These guys where way ahead of there time... Think of all the gamers we watch today and have legitimate careers playing and showing us tricks/cheats on video games.. This was way before twitch, kick, TH-cam etc Respect!
Recently picked up two sealed copies for $20 each, one for me, one for my brother. We watched this tape over and over as kids. Looking back, would have just been easier to write the codes down, lol! Thanks for the upload, now I don't have to open my sealed copy.
Gradius was the first game to use the Konami code. The programmer put it in because he couldn’t beat the game without help when it came time to test for bugs, and then he never took the code out before the game went into production.
So happy that I found this! Must have rented it at least 10 times! Lol! I forgot that they used to have a US olympic style team of video game geeks lol
This makes me sad regarding TotalBiscuit's passing. Back when this video was made , any old schlub could narrate a video game hints. Now, we have TH-cam to provide a little better curation and talent. One of the best ends up succombing to cancer.... thank you for the upload though. PS: Rip Etika too.
This tape is awesome because of nostalgia and all that. Love it! But man what a horrible video game tips and tricks tape lol. At one point they just show random double dragon footage for like 15 minutes lol. At other points the dudes like "here's how to beat the level 3 boss" or whatever and then proceeds to die like 3 times with no strategy lol. Hell yeah U.S. video game team. Who would have expected more from a team walter day ran? 10/10 would watch again though lol
Not so secret now, are they.. Also, the only code I ever needed was the coffee one from GTA ;) My console of choice is (of course) SNES (never owned one of those either). FFIV, FFV, FFVI... which I played on emulator decades after their release. FFV is the best Final Fantasy, no matter what console. If you disagree, you are wrong. Well, FFVII & FFVIII on PS1 would maybe tie, but that could be nostalgia talking. Cheers! Also my wife is happy Seahawks made the playoffs (no, I don't know why she supports them out of all the teams and it's not like they're gonna beat 49ers next weekend). What NFL team does one support in Oregon; Washington is close enough isn't it? (What team do you follow, if any?) My Broncos finally won a game, yay (I didn't watch it, we only watched the Seahawks game and Lions - Packers) Wait this isn't my diary?
Yeah - most people around here tend to root for the Seahawks since Oregon doesn't have an NFL team. Oregon gets much more excited about the college teams (The Oregon Ducks and the Oregon Beavers....super tough sounding names :D ).

I had this tape when I was a kid. I love how some of them are actual tricks, and some are “to beat the boss, shoot it until it dies.”
I wish I knew what the cover to this tape looked like. I found it loose.

I remember this well. The theme song is eerily similar to the theme from "Child's Play 3".
I like how none of this needed to be a video and the konami code is in there twice.
