So someone on SoundCloud said that it was his friend named Michael and his band named "Sparkplug" from Canada back in the day. They weren't signed to a label but they posted their songs to radio stations. They didn't give much more information after that.
sounds like the kind of band that has a discography. as opposed to some one-off. my guess is its another Canadian band. whoever the vocalist is, they know what they're doing.
Got some info from r/iwastemytime, there's a strong lead of Midnight Believers, they are a Lithuanian band, who would play time to time in different areas.
this song sounds like it would have been a fucking hit back in the 2000s, surprised a song of this quality is lost
it's insane how this song hasn't been found yet omg..
First EKT, then La Cancion de Alicia and now this? In one month? This really is the year of lostwave
After ulterior motives, this may be the next most mysterious song on the internet.
This song sounds so familiar but it just may sound similar to another song I used to listen to on the radio when I was little
i love how each lost media has a certain something, like “Just a game” has a stick figure and dice, EKT has a pink radio, and this has barney
it looks more like a demo just waiting to be found and sampled
somebody reply to me if this ever gets found bc i think it sounds really good and im curious who made it :((
My question is how did barney get associated with this song

this song was weirdly just what i needed today. i wish it were real
barney is happy now!
It’s so hard to make out what he’s saying, and the lyrics make no sense but this is actually rly catchy
It's sounds like a stokes unreleased demo, very familiar sounding, or it could be from a small 2000's band. Sad how gems like these get lost.

the singer's voice reminds me of paul banks from interpol
[SOLVED!] The Burns - Avail
Reminds me of The Strokes and Last Dinosaurs, very 2000s. I love it
