@@ProfessorCapko Yes I ended up figuring it out shortly after it was quite easy actually thank you just needed some more practice with the calc appreciate the help :)
You are welcome and thank you for your comment and question. The positives and negatives with regard to bond calculations merely indicate the direction the money is flowing. So if you entered the original numbers as positive, that would indicate a cash flow to you. Negative would be a cash flow you are paying out. It is ok if you get them backward, just as long as you understand which direction the cash is flowing. I hope that helps.
Hi, Thank you for the video. I did the same steps as you showed but I didn't get the answer 745.14. It showed in my financial calculator is 1,820.12. Why? I appreciate it if you could advise me. Thank you so much.
I cleared my calculator and followed the steps, but I keep getting 727.8. I just bought this calculator, are there any settings I have to turn on or anything?
@joannapaul1605 Here is a link to a video I prepared for you answering your question on how to calculate bond prices using Excel: th-cam.com/video/ChTZ2u31ItE/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you find that helpful.
Followed all steps but After hitting cpt and PV button in first example, my screen is going blank and not switching on even after pressing on/off button?
Thank you for your question, Zach. Here is a video that I made that shows you how to easily calculate it with semi annual interest payment: th-cam.com/video/hKxyWUyVkeY/w-d-xo.html
One comment I would at the end of this video for the negative sign for someone who is not familiar. Why negative sign? Since we are buying a bond, a negative value indicates that this is a outflow cashflow. Hence a negative result.
so bassacily you will make 250$ off the bond in 20y but you will make 1000$ from the 50$ paymentsx20y. for a total of 1250$....however because it is a loan to the gov it will show up as you recieving 2000$ and you current payout today will be 750$...thats all i needed to hear
This video could have been 1 minute long. Way too much set up. Need straight to point just exactly what buttons to press on calculator Literally video didn't really start until minute 3 and so much extra word jumbles.

Request for relative value bonds video.
I'd be happy to made one. That is a broad request. Would you please give me an example problem or question you want me to cover?
Why is my calculator giving RST ? As the answer when I try calculating irr
I believe the RST error indicates a low battery.

using excel?
Thank you for your comment. I can. I'll create a video on it and post a link here when it is ready.
@@ProfessorCapko Thank you. I am also looking for questions related to yield to maturity of the bond. Your previous explanation was very helpful.

That is strange. Maybe it is low on power.
When I typed it correctly and followed it got -1,173.70?
What if its semi annual interest?
