I have a financial calculator and I prefer to do this by hand to grasp the foundation of bond price calculation. Thanks Professor. I am now subscribed to your channel
thank you sir for explaining it so well, I really appreciate it. this video helped me a lot with my struggle on how to calculate the bond price in my report HAHAHAHAHA again thank youuuuuu sir!
You are welcome. Thank you for your kind comment and question. Are you asking why the formula works? I'll have to do a video on that. I'd love for you to become a subscriber.
Good evening Prof. Am actually enjoying your lectures . But Prof. Where I have problem is the semi annual calculation of bonds and the settlement date and maturity date. Please can you kindly help me with more videos of examples of them please?
It is very helpful. Thank you! How do you calculate the price of bonds, if you do not have Yield to Maturity? The question only has "Face Value", "Maturity" and "Coupon". Find the prices for the following coupon bonds : • Face value: $100
Maturity Coupon Bond A 3 1.75% Bond B 7 2.875% Bond C 10 3.250%
Can you give me an example of the problem? Usually you will be given another piece of information. Or it is presumed to be a $1,000 face value. I can't really answer without more information or an example.
If you aren't great at Algebra, I recommend you use a financial calculator. I show how to do that in this video: th-cam.com/video/E72Ju52Eu5E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5srHxd1OKUFJ9P2n
Thank you for explaining very clearly especially to those without a financial calculator, this would be a big help.

what if the question dont give a face value amount - how do you go about finding the bond
Can you give me an example of the problem? Usually you will be given another piece of information. Or it is presumed to be a $1,000 face value. I can't really answer without more information or an example.
where can i send the example
Professorcapko@gmail.com
I send you some tips on how to solve that problem. I hope you found them helpful.
Is there a short calculation because it is so lengthy comparing with other calculation try to recommend new short calculation
The only real short cut would be to use a financial calculator. I have a couple videos showing how to do it with one of those.
for those of us that dont know algebra, can we have an explanation?
