1,000,000% thank you so much for the guidance. My radio was glitchy in my 2011 Kia Sorrento, most days it didn’t work at all. I bought a used radio online for $30, and because of this video I was able to install it myself.
Yeeessssssssssss!!! Thank you. Thank you. It worked. Everything in the car works now, even the car alarm. I did it myself. Thank you! It was the Module fuse!!
THANK YOU!!!!! I almost didn't buy this vehicle because it had the same problem during my test drive. One fuse solved it AND the trunk not opening, interior door/dome lights not working while the car was off and the key fob not unlocking the doors.
For anybody having trouble getting the cigarette lighter out, pry from the top with a plastic pry tool. Really work it and you'll probably mess your tool up a bit but you can get it. Don't stress too hard on the bottom or it will just mangle the plastic. I'm a professional installer and it even took me a ton of work to get it. Good luck.
Syllith I wish I had read your comment first, I had a struggle of a time getting it from the bottom. I even broke off pieces. Having the right information and tools can make life so much better.
Thank you for your tip, it really helped. I also removed both cigarette caps and put my fingers in there to get a good pull. The clips finally popped from the top. This is by far the hardest part of the job.
Thank you guys for showing how to remove the stereo in a 2011 Kia Sorrento. I have this suv and thinking about changing my radio, and this helps on how to remove the original stereo. Much appreciated!
Excellent Video,I have a 2013 KIA Sorento 4x4 with the antenna located on the roof at the rear, the radio is not sensitive enough to pick up good FM here in the Philippines,I have an FM radio antenna Amplifier I brought from the US made for Cars and it has a Male Motorola Plug to go to the radio and a Female Motorola Plug in the Amplifier and operates at 12 Volts DC. Does the KIA Radio accept the Motorola Plugs or not? Do I have to take the dash apart to get to the antenna connector on the radio? Thank You A retired US Marine living in the Philippines
That's ok if nothing works, but mine came on but had no sound. Buttons knobs display all worked but no sound. There was a broken wire in the left rear door by the hinge. If you wiggled the rubber boot just right the radio sound came on. Something to do with anti theft? Also the power window would go down but not come up until you wiggled the wire. sometimes hitting the left window switch the radio sound came on.
Great video guys. Helped me with my 2012 Sorento that 'Ive been having audio issues with (no sound, though radio turns on). Do you know where the amp is on the 2012 Sorento? That's my last thing I need to check. Cheers.
Your seat heater wires were underneath where originally at, u must of took it apart before and put wires underneath by the cigarette lighter sockets... good video helped alot, just wish it should how to unplug the seat heater plugs, there a banshee
My issue is that the touchscreen is no longer responsive. I imagine I will have to replace the unit, which is almost identical to the one in the video. I am currently looking for a good price on a fully functional radio. UVO, Sirius XM & the screen displays the backup camera view when car is in reverse. Thank you for the excellent instruction on how to remove, and the tip on not damaging the screen with the shift lever (something I most likely been unaware of as I did it!). I have subscribed and given you a big thumbs up. I will check your website to see if you can help me find a reasonably priced used unit to replace mine with... unless you know how I can fix the touchscreen! Thanks again.
This is about the UVO radio's sound not working, but everything else works. Resetting the tiny reset button on the UVO radio, and checking all of the fuses for a blown fuse, resetting the 12v battery power to the SUV, contacting the Kia dealership for an outside of the warranty solution, none of it worked for me, and I couldn't find a used radio online by the part # search. After I removed the UVO radio from my 2012 Kia Sorento, I had it tested for sound at a local audio store. The store confirmed that the radio was bad, and everything else was fine. After further research online, I registered as an owner at KIA.COM and saw UVO software upgrade version 1.mp.9.010 dated 9/13/12. I upgraded the current radio software from version 1.mp.9.008 to 1.mp.9.010 and the sound problem was fixed. Hope this helps!, and my many thanks go to the person who posted the 'radio removal' video.
I am having the same problem with my 2012 Sorento. I registered at kia.com but I don't see the upgrade. It just says my VIN is not a UVO car, although the radio is not after market, but it did not come with my car, its a KIA Radio just this one has a bigger screen and navigation.
He said at the beginning of the video that the fuse fixed the problem on this particular vehicle. As for the shift knob it allowed them to remove the panel.
Ok, if it's not confuses and you're radio. Still not working after you did the hard&soft reset. The clock and working and steering wheel panel buttons is not working What to do then?
have you made a video replacing the amp for the same Kia model? my radio has no sound....I have already checked the fuses and replaced them however same issue? have not found where the amp is in this car? any help... thanks
I have the same issue, radio cuts out intermittently. Very random... comes on spontaneously then turns off at whim... anyone know why that happens how to fix that?
Hey guys, I have a problems with my stereo, I think that the bluetooth module doesn't works. I have to replace the whole radio or can I fixed? Thanks!!
I have a 2011 I want to install a amp and a sub is there any way to do that with the stock deck ? the rca hook ups is the part I'm having a hard time with
Got any idea why a 2012 Sorento radio would go to a white screen? Controls all seem to work but of course you can;t see what you are really doing. What's really weird is that it has vertical lines in it and they seem to change with the sound coming out of the radio. Almost like a visualization program running.
Does any one know where I can get a radio repaired. I have looked for a replacement one but cannot find an Infinity UVO radio. If anyone knows if another model will replace it I would appreciate and information.
LOL. Dead radio? Then why, at 5:27 when you bump the power button with the back of your hand, does the radio come on? Anyway, very useful video, will be referring to it tomorrow.
See 1:30. They found and replaced a blown fuse called ‘module’ which brought power back to the radio. They just continued to film to show us how to remove the radio.
Best regards : A frind of mine gift me a kia radio (AM100SLGL) and i want to conect this radio to home radio.I wan to kwon How i conect the sub and aux port? Can you helpe to conect that? Thanks for the answer.

Thanks, after 15 minutes of trying from the bottom with no luck, I was able to get it out from the top in a few minutes.
Thank you for your tip, it really helped. I also removed both cigarette caps and put my fingers in there to get a good pull. The clips finally popped from the top. This is by far the hardest part of the job.

It's the amp. I'm having the same problem. I think you need to change the whole DIN
The amp is inside the radio if I'm not mistaken
Did replacing the radio help with your sound? I’m having the same issue to where my radio comes on but there isn’t any sound.
Great video. The same as a 2011 Sportage LX ??
Great video! Thank you gentlemen...

I'm having same issue too of the radio cutting in and out on its own. So I understand the only fix is replace the radio?
Mine too. Keeps turning on and off by itself. But it’s does work perfectly when it turns on. All fuses are good. Did you figure out yours?
I have the same issue, radio cuts out intermittently.
Very random... comes on spontaneously then turns off at whim... anyone know why that happens how to fix that?
It's a great one! Thanks a lot for posting. Helped me a lot! 👍

I have a 2011 I want to install a amp and a sub is there any way to do that with the stock deck ? the rca hook ups is the part I'm having a hard time with
Its super late but a line out converter or some speaker wire taps to go to your line out inputs on your amp. Did you manage to install subs?
Gracias mil.
Isn't it safer to unplug the battery before you this?
