The average price for a starter is 303B and a Main is 982B - I did not see the desserts but assume it is the same as a starter = 1588B. That is, at todays exchange to GBP £35.75 per person average...PLUS drinks. I guess the £45/50 per person would be reasonable for UK but firkin expensive in Pattaya!!!!!!!
Had a motorbike stolen at makro. Even though they quickly caught the thief I had to pay 500 BT to get it from the impound lot. BTW there's a different impound lot close by makro. I had a GPS tracker on the bike so I could see where it was.
1000 Baht for an impound is dirt cheap compared to the USA....A impound can run into hundreds and hundreds of dollars plus loads of more silly fees and charges on top of the impound....

I'm afraid nothing has recently changed this happened to me on the same road over 4 years ago.i actually asked a Thai Market trader if it was OK to park the answer was yes 40 minutes later I came back to a heavy duty chain on my wheel so yes a trip to soi 9 but this has been the same for years at the bottend of pattaya tai

My bike got towed five years ago in the middle of the day on Beach Road. I made it a learning experience and now very, very careful where i park my ca or motorbike. Ever since COVID it seems that people just park where ever the fuxx they want. I'd like to see MORE parking enforcement.

And it would be maybe several hundred more for the fine, then another $25 to the lot, and then probably several hundred more for the towing / storage fees. My guess is you'd be looking at $500 - $1000 at least for having that done in the US.
Thailand has way too many issues with authorities. You never know when they will be in your face. I never had an issue while living there but saw a lot. reminded me of being in the US. I don't want or need that type of crap I decided to put my money in another country
Prefer the sky gallery to any pretentious restaurants Great views, great location, great food, great service, great prices. The bill for me and the missus came to less than 800 baht and we had to take half of it home for dinner and brunch the next day

No one observes any stop signs, only traffic lights. It’s controlled chaos and traffic flows smoothly here in Siem Reap.

What's wrong with walking down to the second road and taking a baht bus to the end of the police soi. Initially it was intended to only allow parking on one side (to effectively widen the road) but vendors on the side they'd decided to disallow complained, saying it would be detrimental to business. That's how they ended up with the alternating "system". Quite laughable really.

$25? To have a car impounded here in Tulsa, after ticket and impound (with the same process as you listed) is around $1000. I don't think I'll be too upset if it happens to me in Thailand (other than time wasted, but then again, I'll be retired with nothing better to do). Thank you for the information.
The food looked fantastic. 25 bucks is something but not enough to destroy your day. I like the look of the Argentine beef but I think the ribs are a better choice. I will try to give it a try one day. Still ironing out my LTR visa with BoI. Just the last steps. If you have the income it seems to be a pretty good deal for retirees.
