Those ground effect cars of the time were amazing the way it seems they glued into the ground was crazy, I wish to watch some footage of my buddy Poncho Toledano on the previous years.

don't hear much about byrne !! I just heard just a few days ago !!! & am from northern Ireland , & he is from the south Ireland , very interesting upload !! & from what I heard about byrne , he would have been the best f1 driver ever , but he was to hot headed out of the car !! that's why he did not get a full f1 drive ???

He was senna's biggest rival in the early days of his career.

Byrne was the man. As was Adam Carroll, as was Martin Donnelly. They just didn't get the rub of the green. I hope Alex Dunne can at least get to the heights that Watson and Irvine achieved.

Pity Tommy was such a bell-end.

He wasn't really though, just a little cocky to compensate for his lack of money. Guys like Bellof were cocky too.

@@CnimailRespectfully .. I have to disagree. He was a dreadful egit. He could have had a great career but he was too arrogant to listen to the advice of people who knew better.

@@3storiesUp You say that, but it seemed to me when I saw footage of him that he really was just trying to punch above his weight, which he could've done had F1 been more accepting. He said on Beyond The Grid that he got along well with Theodore staff, the only problem was the team manager, Jo Ramirez, who refused to pay him and told him that if Keke Rosberg drove the Theodore TY02 it'd be on pole, which was bollocks. He also said on that podcast that Jan Lammers, the driver who was at Theodore before him was a very good driver.
He works at an advanced driving school for racing now, and all of the other workers claim he's a nice guy. Remove his desparation to show his undeniable talent in the big leagues and you have a nice chap, but Theodore and Jo Ramirez only wanted to exploit him, which would leave anyone a little ticked off.
