Why are you guessing - you have GPS. A one time task, put the GPS on the JD Gator and drive around and map all the field boundaries and obstacles. You will be able to calculate the acreage of each field. Then when it comes time to plant, harvest, mow, spread fertilizer, spray for weeds, etc... you have the Fields mapped so can use the program to immediately start work, as opposed to having to make an A-B Line every time you go to do a job.
You can use the front handler to pick up 1 bale and leave it in position next to another, that way it’s easier to turn around and lift with the back one.
for the back, put the bale on the left side as you look out the back when your putting it next to the other bale. It makes it easier because your looking over your right shoulder
Is the spacing the same on the front and rear handlers the same? If it is could you not pick them with the front first, then when you put them down it's set for the rear?
If you would run the front lifter in the bottom set of holes for the link arms it will lift higher but also crowd back in more, there is a fine line with them sitting level on the ground & crowding in enough when raised, I extended the top link bracket on mine & made a job out of it.
Not being smart Phil if you were using this combo again you could use the front lifter to pair the bales then it would be easy to lift them with the back one
Hi! How many bales have the McHale runned so far? Im very impressed. We have a Orkel HiQ runned 17000 so far. But i have service shop 5 minutes from the farm🙂
Theres loads of free apps. Field area measure is the one I use.... even has GPS... not great but for that. But it's bang on fir measuring fields, yards, lengths of passages... whatever.
The ram seems like a good idea but if you are dropping them as the bottom layer of a stack you have to re handle them as they are too far apart when the ram is lowered.
Definitely one acre in that Lawn field because I measured it with google maps. When I'm lifting bales on the back I lift the first one on the right hand side lifter, i then set it against the left hand side of the next bale in the field so that when i pull forward to line up to lift them both the first bale i lifted on the right hand side lifter is now on the left hand side lifter and the second bale is on the right hand side lifter if that makes sense, when you look over your right hand shoulder you can see at all times what is going on, everyone has their own way of doing it, I'm just sharing my way.
Well phil or anyone who can help just wondering cause i was asked to drive a tractor and trailer to draw grass but never done before if theres much to it im well able to drive a tractor and trailer just not under a harvester any knack to it or tips
Fleming make a good lifter but the toplink bracket needs to be raised by about 12 inches! When you lift up the lifter the back of the the bale tilt's to the ground! With a standard toplink when you adjust it right for going under bale it's to long when raised!
@@eamoncummins8419 u can go 3 high as long as it's a concrete yard and de water can get away but I have also seen bales 3 high in fields and on a stone base
He started off thinking it was roughly 7 acres then settled on 5 acres when he arrived at fields he lost 1 acre so he decided to go with 4 acres who knows but he ended with 53 bales so the amount of acres doesn’t matter that much he is happy out 😂
Well that's me feeling insignificant trying to move one bale of silage at a time in the back of a Massey 35 😅 Best of luck with the double bale lifters Phil. Hopefully they'll come in handy carting silage from far away fields

Phil pick up 2 bales on the front then lay them down and turn round and put them on the back so they are already lined up
I have the extendable tusk double bale handler an absolute gift especially if bales have sagged before lifting

Watching from the isle of tiree west coast of Scotland
Good video Phil, that was a nice bit of kit and a time saver. Looks like you're putting in long day's farmers work is never done.
Great Video Phil, Good to see you wrapping the baleage, thanks for sharing
Handy bits of kit. Will you be mowing the grass after the calves have grazed paddocks to keep the quality in them too?
When we had baler on string we used Tama string no breaking and no sliping on straw bales
Keep up the good work Philip!!!

I couldn't help but notice are you missing the crop roller phil? Great number of bales on that grass

Great video Phil, any 3xl bate on t shirts
Great stuff phil
Hydraulic top link works well for double lifters
To get ur 200 bales in de yard u could go 3 bales high
Supposedly not allowed 3 high without effluent drain away.

I think you want to get that exhaust put back on that tractor phil so we can hear you better.
If that’s a one acre field I would definitely buy it. It’s probably an Irish acre rather than a statute acre
Still no exhaust
Phil u should put on 2 bales at back first
Try putting the bales of the baler in doubles
70 yards square is an acre
I know that craic well out late at night drawing in bales . Jobs a good ‘un Phil lad 👍🏻
That was a class video of you doing the sliage 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Looks more like 2 acres phil if not more .
Get the hair cut for charity buzz cut ?
that's the biggest 1 acre field I've ever seen!! :)
A hectare more like
He ought to map it with his GPS and know for certain
He started off thinking it was roughly 7 acres then settled on 5 acres when he arrived at fields he lost 1 acre so he decided to go with 4 acres who knows but he ended with 53 bales so the amount of acres doesn’t matter that much he is happy out 😂
if u had a dowd bale lifter u nead no power top link
you should know what's in every field by now, that's way bigger than an acre
Jesus's no way that a acre an half Phil Jesus's some one tell you pokey pies 😳 😬
Can't do everything
Ask father Phil ....there was such a thing as an Irish acre.....from memory a bit bigger !!!more confusion😅
5 Irish acres was the same as 8 statute acres.
@michaeldelany2105 thanks Michael
well if the social media is too much for don't do it
Wire is good nutritional feed 😂

Will your 35 lift a chopped silage bale????
Tama net is the most overpriced net on the market. Good for nothing only busting
Can agree with u. Used it once and. Never again
Very bad at cutting clean but it’s all we can get in our area
