Aun no me decidido, he visto muchos videos, a veces pienso en Portimao, Seixal (Setubal).
You are very professional, thanks for this interesting info.
Hi Margareth! I have just spent 22 excelent minutes watching this video full of culture and content. I spent my summer holidays in that region from my 1 to 9 years old (30 days per year). I completely recall most of the important historical topics thanks to my parents that wanted me to know the history of these small towns and the rest of Algarve as well (and the rest of the country to be honest...). Watching your video, was a fantastic journey to the past for me, it reminds me of my first years and brings me back very good memories and vibes. My parents and I, we are from the north of Portugal, we are not related to the region btw. But... it brings me very good memories from when I was just a kid and loved the Algarve (this one you showed). Now I live in Barcelona and work with Central Banks around the world.... what a change, right? :)) THANK YOU for this video! :)
I'm so glad I could help you enjoy a journey to the past. There is nothing more beautiful than that! I love the North of Portugal as well and can't wait to be able to travel freely again to go back. Usually I spend more time there. Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the other videos as well. I spend a lot of time in Barcelona when life is normal, hopefully that will happen again soon. Thanks again for stopping by my page.
I will! We actually spend quite a bit of time in Tavira as it is one of my favourite places. Once we are free to travel again. This video was done during the pandemic so nothing was easy! Thank you.
Thoroughly enjoyed your video. What I appreciate most is the fact that you keep the camera on,whatever you are showing us,long enough for us to absorb any information we are interested in. Also your commentary is excellent. Well done 👍
Thank you for the nice comment. Much more to come. Hopefully I will get back to Portugal soon but it is looking a bit difficult for now. So, more Spain videos to come and then more Portugal eventually!!
@@mooninspain you are very welcome. I have some knowledge on what commitment and hard work it takes to turn out these wonderful posts. My hats 👒 off to you ...
Glad you liked Portugal, you should visit further inland and see the really old parts. We live just outside a small village that should have been the capitol of Portugal.
Thank you for watching. I think the only place I am yet to visit in Portugal are the Aldeas do Chisto. My husband is from Lisbon and I've been traveling and working in Portugal for 25 years. I never get tired of it! We will end up there soon! Do you live near Guimaraes?
@@mooninspain.. i thought you were visitng from Spain, sorry, just found your channel. Guimaraes is further north, we are close to Castelo Branco we have a farm close to a village called Sao Vicente da Beira.at the foot of the serra Gardunha mountains, been here almost 7 years now. like you we love it here. we have started a channel with a few videos and more coming soon. look forward to watch more of yours.
@@FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife I love Castelo Branco! We had the best time there one August at the fair!!! I think I have a post about Idanha a Velha in my blog MooninSpain.com. !!! I can't wait to see your videos. Will check now.
The "Bolas de Berlim" come from a vendor that is usually "yelling" what he is selling, it sounds like gibberish even to the Portuguese so just call him to you and ask what he selling that day. Also those potatos are not "Batatas à murro" since they were just boiled and didn't seem to have been punched. The best "batatas à murro" are usually just baked in the oven and never boiled, restaurants boil them to serve them faster but they always have to be in the oven a bit. Great video :)
I think they can be boiled or baked and become a murro from being smashed but no arguing here. I trust the feedback! I like them best with polvo a lagreiro. Have you tried the maracuja bolas de berlim? They are delicious. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@mooninspain Polvo a lagareiro is really good. I personally love them with grilled codfish. I never tried the maracuja ones, I also haven't been to the south/lisbon area in atleast 5 years. Must be a new thing for tourists but sounds very good. :)
@@ivosilva2796 hahaha!! bad time to try something out for tourists since there were very few in general! Trust me, they are really good. We saw them from Vila Real de Santo Antonio to Vila Nova de Milfontes to Nazaré. I have been desperately missing the North but we could not make it this time.
Thank you for watching. There actually are camelias in Castro Marim and even a camelia festival in Monchique but yes, those are buganvillas in the video!! I need plant support. Thank you again for your comment and for visiting!!
I will be visiting Portugal once the travel ban is lifted. Can you tell me if i need to have my passport checked by authorities in Spain if I cross from Portugal to Spain by ferry? Or by the bridge?
I don’t even remember the last time I had arroz de tamboril 🥺 but seeing you eating sardines I’m going to have some tonight - frozen sardines here in the states but better than nothing
That’s a great video, love to know the history of the towns and you explained really well, I left Portugal over 30 years ago and I miss specially the Algarve where I used to stay every summer when I was a kid.

I've never seen anyone eat sardines with their hands in Portugal or anywhere. Are you sure that this is the right protocol? Sine I am a huge sardine fan I want to make sure I eat it properly. Just want to know the correct way that's all so this is not a critique. Thank you!
If you are in a MIchelin Star restaurant, maybe it's not the best idea but on the beach, always! We also eat fried fish with our hands for the most part. Thanks for watching.
#NinoBK Yes we eat sardines with our hands with corn bread together, particularly on the Santos Populares in June (All month particularly in Lisbon) and even in our homes the best way of eat them is by hand but is just a choice (a preference), some prefer to eat them with a fork (not me though😊)! Well but in the end what is the most important is appreciate the fantastic sardines flavor, isn't it 😋😉?! Salute from LISBON PT🇵🇹 and sorry for the poor English, cheers! Um grande bem haja e muitas saudações Alfacinhas (Lisboetas) e Lusas, abraço! PS: And now I'm completely ->🤤
Just put the hot sardine on a piece of good bread and pick on the sardines then eat the bread that has the oil and taste of sardine I never eat this fish on a fancy restaurant because doesn't taste the same
