  • On October 21st 2023... Myself And Other Railfans Attended SEPTA's Annual Rail Rodeo At Fern Rock Transportation Center. Not Much Was Shown During The Rail Rodeo Due To Loud Copyrighted Music In The Main Building Of The Maintenance Facility That TH-cam Would Not Be Happy With Us Using. The Maintenance Facility Services SEPTA's Broad Street Line Subways But We Did See Some Components To Market Frankford Line Sets. However, What Did Make This Interesting Was That We Were Granted Exclusive Access To SPAX 70 Which Was Not Open To The Public During The Event But Was Part Of The Display Train. Here We Tour The Cab And Even Get To Sound The Horn A Bit. After A While We Watch The Startup Occur. We May Post More From SEPTA Rail Rodeo 2023 But As Of Now Its Still Up For Debate. We Hope You Enjoy This Video.
    Enjoy!

Awesome video! Very neat you got to see the inside of that diesel! I just have two questions, How often or if at all do the ACS-64 use the warminster line? Also in your opinion what is the best spot to watch a lot of septa trains just rolling by?

Well to answer your first question.
The ACS 64s we’re last used on the Warminster line in Summer 2019, but that was only for testing purposes in revenue service. They have not been back since so to answer your question. The answer is no they do not run on the Warminster line.
Now your second question is kind of complicated for me at least.
I don’t railfan SEPTA much, and if you could believe it, I have not made a stand-alone SEPTA video since 2022. Aside from this one, at least. But that does give me an idea though.
The best place from what I’ve seen would have to be somewhere along the Northeast Corridor. Preferably the Wilmington/Newark line. Since during the week you’ll get deadheads and express services at high speed and a fair amount of Amtrak action. And if you’re real lucky, maybe some freight.
      I hope this helps.
