@AquariumCoop Thank you for showing us your process of taking care of yourself with the help of a friend when you're going through a difficult, exhausting time. I have lived since the 1990's with chronic major depressive disorder. Your forthright example and honesty really helped me to reach out and tell my friends and family I was having a hard time finding enjoyment in hobbies and activities I previously felt good doing (Big red flag if it lasts more than a month). I expected very little response from others who care about me because I felt cynical and downcast. I did not trust that I could return to having a pleasant time doing anything but I took a chance to tell my community what was going on and they showed up big-time, just like Mike @AQUAPROS did for you, bringing their enthusiasm and energy to rebalance my head and heart. We humans are like schooling fish in that way: In order to thrive and stay healthy in the aquarium of life we need compatible tankmates to swim alongside. Grateful for the inspiration as always, about the hobby and about life.
I had been in the hobby for 10 years but got overwhelmed during covid shutdown (ironically when so many people were entering). I just had a baby, and she loves watching my remaining tank. It brought back my love for fish keeping, and I'm being pulled back in. I understand completely, and Im happy you are finding happiness in this again!
😃 Wow… I used to be heavily into aquariums about 7 years ago. I had to give it all up for reasons I won’t go into but today, for Christmas, I got myself a nice 20 gallon starter tank… Only problem is I forgot EVERYTHING about keeping and maintaining an aquarium! 🙄. I DO remember this channel and I do remember Cory!… and I remember cycling a tank. Really excited. I miss this so much. I’m back baby! 😆
I’ve had the same mindset for sometime. And same as you I’m going through withdrawal of fish. Setup two new tanks and getting ready for more. Sometimes we need that to show us just how much we love this hobby
Hi Cory! So great to hear you're doing great now! Getting overwhelmed and depressed and having a big backlog of stuff to work on is common to a lot of hobbies. I'm so glad you were able to get some help from Mike and accomplish so much in 4 days! I think we all need to remind ourselves to ask for help from a friend sometimes!
I'm so happy Corey is back!!! It might just be me, but Mike is the Ferris Bueller of the fish hobby! He helped you with your fish room with humor and style, maybe took a Ferrari for a joy ride and possibly crashed a parade?! 😂 Honestly, though, it's awesome to see you so happy and excited, again! ❤ Merry Christmas to you and your family 🤗🎄🎅
I'm very happy you've connected with and set up the affiliate with Dan's Fish. Feels like in the Pacific Northwest we have the trifecta with Bob, Dan, and Cory. I hope to meet all of you guys at the eventual unveil event for the opening of the store expansion. I hope you can fly Dan in for it.
The fish room is one of the best I have seen! Having watched the transformation I am motivated to keep mine in shape...happy for you Cory. Mike's a great guy!
You can really see the difference where you did your renovation. My all time favorite tank is the anubias on the red lava rock, and the other is your anubia rock mountain with the trailing wood. Thank you again for the great information you pass along in your commentary.
Super-glad you’ve found your interest and buzz and passion for your hobby again, and just know you’ve inspired a whole lot of us out here over the years 😊 Good to see you end the year on this note, and no small thanks to Fish Tank Mike. He was stepping in for all of us who follow your channel.
I really felt like you were getting burned out, and then your business partner almost died… totally understandable that you got overwhelmed. I love seeing your process with Mike. It gave me some ideas. ❤
ive been noticing the lack of videos/updates and all over the past while and im so glad to hear youve gotten your vigor back!!!! even when its not for us to watch or hear abt im really happy to know youve gotten the joy back in your hobby
It’s nice to see you reinvigorated in the hobby. You really helped my dive deeper into it years ago. One of the first videos of yours I saw was when I was trying to build a moss wall but you put a video out and used anubias instead and it was awesome. Thank you for everything.
I thoroughly enjoyed the build series with you and Mike working together. This tour video is so good! Thanks for sharing your fishroom and keeping it real about the ups and downs.
Absolutely gorgeous overhaul, so good to see you have your mojo back :) I look forward to seeing how they all settle and season. I love the Vienna guppy tank, those 'mountains' are so cool. Never seen pinocchio shrimp before they look really cool too. Thanks for the update :)
I’m glad you’ve found your passion again Cory. We seem to have been slumping at the same time as I have been suffering with burn out. I haven’t been able to keep up with my 8 tanks as I should and have decided to downsize… especially since we will most likely have to move in July. I like the thought of quality over quantity. It seems like this was an enlightening journey for you and I hope the same for myself! I’m glad you’re back!
I'm so glad you are back Cory! Just started the hobby in July and your channel/group/homepage has helped me tremendously! Thank you so much. Keep chasing your dreams!!!
I’m just wrapping up my busy season at work. During that time I can barely keep up with water changes let alone do projects. I took inspiration from your videos over the weekend and got back into the fishroom myself. It feels good. Too cold to ship in new plants, but I ordered some additional air supplies and stuff for new projects.😊
I love rainbow sharks, I had bought 6 before and tried to breed them... They died, one at a time until there was just one.. It was like a Highlander situation.. Not what I was hoping for... The Fishroom looks incredible, Cory! I`m glad to see you back in the hobby.
The tanks are looking great! I’m glad to see you back in the fishroom and just enjoying your own hobby more. Merry Christmas Cory, I hope you and Katie have a great Christmas . 🎄
I’m really glad you have been able to tap into your joy again. It’s really nice to see you enjoying yourself again. Gives me hope about my hobby too! Joy begets joy. Much love Cory!
Watching this and the fish room makeover with Mike has inspired me to get off my but and work on my 3 tanks. That fish room/ tank depression is real. Currently working on rescaping one of my tanks while taking notes from you guys! Totally feels like im part of the buddy system lol
I am so happy to hear you are feeling better, and that you have a friend that is such a great support. Your tanks look great. BTW, I recently bought a tank and some guppies because of you. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year, Cory.
Welcome back! Sounds like a bit of burnout, so glad you’re back - especially because I literally just found you and binge watched a bunch of videos. We (my hubby and I) took a fish hobby break after the mass death of all of our African cichlids last year. We’d had them for 8 years - all of the fish in our tank had been born there. We made a rookie mistake, added a couple of plecos that we didn’t quarantine first and I don’t know for sure that was the cause but within a week everyone was dead with no signs of illness. Devastating. Anyway, starting up again and your videos have been hugely inspiring 😊
Totally digging the Anubis’s on the lava rock . Planning on doing a rainbow tank by next Christmas ( fingers crossed). They need space to swim but I like having wood, rocks with a little blocked sight lines when squabbling occurs . Enjoying all the new rooms , shop Reno !
Been watching you since before the the big tank busted in the front of the original 700 sqf. store. It is about time you enjoy the fruits of you labor and relax and let the little kid come out that love to watch fish breed. If you don't you will wonder where time has went.
Yyyyaaayyy Cory back , we all get burnt out and down but it’s how you get back and at it that I s what counts. Knowing yourself and setting your hobby up for your lifestyle is important and under discussed. Major reason for burnout or leaving the hobby
Fish room looking awesome! Thanks for the knowledge What I like about Corey he’s a 100% naturalist and he gives very good advice. He does not talk about things he does not know doesn’t seem to be a greedy person. He’s not all out for himself. Thank you for being real all about the fish brother. 100% support you and Dean Going to need lots of Heathy freshwater fish… my aquarium room is almost ready” will be seeking out your advice and will continuously follow you and thanks!
Heck yea man glad you are back in the videos and feeling the excitement for the hobby again. Ive been watching since the beginning. lets keep it going!
Good to see you enjoying the hobby again! I didn’t know how nerdy about fish I was until I got to know this channel through a TH-cam search for treating a sick molly in 2018. I’m just inspired by your whole existence - fish wise, career wise, propane wise. I have literally watched all 1000+ videos. Thanks for bringing us along your ride and making us all better hobbyists. ✌️
Great job on the tanks, they look great, looking forward to seeing more videos on the fish room, its looking awesome with some very interesting tank designs and fish. Can tell your genuinely enthusiastic about the fish room again, which can be tough when you're always busy etc. Really enjoyed the video, thanks.
What is that sand in the 125 gallon with the jade rock because it looks really good color and course size really loved these videos almost like a throwback
Team aquarium co-op the fish room couldn’t look better thank God you guys finished it on time before that inspector guy comes back in lol love all your content. Keep up the great work see you on the next one.
🤟🏼😎 Yeah baby! That's what I'm talkin about. I enjoyed your collab day with Mike. I'm so jealous.. Where can I get a Scientist buddy who'll real-talk the sh*t out of me? 😅 You're so lucky ❤ Can't wait to see your new European tour! Happy Holidays! 🥂🎉
I think there's something about the spectrum of your light that also makes particulates in the water more visible because I noticed that in my tanks when I switched to your light. I've just had to add more floss to my HOB in my display tank and don't worry about it in my other tank.
When you go back to Germany you might want to visit one of the warm-water rivulets that can be found there. Tons of livebearers, cichlids, shrimps, and even plecos live there by now. All in the wild.
So glad your back, Cory. Always love the fish room updates and you guys got so much done. I'd love to have a room filled with 40 breeders like that. I just got some new fish myself in the last couple of weeks from Dan's and Aqua Huna. I'm all excited for my tanks too.
I have really hard water (pH of 8.4) and my crypts do amazingly well and spread like wildfire. I have them planted in very fine gravel with root tabs (I do not add any liquid fertilizers)...seems to work perfectly for me. Maybe root tabs would be helpful for you?
I absolutely hate the glass lids on Aqueon 40 gallon tanks! They are solid and sturdy, but whoever though it was a great idea to put the hinge right snack dab in the center obviously never owned a tank! The 75 is perfect (I know it's two separate sides) with the hinge closer to front so a strip light can sit unobstructed in the middle of tank for better light spread. It would avoid all the hassles you demonstrated in that first tank with the platys. I don't like those fish so much, but I really loved that tank! Also enjoyed the lava rock with Anubius plants ❤❤
Hey Cory, could you make a video on shrimp care? You make it look so easy. I really struggled with them when I tried. How do you keep a consistent kh in the water?
We have a couple of shrimp videos (like th-cam.com/video/CiNDcC88OYc/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/6mYgSk3vTfM/w-d-xo.html ), and we like to used 1 lb of crushed coral per 10 gallons of water in the substrate to increase the KH ( www.aquariumcoop.com/products/crushed-coral-1-pound-bag ). Hope that helps you with your shrimp journey! ~Irene
On the cloudy Vienna guppy tank, check the underside of the lid. It may need a wipe. Had a tank like that, broke everything down, and left it for a week..still had a cloudy tank and couldn't figure out why. It was a calcium built up on the lid
I fell in love with and purchased those limia from Dan as well. Personable little fish and I'm really enjoying them, but I imagine they will like your hard water better than my soft water.
I've had the Vienna guppies for about 3 1/2 years. The two main variations I see are a dark morph, and a solid colored tail that's a kind of a brick red color. There are definitely several traits you breed towards. Over the past couple of years, I've been gravitating towards guppies with smaller tails, and Endlers. I have a hard time watching guppies with tails so large that the fish struggle to swim.
Liked this video; seeing each tank just a bit different from the next. Our local fish store now carries a number of your products. That is fun to see. I am still ordering from you, though as they don's have xtreme flake and pellet food you carry. I guess, I am an old time viewer. I recall when you would have Mike, maybe Lukus, etc. can't remember all the gang, but you guys had a great old time uking it up about tacos etc. Time passes. So happy that you are still putting in the effort to stay in love with the hobby. It is always hard when your hobby becomes your business.
Cory, I really enjoyed this video. I am new to the hobby and only have two tanks but I'm constantly battling algae even though I feel my tanks are as healthy as could be. It's depressing sometimes but overall, I enjoy the hobby so much and your videos keep me engaged. Thanks for all you do.
Have you ever tried underground filters? That way you do not see any of the filtration. Tube can be cut to be above your gravel and hidden easy by a rock. I bet you could develop one really easily. Just like the old days.
I have hard water. The crypt wendtii have done the best in my hard water when planted in gravel with root tabs. Your tanks look good. I really like the carved mountains. Merry Christmas!
The tanks look great, Cory! 👍 You guys did a lot of aquascaping in a short amount of time. My two cents; I think Elmer's tank would look more balanced with 3 pendants, instead of two. I think the cooler light shows more particulates, but the warm light seems dull.

Can't wait to see more fish!!!!!
How about you do a giant danio aquarium! They don't get enough love.

He's back baby!! Cory tinkering in his fish room and bringing us along is the heart and soul of this channel, in my opinion.
I had been in the hobby for 10 years but got overwhelmed during covid shutdown (ironically when so many people were entering). I just had a baby, and she loves watching my remaining tank. This is great content. Love the long form hanging out in the fish room. Awesome stuff, keep it coming, tanks look great!
Love to see you having FUN with your tanks!

Spiderwood, black lava rock, anubias and crypts... absolutely gorgeous tank

Great tour- the ebb and flow of fish keeping. Looks good Corey!
Heck yea man glad you are back in the videos and feeling the excitement for the hobby again. Ive been watching since the beginning. lets keep it going!
Thank you for sharing. It's keeping me motivated through the worst flu I've ever had. Cheers.
Discus fish are the coolest cichlids! And they seem very peaceful too.
Good to see you enjoying the hobby again!
I didn’t know how nerdy about fish I was until I got to know this channel through a TH-cam search for treating a sick molly in 2018. This is why I loved this channel. Great video, don’t stop doing these please
I love excitable camera CORY- I was here for all of it but this is awesome- So happy Cory got his groove back 🎉

Great content Cory! Fish room looks amazing!
Great job on the tanks, they look great, looking forward to seeing more videos on the fish room, its looking awesome with some very interesting tank designs and fish.

Team aquarium co-op the fish room couldn’t look better thank God you guys finished it on time before that inspector guy comes back in lol love all your content. Keep up the great work see you on the next one.
I heard the inspector is on vacation, but in the new year, there’s new regulations coming.
Glad you are back having fun again Cory!
So glad you're having fun again.
Cool video and mike is a awesome guy. Are the buffalo ciclids mean? Thanks for sharing
🤟🏼😎 Yeah baby! That's what I'm talkin about. I enjoyed your collab day with Mike. I'm so jealous.. Where can I get a Scientist buddy who'll real-talk the sh*t out of me? 😅 You're so lucky ❤
Can't wait to see your new European tour! Happy Holidays! 🥂🎉
I think there's something about the spectrum of your light that also makes particulates in the water more visible because I noticed that in my tanks when I switched to your light. I've just had to add more floss to my HOB in my display tank and don't worry about it in my other tank.
The light is totally worth it though - I LOVE the color spectrum and how cool (temp not color) it is compared to previous lights I've owned!
I’ll test this, I have a billion competitor lights from testing.

Interesting. I’ve loaded them up with root tabs as well.
now that IS interesting. @@AquariumCoop
thank god. dont get me wrong, i like the other people from Aquarium co op but your my dude and i love seeing your fish room!
Good to have you back Cory...
Room looks really good. Been watching for years... will keep watching for years.
Looks great!! Thanks for sharing the process and your feelings about the fish room before you did the redo.
Great video. Gives me some motivation to tune up my tanks. Been in a bit of a funk with mine as well but this gives me some inspiration thank you.
Welcome back Cory! :) Video is over a month old but still. Welcome back.
I love the way the Seiryu stone looks with the bolbitis in the platy tank. Im going to have to steal that to get that forest look 😅
Great video and glad to see you rediscovering your passion! Perhaps some Cyps for the 125????? If so, excellent choice. Love 'em.
Very cool & happy new.recal you pushing out vides out the 1st garage .
So exciting to see the fresh tanks! It's good to see you enjoying the fish room so much.
Good to hear, can hear it in your voice, way to go!! Love these vids!
“Cory is back” are some of my favorite words. I wouldn’t be mad if you bring Dean along for the ride though 😂
You are still learning. As long as you are learning you are progressing.
Your fish room is looking clean and spacious.
It appears you removed your auto-feeders and the custom Dean-cut glass tops. Curious why that changed.
If you’ve seen the community post, I’m testing foods. Also I wanted to remove the excuse of being lazy cause the auto feeder will feed the fish today.
Welcome back, Cory.
Have you ever tried underground filters? That way you do not see any of the filtration. Tube can be cut to be above your gravel and hidden easy by a rock. I bet you could develop one really easily. Just like the old days.
Dude this is such a great video. Especially the end. So happy for you and your business! Cheers and continued happiness
Great video! Glad to see you on the other side of the slump 🙌🏻
love that Cory is back!!!!
I have hard water. The crypt wendtii have done the best in my hard water when planted in gravel with root tabs. Your tanks look good. I really like the carved mountains. Merry Christmas!
Platy poop trains! I miss having platies lol.
Love those carved Seyrou stone “mountains” look!
Your reboot is contagious😁👍
The man, the myth, the legend! He’s back!
I'm glad you're back.
I live in Va and I'm seriously going to take a trip to see the store and meet the man Cory!!
What is that rock face background on the far right tank? Looks very cool!
I have been waiting. No pressure.
I am building my first fish room, I enjoy getting inspiration from Cory and the team.
It's good to see the improvement on the room! I'm going to the co op this Sunday!
Yup, clubs help too with tank stagnation. Social helps.
The tanks look great, Cory! 👍 You guys did a lot of aquascaping in a short amount of time. My two cents; I think Elmer's tank would look more balanced with 3 pendants, instead of two. I think the cooler light shows more particulates, but the warm light seems dull.
Yay..welcome back cory 😊. I am looking forward to seeing you and your videos
