Theres not many things that leave a bad taste in my mouth, but when a mate compares present mate with an ex mate, the taste doesn't dissipate. Just sayin. I love the tune, the arrangement, the vocals, the power, of Dan's song. Nobody brings it on home like Dan does.

The Dan Vasc version "My Mother Told Me" is good but I feel the Saltatio Mortis version is much better. It has a more involved video involving a representation of Holmgang, the Norse method of settling personal disagreements and they perform it in Icelandic.
Copied. I use this function all the time to share. Only Dan could take a fragment of an old sea shanty, arrange it in a bunch of different ways, and make it epic. Some of his lowest notes are in this video - all Dan vocals. (I think his very lowest notes are in The Rains of Castamere. It’s very low, really out of the range where he can put any power behind it, but still impressive.) Thanks for another great reaction. I always enjoy hearing your thoughts. Edited to add a suggestion I may have made before - Dan and Rob Lundgren doing an Avantasia cover, Reach out for the Light. It’s wild and noisy and great, and they’re both showing off like crazy. 😊
Thank you for the copy. I always felt the power of 'Rains' was in the meaning behind the song. An entire house wiped out and there's no description of what happened but only the aftermath. Dan using the power of that sentiment in his voice which I felt he did here. I'd love to check out that cover with Lundgren! Thank you for that!
