    Hey Rodney I would love to see your rod and reel arsenal! All big fishing channels have a rod and reel arsenal video, and I think it’s time you should make one! That would be soo cool!

    That's funny. I hooked a duck one time and had to cut the leader. They say the hook will desolve but not sure the duck would have lived till then?

    I know there was some dialogue in the video but I was completely distracted by those dark snappy eyes blinking cheerfully. Looks like fun. :)

    Aggressive Loon! Not only will they come up next to your boat, they will attack you if you get too close to the nest in your float tube accidentally. Thankfully the only time I saw such a thing, an eagle and an osprey showed up and distracted it long enough for me to flipper my butt outta there! Great work guys, always fun to watch!

      At Thuya Lakes lodge btw. Niel and his family are awesome and run a great lodge. Plenty of water around there to fish. They are near Little Fort, check them out!

    Hey Rod, great video as usual. I'm a resident of the Okanagan but away from home at the moment so I love watching your videos when unable to chase the trout myself. Just wondering, you seem to do a lot of anchored casting/fly fishing for trout but rarely see you troll for them. Any reason you dont often troll for rainbows? Its pretty exciting when a big rainbow smacks your lure. Cheers

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. It's just personal preference I think. I personally think anchoring off the shoals and focus on where I feel the fish are feeding works better than trolling around. I also prefer to have the rod in my hands when the fish strike.

    I hooked a nice trout once and I knew it was about 2lbs, then suddenly it fought like it was a 6-10lb trout. Then up came a loon with my trout in it's bill. I was able to reel it out of him right away and netted it and revived it in the net for awhile so it could swim away from the loon if it needed to. A lot of noobs don't know to do that so loons learn in a hurry, free lunch.

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, maybe Kitty was secretly feeling bad for the loon and wanted to feed it... 😆

    • @FishingwithRod
      @FishingwithRod  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      lol... It really isn't a secret lake but I'm not going to name a specific lake here because that'd just draw too much attention to it at once. All of the lakes around the Kamloops/Merritt region can have productive days, but can also have awful days. It all depends on the weather, time of the year, etc. My advice to anyone who wants to try Interior BC lake fishing out, is to pick a lake that is known for reasonably consistent results, go several times, experience the good and bad days, and develop a pattern that can be applied to other nearby lakes.

    • @davidasmith2101
