Something i noticed is that some people somehow ignore that this Baltany homages the Explorers, not post-1989 modern references with applied indexes (some of which are bizarrely not lumed). Printed, non-white and non-glossy dials (although some references had them) are normal things for a vintage Explorer.
I have the black version. The vintage Explorer is well done, dimensions are perfect and the feeling of quality is there. Three things i would change are a thinner bezel, a less darker tone of khaki in the dial (i hate the term "faux patina" - no one is deceiving anyone) and a fourth hole on the clasp, as long as the closed length isn't increased. Overall Baltany is doing homages in the true sense of the word, and i will definitely get more of them.
This is hands down the one I would get if I were to get an Explorer Homage. I personally would love to see it without Mercedes Hands. Thanks for the great review!
You can really see how good the crystal is on the Baltany on that side by side with the Addiesdive. When viewed from the top down, the crystal on the Addiesdive has a white ring all over the outer edge, while on the Baltany, it's clear all the way through.
The wave on the timegrapher comes from the 0,9ms beat error, which is quite high for a new movement. Maybe just needs a bit of regulation. That's definitely too high. A high beat error accelerates wearout to the moving parts.
To watch companies and other watch reviewers: I am very hesitant to buy a watch if this guy has not reviewed it. Too few people show what the watch looks like on the wrist, on different straps, how reflective the crystal is, a proper lume comparison, and enough of the watch.
With a 39 mm case and brushed stainless steel case would be a home run but not in a 36 mm with a scratch magnet polished case sides.. Thank you for your great channel.
The original watches back in the day had a light cream, "off white" colour, not fully white. That was the lume in the 60s. I think the correct upgrade would be to make the beige less dark.
@@mathori-133 the PD isn't even close to the Baltany or Cronos. Those 2 are pretty close in terms of quality, but 2 different version of the explorer. Just decide which one you want, vintage (Baltany) or modern(Cronos) and buy that one. You'll be happy with either.
@@Mystery_Man84 all comes down to the design you want. Modern explorer, absolutely, O.K or Cronos, but neither offer the printed dials with domed crystal 🤷
I think it's safe to say that Baltany now own the best vintage homage space.

Yes, maybe some arrow or simpler hands, but like the design in general even with the merc hands
It's an absolute beauty ! If I didn't already have a "vintage" Seiko with a similar shape, I would definitely have bought one of these Baltanys 🤩

@@tresconik 🤣. Thanks man! I just reviewed watches the way I would want to see them reviewed...no fluff, no click bait, just the watch
Gorgeous but I wish it was available in a larger size.

So much better without the sunburst.
@@lefroy1 see, I like em' both. Tough call for me
I was lucky to get in on one of the Smiths Everest drops. If I hadn't, this would be my pick.
Thanks for the review. Yeah for I have large wrist of 8.5 inches in diameter. I wear 38-45mm watches.
Awesome! Would you consider reviewing the Octopus Kraken 36mm Explorer?
@@MyChannel-om3gg I will consider it, yes. It looks fantastic.
If i didn't have the Cronos version... its definitely a nice piece!
Wish Baltany made all these awesome watches in non fauxtina versions. The only thing stopping from pulling the trigger.

I would love them to make this with a California dial, though I realize they aren't everyone's cup of tea.
I think I prefer the version with the applied indices
did you experienced any difficulty changing straps? I had a really hard time trying to remove the bracelet
Same here -
Finally had success with a tiny spring bar removal tool.
I see you review pd 1751, cronos l6016. do you think this baltany better option?

@@EscapeWheel ah I see, I see. thank you for the answer
Listen, I’m a huge fan of your reviews but… that mustard strap has GOT TO GO! lol
😂 never!
Col Mustard did it in the study with a candlestick
what diff between this and s4056
@@carlocauton3678 same case and bracelet, just a different dial.
I want this exact watch with pretty much any other hands. I simply can't stand Mercedes hands.
Nice piece however Octopus Kraken makes a better more realistic looking Explorer & I own it

If they used anything other than that Mercedes hour hand I’d be all over it
Like the Smith’s PRS 47.
Every Rolex homage fails because they fail to have a decrease in both size and thickness in the bracelet links.
Fixed bezel sports non-dive watches make me snooze. If divers didn’t exist, I’d probably just wear a smartwatch 😂
the thick bezel ruins this model for me.
