At the time that this occurred she was a minor she can sue him for posting her pictures. She should. Statue of limitations on something like this is 10 years. If you still have any contact with her tell her about it.
If the photos showed any nudity what so ever that's child pornography. FBI takes that VERY seriously. He'd go to jail. Pedos don't do well in jail.

Yea most of the time HR would protect the company assets, and a manager has more value to them than an associate so HR would just run damage control, might even turn on the associate and have them terminated. Don't ever think that a retail company's HR department would actually harm the management. I know from experience.
I worked for a major electronics retailer that had really bad internal theft. I helped the security manager set up hidden cameras, as that was a former job of mine, and she busted the HR manager as being the ringleader of a huge theft/online resale group.
Buuut he had good sales #s. So they fired me for "stepping out of line regarding my job responsibilities, as I was only a sales associate, not loss prevention." All I did was help set up some hidden cameras I never saw the videos from, and only heard about the ring from the security manager. She was written up and suspended for "spying on another manager." And it wasn't a small company... Nor could you mistake employees, in their blue shirts with a yellow logo, as working anywhere else.
They'll NEVER act against their own.
TL:DR I helped catch a manager stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise, and was fired for my involvement. With prejudice, and a blacklist of working in any retail store in that city. (It was a small town strong in the "Good Ol' Boys" club mentality.)

First federal and state laws that GameStop has to obey. This egg person needs to be in jail. And the district manager and also regional manager.
I'm guessing "Egg" is the guy who just threatened to sue. I'm also guessing the common name for Egg may be something that starts with a "Gr"unting sound.
Also too, if Egg was threaten to sue him his lawyer would contact him and not Egg. Egg doesn't have a leg to stand on. Egg needs to realize that defamation of character doesn't apply in less you specify the actual person's name in the video.
No I had to ask around and it was apparently the district manager that was threatening to sue.
He even said in the video when he was texting back and forth with Cody that people are starting to ask questions. Probably meaning his underlings and his fellow district managers and regional managers and people from corporate. He even said "Cody they are going to fire me!" while exchanging messages. Egg was already gone by that point.

Don't have faith in GameStop's HR. They're not great either. I experienced sexual harassment from my manager and the response I received was to either change stores or they could schedule us to not be on the same hours.
He just makes videos to look like a hero after the fact.
Because they will literally fire you... And if you're poor you don't have any legal recourse options to try to fight it......

I do not know if there is a statute of limitations in the US on this but if not I would honestly say that charges be pressed against him, and the people he sent the images to..... Including the DM and RD could be charged also if they received the images.

I work at Gamestop still and I don't doubt this at all but I am so glad my SL and DL are who they are. I got lucky.
A year ago I quit a job with the worst boss ever. He was the owner of a print shop and it was my first Full Time Graphic design job after graduating school. After a year and half of being there and getting things said to me like " my work was too gay" or always having him trying to hit me in the nuts, or the time he told me he would fix my iphone screen if my girlfriend blew him.. I finally quit... and you know what he had the audacity to do? try to sue me and say I took his clients... well lets just say he was unable to sue me and my lawyer wrote the best dis-track ever about that clown.I am not a hateful person, but him... HIM I HATE.

Why didn't anyone call the police
Ran movie theaters for a long time. I had one person come to me with a complaint far more egregious than what the young woman referenced in your video went through. I immediately call HR and let them handle it. The person's claims were unfounded in case you were wondering because when they said the harassment took place the manager was not in the building. I also had someone harass someone directly in front of me once. It was bad. They were summarily terminated. Ive seen men harass women and women harass men. Goes both ways.
My advise for anyone who is subjected to this terrible behavior, is to get an attorney. You need to start documenting. All of the who/what/when/where/how/whys of every inappropriate encounter.

I worked for an evil organization, and I stayed on because I needed to be paid, I needed to make a living. It made me sick to my stomach, but I left as soon as I was able. What Cody is doing is exposing things with insider information. Perhaps he is doing it out of revenge, or maybe as a way to atone, but he is doing it for his reasons...it’s not my place to question that.

When I first got hired at Fry's, there was a store manager who was a real creep when it came to girls. Every time my age came up, even in passing, he would crack up laughing at the thought that I was over 18 and call me a liar. And when the janitor was out for his second back surgery (lazy, fat slob who drank too much soda and got angry if he had to do anything at all), I got a field promotion to maintainence from courtesy clerk as no one would do it. It was a few weeks before Easter and I was doing my rounds on the floor. I came to the seasonal aisle and there was dead moss literally all on the floor. And the manager was setting up an Easter display. As I was passing through and sweeping the moss, he made an unsolicited comment about it looking like his bedroom and then made a statement about a puppy he recently bought. I told him that I don't know how to respond to that and walked away. He thought it was funny and cracked up the same way he did when my age came up. A year passes and he gets transfered to another store where he was fired. Apparently he was under investigation for some time. The reason we were given was regarding the way he scheduled people, which literally everyone else in the company did. I don't know if I buy that. Several other girls reported other weird instances with that manager. Many of us did not want to be alone with him.

Blackmail is a felony. Even though they may have not been nude pictures, they still could have constituted child pornography under the circumstances. You should have 1) Told her parents regardless of her wishes and 2) Reported it to the police. Egg would have been charged with extortion of a minor and faced serious jail time, possibly even having to register as a sex offender, which is exactly what he is.

Well, at least walmart wont put up with that stuff, I have witnessed employees get fired for this kind of stuff (they investigate and get proof)... including one who was inappropriate to me as well.
Similar situation. GameStop didn't take sexual harassment seriously back in 2012 when a coworker/fellow SGA of mine was being sexually harassed by one of the ASMs. Same thing--she was offered a chance to switch to a different store by the higher-ups. The ASM didn't get fired.
How were there never lawsuits when it comes to your stories, Egg, and Game Stop as a whole.
Oh my god, this is giving me flash backs to when I worked at GameStop. I was 17 and my store manager wanted me to wear tighter tank tops instead of normal t shirts. He found every chance he could get to be as close to me as possible, and hugging me. It was so bad that I just stopped showing up to work.
Omg my sister wanted to work for game stop in our home town in high school, and thank SWEET BABY JESUS she did not! I would have come in like a screaming banshee and destroyed someone if something like that happened happened to her. This is terrifying this happened/is happening in work places. I’ve been extremely lucky and have never dealt with anything like this (and I am a woman), but it is so scary because it is apparent how clear it is that some people in corporations do not care. So sad and frustrating...

I worked at Rite Aid for around 8 months in college and I had one of the biggest creeps as a general manager. All the associates were female except for me. I was only hired because they had someone walk out the day I put in an application. This guy would take the two attractive college girls and only work them when he worked. I never saw a shift where they worked when he didn’t. I thought it was odd but it all made sense when I learned he was hyper jealous of anyone who tried to talk to them. A simple “hello” or “how are you” would result in a cut in hours for the next schedule. He would try and text them late at night even though he was in his mid-forties with a wife and a kid.
Hey Cody, I REALLY hope you see this. I want to say that I have been and will continue to be.m a supporter, and I’ve been watching your videos for a while now. We have even had a convo on Twitter. I have found the videos to be great. Things like this NEED to be shared. That being said, I am really disappointed with this video. I am sorry, but this story shouldn’t have been a DM issue, or even an RGM issue. Hell this isn’t even an HR issue. This is/was an issue for your local police department! I can’t believe you are retelling this story, and you are doing your quick cuts, and your funny quips and repartee, and this girls experience was destroyed. According to your stories it sounds like “egg” wouldn’t have a problem “getting rid of” someone who bring him down. I, again, apologize and I don’t mean to come off all serious, but I don’t find any humor in this video. This girl was failed by her Manager, her, DM, her RGM, heck even her peers. I’m happy that she can look back on this, and laugh about it, but I bet when it was happening she was probably petrified! I implore you to, at this point, and at the very least, blow the whistle on at least the DM/RGM. They all need to be held accountable at this point. I hope you will read this, and again consider what I have said. I really don’t mean to come off as antagonizing or a “troll” because that truly is not my intent. When I was 19 I worked a job where we weren’t allowed to clock out ourselves, the manager had to do it for us basically and you had to go to his office for that. He always made me give him a kiss on the cheek or else I wasn’t allowed to leave. I did it because it was my first REAL job and I had no comparison so I just had gotten used to it. Makes me shiver now, thinking about it 5 years later....
We can only hope Egg and that DM get energy sworded one day...

A girl who worked for my local Gamestop has reported similar incidents of her DM purposely dropping shit and making the girls pick it up.
Happens all the time. There's also a lot of "acquaintance rape" that happens in small shops where only 2 people are on duty at a time. Hardly any of it gets reported for the same reasons you mention: Young girls who are overpowered by authority figures (bosses) and who also find out the hard way that Corporate HR is there to protect the company bosses, not the workers.

I wish this was a one off case but it happens everywhere. At staples we had 2 assistant managers that did very similar things. After enough women complained about one of them they promoted him to a store manager so that he could move to another store. He then transferred several times after that every time a woman spoke up.
Companies usually reflect the personality of its leaders. No surprise the leadership of Gamestop are often toxic, cliquish creeps.

I dont know if anyone noticed but he has a terminator Cutout next to his MK machine. Terminator just came out on Tuesday just a fun little Easter egg. I also dont know if this was purposeful but it made me laugh a bit.
A similar situation happened to a girl I worked with, but the harassment came from other employees. The manager did all he could to schedule her away from those employees. Some would come up to the store after the shifts or on off days and say crude things. She openly asked to work with me and no one else because I treated her as a person. You know, not being innapropriate, and doing my job. She eventually got tired of the other ghetto ass dumpster divers that we worked with not leaving her alone and quit. Fast forward 6 months later I run into her at Gap where she's working, she gets weirdly excited and hugs me, asking how I am and all. Give the usual chit chat I'm good and such and figure that's it and I go about my shopping.
Here's where it gets weird.
Girl finds me on Myspace, befriends one of my "friends", chats with them and gets my phone number. Starts texting me. Started off friendly enough, but I guess I didn't make it clear enough with my vacant responses I wasn't interested. I told her I was married and not interested in continuing communication with her. This apparently set her off. She stopped texting me for a couple months. I figured the problem was taken care of, and my wife was getting pretty upset by it. This girl wasn't average looking, she was very attractive, and I think that because of her looks, the inability to respect boundaries, and the fact my wife had just had our second child, she was fearing the worst. But the few months of silence did us well until.......she showed up at my house with a friend of mine. I invited him over to watch the Bengals, he asked if he could bring a girl he was seeing. Guess who it was. So my wife immediately tell them to leave. My buddy completely shocked and bewildered gets mad. The whole encounter becomes a shit show but they end up leaving without much of an incident. I called him a few days later to explain the situation. He thought it was crazy and didn't take what I was saying as true, but rather that I "didn't want to see him happy with someone he finds 'hot'."
So now she knows where I live. She starts coming to my house once a week knocking in the door. My wife wouldn't answer. Neither of us would. One day she starts yelling at the windows in the front of my house she was pregnant with my child. Which made my wife very upset, with me but more so with her. To give context, I was never anything more than professional with this girl. So this flat out lie was an attempt to cause problems between my wife and I. My wife opened the door, and they had a heated argument which ended with me pulling them apart in my yard. I ended up calling the police, and filing a RO on her, which she actually followed. That was 2005, I've never seen or heard from her since.

if there was enough witnesses the police should have been called and they would also review the cameras. The boyfriend did nothing and you guys didn't at least contact a lawyer to see if you have a case. You guys dropped the ball and just contacted a corrupt DM. You do realize egg would have a death sentence on him in prison? Hoods get bonus points for beating guys like him everyday, justice would have been served.
We had a store manager that had really suspicious pictures of (seemingly) minors on his phone that he kept showing us, and he was really creepy to young girls that came in the store, we all got him out of there promptly.
She should have just went to the police directly.
I would have went straight to the authorities about this. 1. It's gross and illegal. She was a minor. Statutory rape, child pornography, sexual harassment, extortion, etc. 2. I would be bringing a whole hell of a lot of legal action not only against Egg, but the DM and RD and then in turn the entire company for allowing this to take place without taking proper measures against the offender. And 3. At the very least, make sure this dude gets locked up and registered as a sex offender.
Egg is lucky no one called the FBI on him and reported his blackmail and possession of child porn since the pictures are likely considered child porn. Also the touching could be reported to the police as sexual assault and the DM could be identified to the police and FBI as an accomplice.
I mean if she was my "family" as Camelot says she is, calling the cops is priority one.
People always think HR is there to protect you. Nope. HR is there to protect the company from you.

God that’s creepy. I had a manager at GS who texted one of our female employees in the middle of the night. He told her that he wanted to come in through her window and do things to her in her bed. I didn’t find this out til after she quit. I asked her why didn’t she report this to HR. She told me she didn’t want to cause problems and she rather just quit. It wasn’t the only time this happened with this SM. He still works GameStop. He even was dating another manager. Which got promoted because she was sleeping with him. Other female employees who deserved it more got passed over because they turned him down. Shit creeps me out still to this day.

The problem is that HR is there to protect the company, not the people. It's fairly normal for HR to do little to nothing. However it's also difficult to get a company to believe a lower level employee over a manager, especially so when one is a teen.
That DM is a terrible human being for doing nothing to stop a little girl from being harassed. and I can't believe Gamestop allows it to happen. I hope it burns to the ground.

Why wouldn't you/her go to HR or Contact her parents and escalate accordingly!!! That's a HUGE potential for lawsuit against the company.

It's funny how everyone has had an EGG in their lives at some point or another. Had almost a same type of dude when I worked at ToysRUs in the Electronics 'RZone' back in the day. Overweight, chain-smoked so always smelled like shit, bragged about all the girls he'd been with the night before, had one of those creepy Seth Rogen laughs whenever he'd spot a hot chick in the store, and just made a living nightmare for anyone that worked with him during the shift. My EGG got fired while I was still working there for stealing Dreamcast games, but some people definitely aren't as lucky and have to deal with these folk on a daily basis.
