I would argue Mario Odyssey is more linear than botw due to the linear world map and how the game pushes you to move on more than Breath of the Wild.

I actually liked that each world had its own art style. It helped make each one more memorable. And we've already had plenty of Mario games that looked like Mario games.
Right? They all looked different and diverse and unique, and yet you never felt like they were worlds from different games.
Well, it helped to have the context of travelling around the world. Before the game's release, I assumed that Mario was dimension-hopping, especially when looking at the Luncheon Kingdom.

Speaking about A sequel to Odyssey, what if the plot of it is to save Bowser from being married to the Mama Broodal? I know it sounds strange, but Bowser could not of read the fine print of the Broodal's contract? Ya never know what Nintendo might do.

Actually, what about some sort of spinoff DLC where you play as Peach or something? I feel like that would work pretty well because of the whole ending/postgame.
That would be a better concept if the Broodals themselves were more interesting imo. I just didn't care about them at all.
I mean, as fun as that might be, I feel like it'd muddle the main series vision of Bowser. In the RPG's, yeah, he's a big goofus who probably wouldn't read the fine print. But in the main series starting with Galaxy, they've started to turn him into a more menacing character with a penchant for wholesale showmanship in this destruction and evil... when he can get away with it. When Mario's around, he doesn't go too fancy, knowing it might leave him open. But when the Red Flame's not as involved in the main picture... well, the Star Festival in Galaxy and the wedding in Odyssey are perfect examples.

There are actually 999 moons. After you get all the moons you got, you can buy the rest with coins at the stores.
Well, you can actually buy even more after you get 999, just that they don’t count on the Odyssey moon counter.

Idk how I feel about that, it might be easy like Mario's transition. But they would have to change some of the copy ability movesets.
Odyssey is such an amazing game. Definitely one of the best Mario games we had in quite an long time. Like since the Galaxy games & Bowser's Inside Story. Mario has been through an rough time better 2011-2016. I'm not saying games like 3D Land or 3D World are bad during those times. But they didn't live up to there expectation as most Mario games do & they were plain forgettable & dull. Odyssey just puts a smile in my face & it certainly an blast. I still prefer the Galaxy games more personally. But Odyssey is still an fantastic game & definitely the best out of the sandbox trilogy for an 3D Mario game.

I bought this game, played through it quickly the first time and thought it was fun, but man during quarantine I played this game for like a week straight getting almost all the moons and I think its probably one of my favorite ever 3d sandbox platformers. The movement and all the unique little submissions made this game a pleasure and I was super sad to have completed the game and had to move on.
This game literally got me through covid19 im glad I waited to play it the best mario game I've played since 64

Gonna be honest, after playing Odyssey, I've realized I much prefer the linearity and more action/platforming focus of 3D world over the exploration focus of Odyssey. I just wish that 3D land and 3D world weren't so uninspired, if 3D world had the creativity and fun of Odyssey, it'd be my favourite Mario game by far.
The problem is that they didn't make a open world game they made 10+ hub worlds to many 100% uninspired linear levels, and half of them aren't even challenging
What makes them so uninspired anyway? They seem very creative!
I also prefer the linear style 3D platforming games over the open world/sandbox collecthon. I found the linearity having better gameplay department & unique level designs than the open worlds one. Especially since most missions open world games having missions or minigames either incredibly repetitive, tedious or annoying and the way there level designs goes can be obnoxious & combined on the main collectables you need to proceed through the game can make them even worst with that due to the layouts. Not to mentioned you'll get booted out whether you succeed an mission & go for another one or you die and have to go through that mission again can be annoying as well. The only exception is Spyro the Dragon and Ratchet & Clank cause they do it better. But even than, I have more fun with linear style games like the Crash Bandicoot games, the Mario Galaxy Duology, Mario 3D series and Kirby & Forgotten Land. Maybe an open sandbox game doesn't do it for me.
For the record, it doesn’t need to be the wedding bowser amiibo to find purple coins, you can get it with any bowser amiibo, same for the peach and Mario amiibo abilities

I mean, a kingdom clearly inspired by dark souls, one entirely made out of food with a low poly look of sorts, a wood-working factory, a cold desert and station square are nothing out of the ordinary for Mario??
Also the stupidly easy to get moons are for the little kids who just want to continue playing the game without having to go through the most difficult parts.

Actually, you don't need the Amiibo for that. It just gives it to you sooner. You can unlock it by getting enough Moons and buying them.

You can buy and max at 999 moons, cuz you can buy them.
Plus you can buy 99 moons in each kingdom (it's counted in the list of moons)
I have to say, having to buy this many collectable feels lazy.

10:15 - Funny enough it's because of these clashing artstyles that this game feels so "Kingdom Hearts" to me, except here it's even better because these clashing worlds aren't treated like obligatory filler.
15:41 - I'm not too sure Breath of the Wild actually allows you to have Link be completely shirtless since doing so at certain parts could actually kill him. Always dress appropriately kids....
Now for those people that were choosing between Sonic Forces and Super Mario Odyssey and I've said that you should buy both... The reason why the artistic choices are different is because since you are going to different lands, things have to be different so things don’t get boring. Going to a new place feels like a new experience so that’s probably why they choose different artistic choices

Fun fact: they're rabbits because in Japan, the equivalent to the "man in the moon" is a rabbit in the moon. As for them being wedding planners? Well, I assume they just needed an excuse for Bowser to have elite underlings again.
Correction: finding purple coins also works with the regular bowser amiibo. I have it and tried it out. Is bowser in general that finds coins!

The purple coin radar works with any Bowser Amiibo, not just the wedding one. I used the Smash series Bowser and it still worked.
A bit of a challenge and/or adding a area to mess with the abilities, like a arena for each of captured enemies
To put it simply, Super Mario Odyssey is too fun; I almost got a concussion from playing it. Still, it is beyond a wonderful experience and amazingly well made regardless of my circumstances with it.

The amibo support isn't just locked to the wedding ones. If you use a smash bowser you can see the coins also. Same goes for mario and peachs amibo abilities can be activated by the super mario or smash amibo

This game has such excellent movement, someone beat Bowser and got 450 with only 15 captures.
I just want to say: The spin-throw can be incredibly useful without motion controls. The trick is that you can make the input during a jump, roll, loading screen, etc. and Mario will spin the moment he’s able to. From there you’re a simple Y-tap away from a spin-throw.

I know what you mean when you start the new Donk festival and your running through the 2-D section then you come across DK with the music playing in the background was to much it made me tear up but it was amazing
The same thing happens with older 3d mario games [excluding sunshine] you just need the amount of stars to make it to the final boss. You just need 70 stars in Mario 64 and 60 in Galaxy

I downloaded a MIDI file for Jump Up Super Star and used a tool to convert to bass/treble clef sheet music to teach myself the song on piano. Same thing with the moon escape song "Break Free (Lead the Way)".
