If your on android or something powered by Android, hold power and volume down buttons until it boots into recovery mode. If it just turns off, hold all of the buttons until it boots into recovery mode. Then select wipe data, use the volume buttons to go up/down, press the power button to reset. You will lose your data but there is nothing you can do about that.
If your on iphone repeatedly put in the wrong pass code until it says it is locked for 15 minutes, it should have an option saying erase iphone. Go through that, put in your apple id, and it will still wipe your data but it works.
