PSALM 40:1-2
I waited patiently for the Lord to help me,
and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair,
out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground
and steadied me as I walked along.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING!
Only a few seconds into your presentation I pressed the like button, as I always do because I know that I will learn something, or be reminded of something very useful....And with that, I will be thoroughly entertained!.... And blessed as you always give the Lord all the glory that is due! Keep up the wonderful work!!
Same
Me too. Lol
My grandfather used to fish off downed trees in a clear water Ozark stream. He used a cane pole and dipped minnows between the limbs...Always got big crappie that way.
If a university ever wanted to create a fishing class, I would 10,000% vouch for you to be the instructor.
You're videos have been absolutely paramount to my development as a fisherman.
You're, hands down, not just a master fisherman. You're also a fantastic teacher.
Through your videos, I was able to put food on the table during some real hard times in my life.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Richard seems to have more knowledge than most of the guide's I've ever used on new lakes. He reminds me a lot of my grandpa in that regard. Most of the time it seems most of them are just going where they have dropped stake beds. If the bite is not particularly on that day, then there have been many of times where we just jumped from marker to marker all day long until we find anything. I could do that with my own graphs and that's why I stopped paying for guides. Every time Richard fishes his local holes, I feel like he knows his water so well that he can pretty much predict how they are going to behave on any particular day and compensate accordingly. I would love to fish with him as a guide. It would be almost priceless.
Richard you should teach fishing techniques at a university! You are the man! Great show, your friend from Tennessee!🦌
I follow well more than a dozen fishing channels on TH-cam, but the combination of being so upbeat, and offering excellent instruction makes this my favorite, by far! I can't get enough!!
This dude puts fish in the boat, and a smile on my face watching and hearing him. Reminds me of my grandad from the Ozarks. Happy people are fun to be around.
The weed guard is definitely the trick for fishing downed trees and cover. Thanks for the tip, now I can fish all of the areas that I have wanted to but was afraid to because of getting snagged.
@@ARCSTREAMS yeah you probably are true for most of us but Richard seems to do just fine. I try every suggestion he gives out and it's been working for me.
I do my Bible study in the morning and when I get done I go fishing with you Richard Gene. Get me through the day. I really enjoy watching you. May God bless you and all your viewers this day
Love you richard! I never even knew where to start with jig fishing, it was just something I didn't grow up with. Now I'm jiggin around like a Champ! I'm even fishing with the jigs too.
I could watch you all day and night while catching them they're crappie. You sure are good at it. Thank you for another lesson and a great video.
Love your videos Richard, it's a bright spot in my day ! Those are pretty nice vehicles behind you, I'm so happy for you and your success on TH-cam, blessed be to you and your family.
RGTFM is without a doubt my favorite channel second to none. You’re always sharing how to be successful while putting a big smile on my face.
You’ve hooked another one as big as aunt Myrtle. (Maybe bigger)
Thank you Sir for all your great content and knowledge that you share!! I've honestly learned alot by watching your videos!!
Just got done fishing and come home to a RGTFM video and my wife made homemade bread and lasagna. What a great Sunday. 👍
Awesome video Richard !
You are the best my friend 🎣
I recently retired, have always wanted to fish so I googled "how to fish Crappie" and your videos came up. You taught me how to make a weedless jig, how to look for spots to fish from the bank and the best times for fishing. After modifying several jigs, I went out for the very first time and caught 15 nice sized crappies (haven't lost a jig yet thanks to your videos). Thank you so much for helping me understand what these fish like and how to catch them. I'm a little northwest from you in southern Illinois and your instructions hold true here as well. I'm absolutely hooked on fishing now, can't wait to go out and fish every moment I can.
wow.....that was your first time ever fishing, and you caught 15?? good for you man!
@@ronyeahright9536 I probably could have worded my post better. I've never fished for any specific species of fish. I've been watching Richard's videos for about a month and a half now. I went fishing last evening at sunset because Richard mentioned crappie were feeding "mornings and evenings" in his last video. I spent yesterday afternoon making a few weed-less jigs, per his instructions, even down to the knots (the quarter inch loop) because I like the way my jig travels thru the water that way, more realistic. Caught 5 crappie, 2 large-mouth bass and 1 blue gill. I'm absolutely hooked on fishing now because of The Fishing Machine. Before this, I rarely caught anything and coming home after sitting around all day looking at a bobber with no fish stories to talk about, sucked.
@@jeffsholtes1594 still, way to go! RGTFM gave me appreciation for catching panfish, and the art to it. I'm mostly a bass fisherman, and when i'd "accidentally" catch a blue gill, perch, crappie, I'd be like..." blah, just a little guy, where the hell are the bass?".....now I appreciate the little guys, and even target them when the bass just arent biting.
@@ronyeahright9536 Thanks, I really appreciate that. I partied with friends last night, and of course I brought up fishing. Spoke about what a great teacher RGTFM is and how he changed the way I fish and how I went from 0 to 60 overnight, they were all so happy for me. It also helps to have somewhere close to fish, I'm truly blessed.
@@jeffsholtes1594 keep partying, and keep fishing!
The learning curve of trial and error (tried figuring it out before the age of the internet and all but gave up) that you are flattening is phenomenal. With your great videos I'm starting to get my daughter into fish. (She's 7 so lull's lead to drama.)
I have never subscribed to any other channel, but your channel I just could not resist. You are one of the most informative fisherman I have ever seen on tv TH-cam or anywhere else, you talk to the audience not at the audience. My props to you sir. I look forward to seeing you in future videos and watching all the ones that I've missed out on. Thank you for what you do and for who you are oh, you are no doubt a fisherman second to none.
This is some of the best fishing advice you’ll find. Thank you Richard!
I really like it when you explain in detail what you are doing on the water. It is very helpful. This demonstration with the tree limb on the back of your truck is an example. Thanks.
I learned a lot from you. Each time I watch your video , it gives me motivation to catch crappie. You're the best. Thank you.
Thank you, just learning to fish and you have the only videos I've seen that gives all the details on equipment and know-how.
Hello Mr Richard I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos well here in Florida crappie fishing is hard because of the weather conditions well anyway I am one of your biggest fans and supporters as well
I recently moved from North Georgia to mid Florida. And I don't have an idea where to go catch a crappie.
Are you still catching in Florida? I’m in central Florida and haven’t had many this year 😢
Richard,we fish a lot of 1lb.test and 1/64oz. Jigs.I like to wind drift, let the jig go to the bottom, then lift up and let the wind bow your line ,this will move the bait along like in fly fishing .when the line jurks straight set the hook
How does Richard not ha e more subscribers? This man is the BEST fisherman I have ever seen, much less on TH-cam! I know it's just TH-cam, but richard has a way of making you feel like you can catch fish just like he does. Every time I watch a video of his, I gain a little bit more confidence in myself. Thank you Richard for being yourself and taking time out of your day to teach us about life and fishing!
The crappie G.O.A.T. Unbelievable how much fishing knowledge machine has.
Thanks for taking the time to explain your tactics and share your experience with us!! I always learn something from each of your videos!! Thank you!!

You’re the best and I like your ambition to provide interesting content that goes beyond fishing.
We been all over the Crapdogs up here in Morgantown WV!! Catching some slabs, using a Crappie Magnet, gold heads with chartreuse or orange body's!! No better eating than Crappie or Walleye imo !! We are on some 6lb+ Small Mouths as well !!
Great video so much wisdom and knowledge you should definitely have a televised show.
I enjoyed watching this video Richard.
Hey Richard, how well does putting a bobber in near the branches in the water, do? Thanks!!! Love the video!
RICHARD, greetings from Tennessee. Once again great video. I learn so much from you. Besides being a GREAT FISHERMAN you have a superior ability to communicate and as I like to say "break things down Big Bird - Cookie Monster style ". I have been using your weedless jig tying technique and it works great . I have learned a lot from you and can hardly wait for you to post the next video. Can't wait to put this technique to action this spring. I am a big fan and hope to get to meet you some day, we love you up here in TN. Stay safe we will be watching.. JT
Very informative intro Richard 👏 👌 Solid advice.....thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
Bank fishing is so much fun using 6 to 8ft rods, panfishing is my favorite/ Fish On.
I sure enough have to get rid the worry of those thick trees. They can be cruel to my tackle. Thanks as usual!
Thank you for sharing your talent with us sir. Can you link the video of how to make the weedless jig.
Clarence got the green apple piles! I heard that comment at the last. Pepto bismo to the rescue. Wooooo.
Loved it as always! Hope to meet you sometime. You are my all-time favorite. You educate, entertain, and you keep things interesting. Thank you. God bless you to overflowing.
Mr. Richard Gene is the crappie master
I've had great luck with the "Richard rig" with a blue thunder bobby Garland here in Conroe Texas
When I was a kid I watched Bill Dance. My 3 year old gets to watch Richard Gene the fishing machine!
OK, up here in N Idaho, just learning slowly about crappie. My buddy and I got a fish finder this week, and we'll be putting it on the boat, trying to learn how to mount it, use it, and help find fish once they spread out after the spawn. Got a Hummingbird Helix 5 DI, G2. Any recommendations or tips and tricks on mounting?
Shew you make casting those light jigs into brush with wind look easy. That’s most of the battle.
I really enjoy your videos. Great content Richard.
Love your channel RG! Thanks from East TN.
Love your channel sir. Would love to see you come up and fish middle Tennessee lakes some. I'm local to Normandy lake and woods reservoir.
God bless you for sharing all your knowledge.♥

Thank you brother, check every day to see if you have shared a fishing trip.

Really like the simplicity of your boat! What model is it
So I made up a bunch of weedless jigs using your method, can’t wait to try it out. Thanks for so much info.
Steve do you have a link for that video teaching his method? Thanks in advance if you do
@@kmontrose888
I don’t know how to send a link but if you check out his videos it is titled “ How to make weedless jig. Sorry
@@steverollins7904 ok thx you Steve 👍
Man, I feel like I'm gonna catch some crappie up here in Tennessee. Excellent video. This is uncommon knowledge. Thanks for all you do. Be safe.
I'm going to retire next year to Lake Guntersville. My dream is to be able to catch Crappie from my dock most of the year. What part of the lake would you move to? Not sure if the draw down would make a difference. How low does the water get? Were would you move to? Thanks Absolutely love your videos. Thank You, Roll Tide Roll
Top notch as usual. 👍 Only one thing, since you read all comments, at times you say a jig is: 1/128 oz or are you saying 1/28 oz, ??? Seems like 1/28 is a little heavier than 1/32 jig and 1/128 is four times lighter than 1/32 jig. Please clarify,. Thank you. 😀 So much for a reply forget it 👎
Thank you Richard for all you do God Bless you and your family always my friend 🙏
Awesome. I learn something from you every time.
Mr. Richard making crappie TH-cam Stars! I've always liked night fishing over large brush piles.
Your the best !!! Fun to watch you catching all those nice crappy !!!
Thanks love the set up & method. Mark south Louisiana
Really enjoy your videos. Do you have a link to the jig heads and jigs you are using?
Thank you RGTFM!🤘🏽🤘🏽🇺🇸👊🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Good stuff RC. The wind often helps us with fishing but not so much when shooting videos...I feel ur pain.
Thanks for the lesson.
Richard Gene the Crappie King
Another great video, packed with information!! Thanks Richard!! Roll Tide!!🏈
Gene love your videos, I have been trying to find the video you made showing how to made the seedless jig. Could you give me the link, thanks so much in advance. Keep up the great work
I am using a lot of your tips thank you
There’s A Spot I Got On The Black Warrior River That Has So Many Trees People Cant Fish It…But It’s Huge Crappie In There! I Would Love To See You Fish This Spot!
Maaaaannn!!! Thanks for the encouragement to get into the trees!!
Richard this might seem silly but I'm having a hard time keeping my boat anchored in thos wind. I'm using 10 pound mushroom anchor front and rear of my boat, what am I doing wrong? I find big pile of crappie with my livescope but I can't stayed positioned on them save my life. please help a brother out.
I ENJOY WATCHING YOU FISH FOR CRAPPIE I WOULD LOVE TO GO FISHING WITH YOU SOMETIME AND FISH FOR CRAPPIE AND LEARN SOME TRICKS ON CATCHING CRAPPIE
Another great instructional video from you. 💖👍
Really enjoy your videos! Every once in a while it would be good to see a clean and cook. Just saying. Down home fella' like yourself must have a simple, go to, good eatin' recipe! Yum, yum!
Informative video! What string were you using? 🤠💯👍
That 1st crappie was a good one 👍
Love ya brother! I’ll be trotting over to bass pro for those 2” baby shad. 😀😀
I had made some of Richard's weed less jigs awhile back but still hesitated to throw into a tree top. I watched this video, made me some more and headed to the lake. I said the heck with it and threw right at the crotch of tree and branch. I only lost one jig the whole day and I think that was because my guard was off center. Walmart didn't have any cheap 35 lb test, I ended up using 50 lb. We'll see what the fish have to say.
Around Louisiana we call those BIG crappie "Hubcap"and say they are as big as a saddle blanket
Good video! I am going to make some of those weed guards.😊👍👍
Hey there buddy ,thank you so much for teaching us about crappie fishing, and those are some real Jim Dandys . JOHN 1:17
Does anyone know where that light action eagle claw rod can be purchased??
ill look for it later but id love to see the video where you install your weed gaurds on your jigs. In KY on the bank all you can really fish is branches haha
Your ans very good fisherman keep up the good work.
