. Sometimes.

In my opinion, the majority of goods purchased from China are usually quite inferior to the real thing. In this case, however, the choice is clear, based on what I just saw. So let me ask all of you this: If you DO manage to break this knife somehow, you would be out only about $17 or so, compared to the real deal, which hovers around $90. Understand what I mean?

I found the best deal this last week...
I just bought one of those Esee CR2.5 clones from Amazon for $23 ....I gotta say its one of the best blades I've purchased in awhile. Hands down the sheath and knife feel like a Tops .
It has zero blade rattle, awesome retention, excellent micarta scales and D53 STEEL a variant of D2 but better. It was hair popping sharp out of box.
I love USA made blades and I will spend the money for them but I highly recommend getting one of these clones. They come in 3 different color styles, they also have an Izzula2 clone which I'm getting now after seeing their Cr2.5 one.
They are not exact copies the sheaths imho are better plus the steel they use is 14C28N on the Izzula2.
Forn$24 to $35 for both blades it's the best deal I've ever seen for the quality you get.
