    Ive recently discovered map drawing as a hobby, and I find it to be the most satisfying and relaxing thing to watch.

    Have loved using your Map Builder, Josh. Have taken a bit of a break from map making (was doing a full world and got a bit burned out) but going to be getting back into it in the new year and nice to have a timely reminder as this video comes out! :)

      World maps have a tendency if doing that! Glad you’re taking it up again though. Thank you for the kind words as well!

      Absolutely! My plan over the coming weeks is to focus more on providing tutorials and guides on using the different Map Builders in the Map Effects Shop 👍

    I have a question do you think you will do fantasy Japanese maps in the future?

    • @MapEffects
      @MapEffects  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, I am actively working on a Japanese style icon pack. I’m hoping to finish that up soon. As for a full map builder with mountains, forests, etc. in that Japanese style, I’d definitely consider it if there was enough demand! I think it would be a lot of fun.

    I love this, can you do something with Affinity design as well?

    Hi Josh :) I just purchased your wonderful set. I have been able to import the brushes in Procreate but how do I import the polices and backgrounds ? Thanks for your help :)

      Hey, I apologize for the late reply but I believe I already responded to the email you sent me? If not, the paper backgrounds function just like any jpeg file you can import into a project. 👍

    Welp. This looks literally (not figuratively) like the perfect fantasy map maker, so much so it has me considering the androidial sin of considering an apple account solely for this! Having checked out your website, any chance we could get an identical quick tutorial but for the town map maker download you have?

    • @MapEffects
      @MapEffects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thank you for that, I really appreciate it! I used to be a strict android user as well, but eventually made the switch to primarily working on an IPad and haven’t looked back. Just having the Procreate app is reason enough in my opinion. But! One option you can consider is if you have a Photoshop subscription and access to the Photoshop app on your tablet, it will import the .abr version of the brushes for Ps. I tried it out on my IPad and it appears to work very well. And yes, I plan to do a video like this for the City Builder as well. The video is already partly shot 👍🏻. Thank you again!

      @@MapEffects Great, can't wait to see! I think it would be pretty cool to see you make the occasional map creation of your own here and there too. Could be nice to see the utilities used to their fullest by the creator plus additional ideas for us novice map makers. Also, I saw the bundle on your site for the 4 pack for 12% off, do you plan on having some bundle for all your assets? Very keen to go through everything you have and just wondering if there would be a "add all" bundle option as I would jump at the chance . Just some enthusiastic, wishful thinking!

    Is there a good canvas size at 300 dpi that you recommend? Love your map builders!

    • @MapEffects
      @MapEffects  ปีที่แล้ว

      I usually go for something around A2 paper size at 300 dpi 👍. And than you! Sorry for the late reply.

    Josh - do you have brushes for double line roads?

  • @a.kojduma8792
    @a.kojduma8792 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm not familiar with procreate. Is it possible to change the size of the brushes? I would like to create a huge world map, so my details need to be quite tiny.

    • @MapEffects
      @MapEffects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, I apologize for the late reply! Yes, you can adjust the size of the brushes. I drew them at a high enough resolution that you can scale them up. I did a map with the Map Builder that I printed at 24”x36” and it looked great 👍

    Hi. How can I use mapeffects on iPad? Because I can't find the application in the app store.

    • @MapEffects
      @MapEffects  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey sorry for the late reply! The Map Effects Map Builders are brushes that you import into an app like Procreate, Photoshop, Clip a studio Paint, or Affinity. It’s not it’s own independent app 👍

      I definitely understand. The only thing I will say is that the products I create is how I as an independent artist support my family and can continue to create more tutorials and content in the future. So just know that if you decide to save up and pick it up, I do genuinely appreciate your support. And if not, I understand and hope you enjoy all my free tutorials 😀
