Thank you for your valuable tips, I did it, walked into a gallery, ask if they were taking new artists, left my flyer and visit card. She then wrote me that they were not taking new artists. I wrote back and thanked her for her reply and wished her success with her new gallery. The next day she wrote me if i had flower paintings and if she could visit my atelier, which she did and then I sold my first oil in this gallery 😉

Thank you for this video Brainard! Even though we are doing one on one coaching together and you have told me this several times, this talk has fired me up to get out and talk to galleries TOMORROW! I so appreciate you. Keep doing a GREAT job for us career Artists out there.

How can you feel confident when you paint in a representational manner? I know that there are the John Currins of the world but I feel like representational artists are so marginalized. Based on my research most of the galleries that have access to museums seem to show only abstract or conceptual artists.

Do you recommend visiting the galleries in advance, so you know if you are a logical fit to their mission and what they know their customers buy? Should you wait for a response from each gallery before you approach the next one? If not, can't you get yourself in a predicament with getting work prepared? Or, is this easily managed?
