The US version turned 19 last month. The show is still on the air, but it was at its peak in primetime with Regis Philbin as the host. The money tree now is a bit different, and it's gone through a few different hosts as well.
In the UK we changed the money tree and introduced the countdown clock, but now it's back to the original format.
Hopefully in the 20th anniversary, it would revert to the latest UK format with a new UK set

Man, I wish the US version didn't go to shit. I love the dramatic classic theme and music the show had before. They should make a replica set of the UK one. It looks badass.
When the US Millionaire has that kind of version like the UK Millionaire has, with the old music and Ask the Host music/lifeline, then I'll watch it. This one they have had since late 2010 and changed shapes of questions and font styles, really makes it difficult to watch.

I always suspected that one. Meredith kept saying, Wouldn't it be great if a teacher won the million dollars? (from the beginning, and on every question) I half believe it was staged!

The question in the 20th minute re Escoffier was also posed to a pilot, about whom we wrote in BAD SHOW. He got it wrong, plumping for an option which was not posed by Clarkson: Mountaineering.
I didn't agree with all the opinions in Bad Show, but I did think it was a good read. That's when a reader knows a book is very well written, if they still want to read when the views in it differ from their own.
