My gosh, Olivia! What a trek you and Matt undertook. Miles of hills, streets, trails, paths, and the bridge! Crazy! I used to visit SF often when I was younger, but I usually had my car and drove place to place. Parking was easier and safer then. My wife and I lived there 2006-2008. We never walked as much. I stand in admiration and amazement! Fun tour through your eyes. Thanks!

Thank you so much! 😊 Haha, yeah, parking was the main reason we only rented a car for Napa Valley and skipped it for SF! But we really enjoy walking and hiking, so it worked out pretty well! Glad to hear you enjoyed the tour! 💚🌄 🌉

...hey Olive, you've got quite an upbeat experience of SF (1st day)... 🌉
I was a bit nervous about watching this, as it brought up memories of my own SF experience 7 years ago, where my then-partner and I stopped over on our way from Monterrey Bay to Napa Valley, and it wasn't that great to be honest... we parked somewhere in the middle of the skyscraper district, which I didn't really enjoy... then we took the tram to Fisherman's Wharf (which was fun!) and explored Pier 39... apart from the amazing sea lions it was very crowded and earsplitting loud... we were really stressed by it, and glad to leave again eventually...
from there we went back to the car and crossed the famous bridge into Marin County, which was much more 'my thing' 😎 However of course your trip had different highlights, like the bridge viewpoints and the palace of fine arts, which I saw now for the first time - I would have loved to see it!
I'm glad that I watched this, as it diminished my own memories a bit, and showed some more charming parts of the city! 💖

      Hello Jorn! 👋
When you mentioned Napa Valley in the previous comments, I had a feeling San Francisco might bring back a few memories as well...
I took the tram and explored the central area the next day. 🚋🏙 I really enjoyed Pier 39 for the short time we were there, though I totally understand why you didn’t… it’s definitely touristy and can get overwhelming. I assume you didn’t get the chance to visit Alcatraz? That was definitely a highlight for me, along with the viewpoints over the bridge. 🌉
I’m glad to hear the video showed you some more parts of the city and hopefully added a new perspective! 📸🏛🌄🌊

@@oliviaelenat thanks Olive 💖 ...to be fair towards SF: we only stayed a few hours there, and I didn't research anything before, as my partner had been there many times, and was in the lead... I'm sure with more time and some research it could have been a much better experience... also: from what I saw: the day you were at Pier 39 was much more quiet, than when we were there. And we didn't take the trip to Alcatraz... so: I'm not really judging SF from what I saw... I think from what I know through media: that city has its light & shadow sides (of course), depending on what you focus on, or which districts you explore... ☯🙂

@@jornspirit That’s a good point, and SF definitely has its layers! I like to focus on the good side of places in my videos, at least for now, giving that traveler’s perspective rather than diving into deeper issues. But I do watch documentary-style videos with a more in-depth journalistic approach as well, and it's always good to see all perspectives. ☯
