- I am opening five retail booster/blaster boxes of the new 2023/24 Panini Prizm Monopoly Basketball for our next collectible sports trading card pack unboxing/product review! These boxes are the result of a collaboration between Panini and Hasbro which started in 2023. Boxes retail in the $30 range. Every box contains 6 4-card packs. These boxes come with chances at pulling NBA Prizm rookie cards of Victor Wembanyama, Chrome Prizm cards of the top rookies from the 2023 NBA Draft class, various Monopoly themed parallels (Running Mr. Monopoly, Question Mark, Boardwalk Blue, Millionaire Shimmer, Boardwalk Blue Tiger Stripe, Red Dice, GO Space, Handshake Deal), 1/1 Prizms (Black, White Millionaire Shimmer), iconic Silver Prizms, ultra-rare SSP inserts (Money Blast & Millionaire Black), various SP Prizms (Purple, Brown, Light Blue, Pink, Orange, Red, Gold, Neon Green, Black Gold, Gold Wave), rookies of Brandon Miller, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Scoot Henderson, Keyonte George, Ausar Thompson, & Amen Thompson, and more! You can get a box for yourself from Target, your local sports card hobby shops, and online retailers/sellers. Overall, I like these cards, but the boxes are way too risky! I opened one box and pulled a purple Wemby
These without a doubt are boom or bust. But lets not ignore the fact that this is the best Basketball retail product panini has given us. I'd rather dome 10 of these than any other blaster they make.

Not of fan of this set, waters down an already watered down flagship product. BUT I will say the Gold Mojos look awesome.

Me and my boys bought a couple boxes. Pulled a base Wemby, Purple Wemby and a Running Man Parallel Haliburton. We played the game. Had a lot of fun! Not a ton of replayability, but still pretty fun for the boys. We did pull a Luka Icon parallel out of the game box.
I got lucky and got the last box from target and got him in the last pack. Thanks for all you do for the hobby

I kinda feels lazy slapping the monopoly logo on the cards front. Real opportunity for a cool design but those purple waves look nice

I have seen people open hobby box for $1000 and didn’t get any big money cards,it’s almost like buying lottery tickets everyone is trying to resale and not being a collector anymore.

It’s because the prices have gotten so out of hand. If the boxes were a few hundred like they used to be, that wouldn’t be an issue but when you’re spending $1000 on a box and only getting $50 worth of cards, it’s impossible to be happy with that return

Last year was great if you got the first wave. This years not as good because since they now guarentee the 2 purples waves. you take away 2 packs w/ chances at a numbered card. With that being said. "opening monop prizm until I pull a Wemby #d card" should be a thing.

Still a fun rip. It is low risk at $30 per box (I do wish it was $20). Good chance at pulling Wemby being a 100 card set. The /500 gold shimmer Wemby alone sells for 800-1K, the /199, /99,/49,/10, /5, 1/1 Wemby are worth much more. Then I see people open a Prizm hobby at $900 and getting no Wemby (400 card set). I have opened 8 boxes of Monopoly so far, pulled a Purple wave Wemby, 3 Wemby base RCs, Gold shimmer Scoot. I do agree this year it’s harder to pull numbered cards. Last year it was 1 per box, this year seems to be 1 per 3-4 boxes.

I went through 14 blaster and got only 2 wemby base .. wemby is pretty rare..
I pulled a Lauri Marikkeden white/black running monopoly man , James harden brown /250, Robert Williams III orange hand shake and brown /250 , Kevin Durant millionaire /100 , 2 wemby base, domontes Sabonis red /99 and Stephen curry red /99 …. Also got scoot , both Thompson brother in the purple. You should buy a case of this product and do a video on that
It’s one of the few retail options where you can actually get some big hits, so I don’t mind it

Got 2 numbered cards out of 5 boxes. Pink Jimmy Butler to 149 and Keyonte Geroge to 500. Also 2 Wemby base cards. Some boxes are brutal.
Since its inception and release, I’ve been a huge fan. I like it that there’s no Hobby version of it. Meaning, the playing field is even. I have box breaking videos too and my channel is PLANET ADOBO from Hawaii!

I don't understand the purpose of these cards. They look just like regular PRIZM except they say Monopoly. Help me understand what the point is?

Love the new Monopoly but wish Panini had focused more on making Prizm better (faster release, cooler cards, higher ceiling)
Monopoly is a fun little rip with some cool par to it. I wish they would do it for football while they still can. or some other game version. Keep ripping. I enjoy the vids.

Got 3 boxes and unfortunately no Wemby. Got a couple of good base rookies and a couple of purple wave rookies.
Purple rookies are harder to pull I watched Sky b cards open 55 blasters only 2 purple Wemby's. That's 1 in every 27 blasters

Your looking at this from the sports card side not the trading card game player side. Yes a ton is printed but in a TCG /500 is a SP good card…this is TCG set not a Sports Card set…if this was a sports card set it would be trash! Look at it for what it is…thanks for sharing!!

These Monopoly sets were the first thing I opened getting back into the hobby. Unfortunately.
Maybe mostly due to only one great rc player. But Prizm is pretty tuff if your looking for that one best card

I’ve opened 40 boxes and pulled maybe 10 parallels but my best card so far is Curry /25. Tough to hit but fun to rip ❤️

I've opened about 15 boxes. 1 Gradey Dick red millionaire/100, a Lamello bronze /250, and a Kawhi green /24.... Silvers seem pretty rare. Have only pulled about 4, best being an Ausar Thompson.
About $40-$50 back in cards. Kinda like getting $300 back in cards for Prizm Hobby.
Are they better then last year?

I bought 10 boxes. The first 5 were pretty rough (2 Wemby base and a Dinwiddie Gold #/500). Second 5 were MUCH better (purple Wemby, Brandon Miller Gold #/500, Wade Wonningham Red Shimmer #/100, and a Keegan Murray orange handshake parallel)

Know when Panini forgets to put the RC Rookie Card Shield on a players rookie card? Got a guy on eBay this weekend to make me stickers for the penny sleeve or top loader the same size as shield Panini would usually print on the card. He has them listed now as PANINI MINI ROOKIE RC CARD SHIELD DECAL PANINI RC CARD MINI LOGO PENNY SLEEVES
Love the concept, only bought 2 boxes, pulled wemby base, kobe bufkin /500 and grady dick /124, purple asar thompson. Was a fun quick rip. Probably wont open anymore. Ill stick with regular prizm. Excellent video as always.

out of 7 blasters i got 3 base wembys, 4 # cards, and one silver. numbered cards were thompson from rockets to 100, demar derozen to 100, brandom miller to 299 and anthony black to 199
It's truly crazy the prices of sports cards these days when the majority of it is just all base cards. Tbh i hope panini burns to the ground with their greed. There's SO MANY parallels anymore, and they might as well be base cards unless they're /50 or lower. Hopefully fanatics can find a way to add more value to the hobby...

Now I’ve played OG Monopoly but I have no clue how with these cards it would work. This has got to be a 99% reason just to get people to buy more cards cause it has to be 1% of people actually playing Monopoly let alone NBA monopoly with this mess 🤷🏻♂️
Weird concept and maybe not worth it for only 4 cards per pack. Prism is tough. Donruss is probably my fav for basketball.

I got 5 boxes on the second wave from Target, totally hosed. It was such crap on round 2. I got 2 boxes on the original preorder, got 1 gold in each box so I decided to try some more... big mistake 🤦♂ (not 1 Wemby base in 7 boxes)
