I don't have a automotive Pico , I use Pico 6 and Pico 7 T& M Pico T&M does not have the custom setting , But hey i try it out on a vehicle, thanks for your valuable info .........
I noticed the same thing. I use Pico 7 T&M too. You can still make a custom sample rate by clicking in the Target Sampling Rate selector which opens up a new box where you can change it to 1 MS/s.
This is great. Glad I could clear it up a bit. This was a hurtle for me when I started 7, until I figured some stuff out. I've been using 6 for over 10 years so its been a struggle.
Great video! So is there any time we will need a smaller sample interval? Maybe CAN bus testing, Flex-Ray, or other communication networks? Or will 1 micosecond work for most networks?
For network stuff I like to use a sample rate 8 to 10 times the baud rate of the network being sampled. Example 500k baud I would use 5MS/ per second minimum. Depending on the model scope you have the time/division will be different. Practice on known good, and fine tune your setup before tackling a problem child. That is always my advise for scope users. Thank you for tuning in!

Mike,
Very valuable information re scope setup and testing! Thank you!
Absolutely 💯,. Thanks for watching!
This is a great video, I don't consider myself a beginner but I've been battling with 7 sample rate, great analogues with the fishing net
