Thanks for sharing! A tip I can share, to clean your grinder, consider trying rice. a little goes a long way and has the added benefit of absorbing the flavors of your previous grind!
Love your Windows and the wintry tree view. What à paradise. Ginger is one of my daily staples both eating fresh raw root or semi cooking it, like with the powder it is bliss, calms my ulcer pain too.
Terrific idea l. Just want to add that if you dried it in a dehydrator at lower than 115 degrees, I believe, the enzymes and other life forces and nutrients would not be killed as much so the dried ginger would have much more nutritive value.
I like the cut of your jib. I mean, just the overall vibe of the video, pleasant, informative, nice . My ginger is baking now as we speak...gonna make gingerbread cookies in August!
Just a thought...Immediately after grinding your garlic, clean the grinder but don't throw away that salt, save it. It's garlic salt! Thanks for another great video.
wow that looks amazing all you got out like that and the color and fineness looks like it was purchased lol ,, i had no idea it was that easy to make this stuff ,but do you not loose any beneficial products when using ground or dried ginger as oppose to fresh?
I find that when I turn on the oven to dehydrate things that it uses WAY to much electricity so I put a 60 or 75 watt light bulb in the bottom of oven with a piece of aluminum foil over it to block most of the light works like a charm and a lot easier on the electric bill.
Better Done Yourself...I DO in fact own one...I have just begun to make my own Sprouted flour which entails of course sprouting the wheat berries for about 24 hours and then dehydrate them. This is the only way I can properly digest grains like wheat. Btw, I sure do appreciate all that you are sharing here with us on YT! I'm getting "addicted" to your channel! LOL
Better Done Yourself ... if you do indeed do a series on proper preparation of grains then I would really look forward to your input on this topic as well!
Great idea, but let's be practical here. This is more of a hobby or a challenge than a cost saver. Unless you grow your own, it cost money to buy the ginger and time/money to turn it into powder. The money you will spend on your gas and electric bill using the oven must factor in.
I dehydrate all the time and yet to see any real change in my electric bill. If you factor in gas/public transportation fees and time... Store bought is way more expensive.
Agree. For me it’s a net loss. I buy organic ginger powder from the Whole Foods store for $22/lb. Can be found cheaper online if you wanna trust it. So anyway last night I tried this route. 2 lbs of ginger root from the supermarket was $8. By the time I dehydrated and ground it, I ended up with about 2 oz. So that’s $64 a lb, not counting the energy from 4 hours in the oven, and 2 more hours in the air fryer to get it dry, and getting that extra heat out of my house. (I didn’t have a cooling rack so I used 2 cookie sheets.) Or my time.
Looooove how you dont skip technique. I feel i thoroughly understand and i havent even finished the video yet. Great work! Instant sub

You can also peel a whole ginger with a spoon.

How long does it last do I have to refrigerate it?
6 months. No. It's dry and not susceptible to rot.
Big Brother. I Love it . Thank you Thank you.
Thank you so much
How long is a couple hours? Actual 2 hours or a vague number?
PSYCHOSTORM32 A vague number. Depends on the weather and your oven
I was wondering the same exact thing
Beautiful!!
No, that's fine. Just push everything back down and put the bags back.
Do I need to off the oven if is too hot
How about using a dehydrator?
TheChefLady4JC Sure. If you have one!
Better Done Yourself...I DO in fact own one...I have just begun to make my own Sprouted flour which entails of course sprouting the wheat berries for about 24 hours and then dehydrate them. This is the only way I can properly digest grains like wheat.

Long ago at the supermarket. I scoured the Internet but I can't find anything like it :(
Thank you. fun
Hey wouldnt the salt have a sort of garlic flavor to it?
Also i want to lick the salt air that puffed out lol
Will the fresh ginger powder spoil in the pantry?
Diann Cotterell I still have some from shooting this video and it's delicious!! Make sure it's completely dry before grinding.
hello, the oven temperature is Celsius or Fahrenheit? thank you
Nelly Maranon Fahrenheit! Sorry about that....
Better Done Yourself, thank you for replying, I'll try today
glad I searched for Ginger!
Would it work if I grilled it
Timilehin Anjorin Are you talking about cheese sandwiches?
@@BetterDoneYourself No the Ginger
Timilehin Anjorin The fat or fat on the grilled ginger would clog up the grinder and then go rancid after some time.
@@BetterDoneYourself K thx
Yeah where I am sm Ginger Mcormick $3.99 vs pennies for whole ginger
How to store it
In a jar. In a drawer
Ooooooof buku thanks

@@samap8180Perhaps in your case...I live in Japan where ginger and ginger powder are both relativity cheap and readily available, so.....

I roughly minced the ginger first.
Akane Cortich Yep. You've just got to break it down a little so it dries faster and will break up in the grinder.
Thanks a lot🙂
