  • Fast and Furious Gone Wrong! Car Stuck Under Trailer! This is what happens when you let your intrusive thoughts win. In reality, almost all of these accidents are caused by excessive speed and not paying attention. Luckily the driver lived, again a testament to how modern cars are designed to protect the drivers.
    The trailer was empty, which is very very rare for me. This made it incredibly easy for me to use Hulk, my 2020 50ton rotator, to lift the rear up high enough to get the car unstuck. The front was still wedged with the landing gear, so I used an auxiliary line to winch it back, and once free the local company took over. Shout out to Priority One Towing for being super helpful on this one and working quick to get the freeway open.
    Don't forget to head to www.pepestowla.com/shop after the video and grab your cool Pepe's swag to represent your favorite tow company!

    I don’t know if people realize what these wrecker drivers have to deal with daily, I drove semi for close to 40 yrs and that put me in contact with accidents more times than I could count but these guys do it daily and the police and fire employees have regular grief counseling available but not so for these wrecker operators and it does catch up to them over time, just wanted to point that out and give them a shout out for what they deal with daily

    It is very nice seeing that, although a different company got the call to tow the wrecked car, both of you worked the scene seamlessly to get it cleared as quickly and safely as possible. The shots show the major difference a rotator makes in minimizing lanes to be closed and also (for those who were listening to what you said during the planning part) knowing how much weight you were dealing with (an empty trailer) where and how to lift the unit to get the car out. BTW, cool trick using your aux. line to pull the car back for the flatbed to get at the front with ease.

Rare to break 30,000. Did your mother teach you to just lie like that? And lmfao 400k? A new rotator is 700k starting now. You couldn’t get a decent used heavy 50ton wrecker for 400k

We should rebuild every loading dock in the country, which are part of the structure of the building by the way, so we can lower the trailers? Makes perfect sense. You’d be surprised, a ton of other companies here shut it down. They’ll back up to stuff like this even with a rotator. My dad has always worked by the rule only shut down as many lanes as you really need. I do the same, and with my rotators, we can keep a ton of traffic flowing while still easily doing our work

    • @justaskin8523
      @justaskin8523 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@PepesTowingService Nice video work, really. I hate to criticize, but this lift kind of freaked me out for all your safety.
      First off, I know enough about Cali traffic that I don't like how traffic was driving in the lane right next to your truck, WHILE YOU HAD A HEAVY LIFT IN PROGRESS and WHILE YOU HAD PEOPLE UNDER THE LIFT. OMG, OMG, OMG!
      Just because you can do it without closing the lane next to you, does that mean you should? Y'all don't have to he-man this (or "hulk it") to impress us. We're impressed already, so you just need to get everybody home safe at the end of the day.
      All it would take is some drunk, dozing off, or a seizuring diabetic driver to have an episode and sideswipe or rear-end "The Hulk" at high speed (even during 35 MPH rush hour), and you could have had, worst case scenario, three crushed people at one point during that lift. That trailer had super low clearance. Some of y'all would have gotten hurt because you were crouching, not laying flat. Maybe got hurt bad even if the load had landed level during a failed lift. And we all know they never fall sideways when they fail, do they? 🤨
      I know the trailer was empty, and therefore was a light lift. I know your equipment is rated for far more than the lift you did on this day. I know odds don't favor a catastrophic failure during a light lift like this, but man oh man, my friend...you're just holding the damned thing in mid-air with cables, hooks, really really small bolts, belts, and other potential single-source-failure points, not the hand of God!
      As I said, nice camera work, and a great job too. But don't ever let 100% of the onsite people who could have potentially made an emergency second lift happen...all get trapped under the first lift...yikes!
      And I'd go one step further, and see if I could figure out a way to make all the sh!t that needs to happen during the lift (like hooking up the cable to drag that busted-ass car out from under the trailer)...happen FAST once the load is in the air. In my opinion, y'all were a little bit leisurely crawling around and crouching under that trailer. And also walking leisurely back and forth next to the load while it was just dangling there blowing in the wind.
      This is dangerous stuff you and your crew are doing. Be safe!

    • @PepesTowingService
      @PepesTowingService  ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I imagine people like you live permanently inside and are too scared to ever step foot in the real world. The trailer has wheels and is connected to the tractor. Even without the car it has the same amount of clearance underneath. And it’s easy to downplay the rigging but your rigging should NEVER fail when used right. The weakest point in all my rigging is a 12ton (24,000lb) shackle and I had TWO of them. Rigging doesn’t just fail. People are so used to seeing crappy tv shows where abused equipment run by clowns fails on them. In this case, I have higher odds winning the lottery than my cable just pulling a final destination and snapping. My stuff gets checked regularly and I over rig. As for the traffic, valid point. But how many videos have you seen where a driver rear ends a car or tow truck WITH lanes closed. Happens a ton, unless I shut the entire freeway down you can’t avoid it 100%. There’s a reason not everyone can do this job.
