You two are so inspiring!! Becks is working so hard on all the plumbing - and who wouldn't want a seasoned spider remover to be hard at work in the background earning his keep??!! :-P Can't wait to see the Whistling Wombat take shape and set sail!!
Bless you thanks for your kind words, weve really been thrown into the deep end 😂😂
Hi Bex’s and Chris.
Bex you are doing a magnificent job with all of your plumbing work, one suggestion would be the use of bigger diameter tubes literally going the length of your Boat, you can then use these tubes as conduit for whatever pipe and cables you need ( 4" tubes,it depends how you want to do it but if you have 2 one side and 1 the other you then have conduit for pipe work and cable a plenty).
Regarding your ballast, personally I would seriously consider removing all of the higgledy piggledy bits and pieces of concrete/slab/rock ? And replacing it with some 4" or 6" drainage tubes cut to length for each compartment in the bilge and filled with Swarf ( metal shavings from a local metalworking factory or fabrication place ) and you then Seal the tubes with screw on end caps….. weigh each one and write the weight on the actual tubes but make a separate note of where the tubes are in the bilge…..that way if your boat is a little bit heavier ( sitting heavy ) at the front or back you can look at where you have what weight and move it around a lot easier because you have a ' Plan ' and because of it being in tubes it’s easier to move ( and wedge in place ).
When you fill each tube with the metal shavings( swarf ) give each tube a squirt of expanding foam ( YOU don’t need a lot ( so keep Chris away from that job lol 😂 ).
You use 4" or 6" depending on how much of a gap you have in your bilge but be careful as the gap isn’t always exactly 6" and take into consideration the thickness of the floor etc.
It makes life a lot easier for when you say : refit the kitchen and you get that weight shift or even when you get a new bed or sofa etc ! It’s amazing how much difference in the weight distribution on the boat a sofa can make an rather than having a tilting or listing boat you can just move the tubes around under the floor and distribute the weight perfectly 🤷♂️.
I told someone about this Tip and they tried it out because they always had problems with the back of the boat sitting down heavy and the front light, because of that they were always getting leaks in the front of the boat, when they moved the weight distribution by using the tubes the boat sat perfectly in the water from then on !! It took them a while with trial and error but they were refitting their boat with New kitchen and bathroom etc.
Poor Chris….. he really doesn’t like Spiders does he ?. Best not to mention to him that no matter where we are we are always actually only 6' away from a Spider 🕷️ 😱.
Spiders don’t like Cinnamon ( why in a lot of houses you have cinnamon sticks in bunches hanging up ) but one of the best things to keep spiders away is Lavender !.
It’s why our Nana’s used to have Lavender pouches everywhere in their bedroom,to keep Spiders away 🤷♂️.
Smells nice too !!.
Another Great Video Guys ❤
Well dine Bex and you to Chris hugs ti both tc the oldies 🤗🤗
Thanks guys have a fantastic week ❤️😊
Next time, I suggest that you use the ‘old’ pipe to pull the ‘new’ pipe through. Just butt join them together with duct tape.
Thats a great idea
Hi Guy's, Great work as always Becca and Chris is doing well on the Canopy removing all sorts of gifts from above 😮 😊
Keep it up Guy's loving ❤️ your lovely Vlogs 😊❤😊xx
Thank you for following our adventure 😊❤️
Really impressed with Becs knowledge on pipes ❤.
shes an expert in pipes 😂😂
😂😂
Impressed with the immense bravery shown with the spiders. Loved the launch of the one ‘ was it dead - ping ‘. Great vlog. Bless u. Soon be winter 😂 🎉
All ready for winter cruising 😂😂 Thanks so much for the support Trevor
Brilliant job Rebecca 👍
Thanks ❤️
Bex is the perfect Mrs. She likes diy. Gets a buzz going to part stores. She's a keeper mate. But keep the receipt for her just in case.
😂😂 Thanks Will, She does so well bless her 😊❤️
Chris you’re not giving yourself a lil pat on the back for putting in the hours editing your adventures and THE most excellent cover cleaning 👌🏻I’m surprised you didn’t get titan involved in vacuuming all the cobwebs on the covers- I’m also scared silly by them and have always resorted to vacuuming them up and asking a friend to go empty them outside 🙄😆(the crazy things you do for the fear🤣😂) Bless you Bex for somehow having the patience of a saint and being uber flexible doing all the pipework. I can imagine you’re both going crazy having to move everything out of the way to get the work done. Keep going you’re getting there 🤗🤗
Use a Flamethrower...Its quicker and you can pretend your in Aliens.....
@@Simon-xc5oy now you’re talking 😂🤣
Thanks for the love and support, yes alot of work has gone into the editing which alot of people do forget, but I can handle it 😂😂 and yeah exactly...you cant just learn those cleaning techniques over night 😂😂 Bex has had to put up with alot, im supposed shes stuck it out this long 😂😂
I always look forward to you guys uploading! Me and my partner have been watching your whole series for a while now! You actually inspired us to just go for it and get our first narrow boat!
Thanks so much for the love and support, most narrowboat life is quite different from ours...weve just been thrown in right at the deep end
Well I’ve fallen in love with Bex over the last 5-6 vlogs. Sorry Chris 😂❤
That's amazing, Bex is awesome ❤️❤️
@@TheNomadicCrobot love you too really Chris!! Me and the missus move onto a boat full time on Aug 12th. So hope to see you on the canals for a beer or 6 ❤
Thanks for the cover cleaning. We did get the instructions from Titan but good to see it works. Keep up the good work and hope you get to set off soon 🤞
Thank you and congrats on your new sparkly covers
Great works Becs, I'm sure Chris will try and jump in and finish the work to take the credit for it 😆
oh god yes 😂
Chris, you are going to have to get out and give the outside of the boat a good scrub down!
woaw...I could make a whole video on it 😂
I would never be without my trusty spider catcher, the plastic grabber type. I've got a vacuum one as well but once sucked up the spiders tend to just stay inside.
Great bit of kit...iv got the sucker edition
Bex I’m lost for words, amazing mate absolutely amazing. Chris you did a great job on the covers. Glad you told us about the vinegar I can use it on our pop up caravan. It was brave doing it as SPIDERS, SPIDERS in those little spots. Great seeing you. Take care. 🥰
Bex does it time and time again, and im slowly getting better with the spiders 😂 Thank you so much Pauline ope you have fantastic week
Brilliant jobs from both of you. Loved the vlog 👍
Thank you ❤️
Dear Chris and Becca,
Chris you are a man of many talents. If you aren't an amazing entertainer or dish washer you are an incredible window cleaner. Good money in that by the way.
Becca here is a super big cyber hug just for you. What perseverance girl, the end is in sight.
By the way Becca, one tool better than a multitool is a chainsaw.
Mark
Alberta, Canada
Hi Mark, Im really showing of farrr to much especially with my cleaning techniques...whatever next?? woaw could you imagine if I let Bex loose on a Chain saw...know were talking 😂😂
One more tool for the tool kit. lol. Hey Chris you also have duck rearing on your resume. By the way what has happened to your feathered GF@@TheNomadicCrobot
Visiting UK from Australia at the moment. By chance, I drove through St Neots a few days back on way from Cotswolds to Norfolk. I should have just dropped by unannounced. I bet you would have really loved that. It wouldn't have been creepy, or weird, or unsettling in any way :-D
oh amazing, we would have loved to have said hello 😊❤️
I hope you get it all done before the end of summer if it ever arrives
fingeres crossed...what a long journey
Wow look at the sparkle on that pram hood and hatch cover ! Just like new !! Bex you’ve done an awesome job! You deserve a holiday ! X it’s getting closer though guys. See ya next week botties ! lol x
Im well proud of my deep cleanse 😂😂Bes definitely needs a holiday...hang on isn't narrowboat life a permanent holiday???😂 have a lovely week Mandy x
If you can not attach the new pipe to the old one , to pull them both through .Try attaching some cord to the old pipe before pulling it through and use that to pull the new pipe through 😊 The same goes with any replacement wire’s .
Great vlog… you’re probably getting your ears bashed regarding using the old pipe to pull your new one through… you may want to plug any of these pipes as you pull them through as they may pick up debris along the way and eventually find their way into to your expensive calorifier and filters etc… good job
Bless you for this Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Hmm, seems Chris is getting a little use to those spiders. Wow, there's a lot of clutter in your boat Bex. Sure makes doing jobs harder.
yeah something must be up with him...hes never this happy to be around them
Well done guys 👍💪 and loved the hot sweaty look Becks you need to keep that hair design....😅
😂😂 Thank you 😊
I love your channel really do but my ocd is in meltdown mode when I see you stuff everywhere haha I can't wait to see you get out cruising iv been there it's very frustrating but enjoyable 😂
Thanks Tom, it is a bit of a tip, that's the story pretty much summed up after 3 years 😂😂
😂 your going great you will enjoy cruising very soon and can't wait to see your future videos best of luck 👍 🛥🛥
Next time try taping the new pipe to the old. Pull the old out and hey presto the new pipe will be in place.
I Never thought of that, Thank you 😊❤️
Try the vinegar and water mix in a spray bottle next time.
good idea
Great work both 👍
Thank you so much 😀
You're both amazing!! Wow!
Bless you Thank you ❤️😊
Get a bottle of Premetherin spray and hit the nooks and crannies of the covers every few weeks and that will get rid of the spiders!
great shout thanks
Blimey you need a serious declutter of that boat, it makes working on it twice as hard.
your not wrong, just were do we put it all???
good vid on channel of work your doing thanks lee
Thanks Lee ❤️ 😊
Hey guys we just bought our 1st boat (yikes), we may need some lock lessons from you 😅
oh woaw what sort of boat did you go for?? how exciting , any time Lisa..weve just about nailed it after 3 years 😂😂
It's a Shetland 4+2 river cruiser, a small boat to many but a bloody monster to us novices 😆 🤣 😂
Do you still need more coffee, even when you're finished the pipes.
I mean, then you might brew your own?
now were talking, think of the possibilities the boat will bring
😊
Why follow the grey pipe going behind the wood panel, just continue flush mounting pipes
good point???? Bex????
Thanks
Bless you for this, Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Chris is st Neots not in Cambridgeshire?
you have a very good point... how the hell did I mess that one up 😂😂
Watching this, p@ssed as a f@rt, unsure what is happening, but I love the Crobots, lmao.
😂😂😂 thank you Doug
Bex I am worried about say he is hard and rusty not very nice of you calling your other half that 😂
😂😂😂
Where are you guys 😢?
Hi Sharon, sorry it's been a tough month, thankfully we have managed to get one up today 😀 ❤
Softly, softly, catchee monkey, i just hope this one has the hot water 🙂
fingeres crossed 😂😂
Xx
You just jinxed yourself…will just take minutes🤦♀️
oops😢
Don't jinx yourself with saying it will take minutes to do.
good point 😂😂
C, 50% water 50% vinegar and a teaspoon of dishwasher liquid, a great cleaner , the vinegar will also keep the critters away
woaw thanks, and all very cheap yayyyy
