TIPS FOR BUILDING ONE OF THESE!!! for easier loading you can put a bolt through the barrel at the bottom right before it opens into the larger chamber, that way you can get the potato as far down as you can without pushing it into the chamber, the longer it has to travel out of the barrel the higher velocity it will have. another thing you can do to get a better fit is to either take your excess pipe from the barrel and cut a piece down to about 4 or 5 inches and sharpen it on one side, that way you can easily size your potatoes perfectly before you put them in, OR you can sharpen the end of the barrel for the same thing. one of the biggest benefits of this is that when you just try to smash the potato into the end of your barrel, if its not sharp it can cause the potato to split and lose chunks, making it not the tightest fit, and you want the tightest fit for highest velocity. I prefer having a 4-5 inch piece to size the potatoes instead of just the barrel, cuz then you can have one friend sizing potatoes while someone else is shooting, and you can prep a bunch before you go shooting. with the igniter you dont actually need screws poking in from the side. on ours we have the igniter fixed right into the lid and just have the wires sticking in like that with about 2/8 of an inch exposed at the ends, just enough for a spark to jump across, and you can always bend them to adjust. this way you can more easily hold it up with one hand on the gun somewhere and one hand on the back and aim better. its also a lot easier to push in the button with your whole palm instead of just a finger. another benefit of this is youre farther away from the end of the barrel when you shoot it so its way quieter on the ears. we've found that axe is the best to use over hairspray, and just to spray for like 2 seconds. If youre brave you can go longer but I wouldnt recommend it since I know a guy who blew his up doing some serious limit testing with how long to spray. aside from using potatoes as ammo, what works excellently is empty caulking tubes that have about half an inch to an inch left, just for a little bit of weight. its not the tightest fit, but they go like fucking MISSILES. another thing we found was foam stress balls that are a little bigger than the barrel. get them a little wet (but not dripping, or enough that water can leak out of them) and jam that down the end. we were playing a fun game where we'd shoot it up in the air and then a few of us were trying to catch it in empty icecream pales. the ball tho literally goes so high that you cant see it for a few seconds. We're still trying to figure out a way to give the barrel rifling on the inside (which is a spiral pattern of grooves that makes the bullet spin when it shoots, increasing velocity and accuracy) but havent really figured it out yet, if anyone has the means and ingenuity to do it tho, it would be lit. If anyone found and took the time to read this, I thank you. Good luck on building your own potato launcher at home!!

Only if you use the pliers the correct way 🤪
Pro tip: use a Dremel to sharpen the edges of the end of the barrel to a point. It makes it easier to load potatoes.
Can also be used to run down your enemies like a bayonet
I can't imagine how distraught Charlie will feel when he learns that's not a vice grip. Vice grips are a type of pliers, that's just a vice.
You know he'd roast the fuck outta u for this

Him using the saw wrong, matt using the file wrong, their inability to open a can, and buying the wrong parts are all less annoying than calling a goddamn vise vise grips.
@Dranreb Dadivitan Vise, a vice would be the amount of g-fuel they drink
the secret to getting the caps off of pvc glue is to take a set of pliers and tap the side of the cap where the threads of the cap would be. Give it one or two good hits on the side of the lid, and they will twist right off.

My brother and I once made one of these out of thick steel and used a mixture or oxygen and acetylene as fuel from a blow torch, we wrapped ball bearing in a bunch of duct tape and on our tiny test fire, the masking tape ball bearing bullet went straight through the shed roof and was never found. 10/10 weapon.
