I had a 2015 Civic Hybrid dropped off on superbowl Sunday with a draw (.1 on the backup 10A fuse on top and .4 on the keyless 10A in the cabin). As soon as I saw the word keyless it reminded me of a video I watched a month ago and after a short digging I knew it was your channel (the word antenna also kept on ringing a bell). The problem ended up being the driver's handle. Returned the car back to him before the game started. Thanks again.
I have come across this a few times now. I never thought of using the tpms tool to check! Thank you for that. I will add that I’ve seen this draw for the handle intermittently failing causing the draw.
Proof that it pays to have anxieties to call a bad module! The module was consuming power and draining the battery, but only cause it had some annoying sidekick that wouldn't let it sleep lol. Awesome tpms tool trick!
Hey Mike, always look forward to your videos. You mentioned that you didn't think you had a good connection on the blue trace to lock sensor. I was assuming that was why it never showed on the screen when you pushed the lock/unlock button on the driver's side. Is that the case? Also I noticed on the schematic that both outer door handles list a lock switch. I know they weren't involved with the diagnosis but I wondered if you knew if that was referring to key cyl. switch. I didn't think passenger side had one even though it showed it. Thanks in advance for taking time to answer.
Definitely a bad connection in the touch switch input on the drivers side, but the antenna signal responded when I pushed the button so I left it alone. Only the drivers door had a mechanical key. Not sure about the lock switches on both.
Great video. Questions, any codes on a full system scan, any data PIDS on keyless entry system, would wrapping a scope lead wire around the door handles show the same ae the TPMS tool? Thank you in advance for your answers.
I don't remember using the scan tool on this, due to the main complaint of the battery going dead. The scope leads are shielded so I'm not sure about the wrapping technique. Autonerdz /Pico has a keyless entry signal detector part no. TA330 fairly cheap that should pick up that signal. Link to Autonerdz autonerdz.com/?wpam_id=2

Thats awesome!! Glad it worked out!

Good info. Thanks. The TPMS is a neat trick. It works well in Nissan, testing inside outside and push button antenna's.

Awesome tpms tool trick!
You nailed it. Keyless module was kept up by the over active touch switch/antenna.
Good find, Mike!

Thank you👍
That was to cool.tpms tool great trick.thanks for sharing.
No problem, hopefully it helps out someday 👍
Great Diag!
💯
Good show.
Thanks!
That was dope! I'm not sure if my autel tpms will read that frequency. The noise feedback was interesting. Nice find and video brother!
Thanks for tuning in. 💯
Well that was neat
👍

Awesome video. Nice trick. I use S.D.R. With an antenna on my laptop. I then watch the waterfall display. 🤔
💯

@@CartersDiagnostics Thank you for the reply.
Nice! So shouldnt the car unlock when it sees the key?
Yes, If the key was close enough to the passenger side it would do weird stuff.
Google Power Probe fuse voltage charts.
