Its not like its not done before - multiple SOAD songs use this rythm. And even Rammstein did it 20 years ago on Morgenstern.
You cant call it 4/4, true the bassdrum is 4/4 but the general rythm is counted as tresillo rythm 3+3+2.

    • @DevotioOfficial

@@kaarem-t8899 Emigrate did this with a song called "This Is What". Muse have done it. It's kinda 4/4 on the kick drum, but the beat itself is a descendant of Bossa nova rhythms.

This was my second time hearing this song today, and while it certainly isn't what you'd expect from Ghost, it's kind of why I like it. While I like that some bands put out the same style in their songs, it's also refreshing to have a band do something completely different. Tobias has quite the vision for Ghost and so far he's not disappointing. Speaking of other bands that mix things up; Faith No More is a band you should give a listen to. Mike Patton is the lead singer and is several songs it sounds like different singers, but it's all him. There are many songs to try; Falling to Pieces, Epic, Evidence, Midlife Crisis, From out of Nowhere and just a Man to name a few. They also have a some amazing covers, War Pigs, Easy, and This Guy's in Love with you. There are plenty more to choose from and from Heavy to soft...

I'm more a rocker than a metal fan, and when i first heard of Ghost I was wary, and thinking they would be that "cookie monster" garbage. Boy was I wrong, the first song I heard, may have been He is, or Cerise, blew me away, and I finally saw them live in Reno when they passed through. Funny thing is, many in the audience were friends and co workers too! Now this song, holy hell it's amazing, I love the added latin beat with the great metal sound, and what a song! I'm glad to see them growing in popularity, they have amazing talent and do great work, this is good for rock and so long as they keep putting out such great music I'll be happy.
