I'm just catching up on Delia videos, having recently found her on here. I'm a little shocked at how many people feel it's okay to leave rude comments, to be honest. I will definitely try this one, and hope more "One is Fun" episodes turn up. This is probably a bit large for me, but I appreciate the demo, knowing I can adjust it for just me. It might be perfect for my husband, though! I'm excited to try it. I'm excited to find some traditional Brithish recipes to try. I love Jamie, and Nigella, and now I love Delia, too.

I was going to comment about the portion size too big for one but everyone and their mom beat me to it.

It does seem like a lot for one person (unless this was your only decent sized meal of the day). I suppose you could freeze some of this if you find the portion is too big.

5 big sausages for just one person? Delia could have used cocktail sausages (about 8 is enough) instead.

      They’re not big sausages - they’re chipolatas.

What is a Cipolata? Is it a specific type of sausage?

    • @hemmay

A chipolata is just a thinner sausage than the usual larger one.

lol its so crude, and a bit over cooked. Fine for 1980, but i don't think many folk would enjoy this today. I love how delia cooks really unhealthy food and then says "this is comfort food, it isn't meant to be eaten everyday!" hmmm yes the rest of the time we're on lettuce to stop are arteries from closing over. But you gotta love her, i have stacks of her books. lol.

Isn't it strange. Lots of people can barely cook at all, and some people put masses and masses of effort in to cooking. There doesn't seem to be much in the middle though. I mean people will make oven chips and burgers or what have you, but it doesn't seem like all that many people mix ingredients much.

@TheRenaissanceman65 We all love Delia and Delia´s cooking but we are not blind like you. This looks pretty awful. A couple of saussages is plenty for one person considering that we also like our batter nice and puffed and not flattened by so many toads!

I thought it looked okay for a quick portion for 1 instead of making the full sized version. It doesn't look quite as good, but I didn't think it was terrible.
