I’m looking forward to adding the Evolve 70’s to my collection. I love my ELX200 and have been for years the 70’s would make another fantastic rig option.
I was never an Electro-Voice fan as a club, cruiseship, and mobile DJ in my 30-year plus carrier as their speakers were way too fragile. I was replacing the horn driver from the slightest drop. 8 years ago, I started experimenting with column array speakers. I would purchase a brand and end up returning them. I went through 5 or so brands. The company invested in Bose, which just didn't work for mobile DJs. Then, one brand came out, Turbosound which looked promising but failed as well. So I listened to the Electro-Voice Evolve 50 and was very impressed. It was crisp, clear, vocal and had a serious punch from a 12" subwoofer. I was sold and have not been disappointed since. I will be investing in either the 70s or 90s once they start shipping. Looking forward to it Electro-Voice!
@gaffle-411 i believe the Evolve 70 is the sweet spot as the tops are identical between the 70 and 90. If i need more base, just a single 18" for a fraction of the price.
This business is getting more and more interesting. I started asking this question a lot about where we should be in this business. After the pandemic, everything is changing very quickly and the consumption rate is also very fast. I think the biggest winners here are the production companies. You buy a new system. A new version comes out before you even make a payment and make a profit. This business is increasingly developing in favor of the sellers. I can no longer understand where the technical rental companies, the companies that provide direct service and work day and night should be in this business. We pay millions of liras. New versions come before we can even use the material. I started asking this question a lot.
I love my Evolve 50s and always getting compliments on the sound - but they did struggle a bit in larger venues. I can’t wait to hear the 70s! For me I think the 90s will be too big to lug around. Only have a 7 seater SUV.
Finally EV! Well done! Will they also release an Evolve 70M and 90M, perhaps with 6 mic inputs because of the larger subs allowing more space for a couple of extra mic inputs?
Didn't they say no? I'm sure there will be many, many complaints about it and I'm sure they have already designed it since they have the 50m. And I'm sure the price will be even WAY too high given their current retail prices for the 70&90. Crazy pricing. SMH
How tall are they? Please put that information out there. I saw the video of the 6’4” person setting one up and the 90 was leaps and bounds taller but not every room calls for that. Or can fit a speaker like that.
@@flbchbm it turns out it has a basic mixer on there similarly to the one found on the ZLXG2. My problem is that it has no FX. Musicians like myself and vocalist need FX.
WAY too much. With a n MRP of $2800 will they go to $2k? They must, because QSC's new KC12 is $2k street price and 3000 watts (2k to sub. 1k to column) and 132db output also. And it's much lighter. And the column is a 2 way.
It’s very disingenuous to advertise 28hz and 35hz low frequency extension for the 90 and 70 respectively. The real frequency response is from 35hz and 40hz. You will never hear 28hz from any of these speakers.
its not worth it. if you need 18s then your probably better off with point source speakers tbh as that sub is sufficiently underpowered. 2000 Watts peak for both, that means at best that sub is a 5-700 watts rms for the sub with a 150 watts rms column array in terms of powers that weak for a 18 inch sub.
Finally! 18" sub on a column array.
Cannot wait to hear them live!!

Phenomenal news! Love my Evolve 50’s, will probably buy either 70’s or 90’s too!
Bout Time!
Great video! These sound like a winner!! Would love to review these bad boys!!
i love my Evolve 30's . Very tempted to add some Evolve 70's :)

The Evolve 70 seems like the sweet spot. I just can't get behind relying on a 12" sub for a dance party unless it's a very small crowd.

because the crossover frequency is so too low in value?
What is the weight and dimensions of the sub department of the ev evolve 90 please?

Love to see the ZLX-G2 style inputs/DSP in these. Hoping they'll do the same with Evolve 50 G2 soon.
Hell yeah I'm going for evolve 70 ❤❤❤

Great review. Exciting stuff! I may have missed it but do you have a price for the stand alone subs.
Just saw on B&H -- they've got the 70 sub listed for $2k.

they have a short pole also.. my guess is they are about 7.5 feet tall for the 90
@ thanks yeah I rewatched that my son must’ve been talking the first time I saw it. It’s crazy
$3200 is a little steep. I was thinking tha 90’s would be be closer to $2700 range…
That is MAP pricing.. trade show pricing should be a slight bit better.
On my 50m I have 4 XLR, 1 RCA and BT channel. Why in the WORLD would this next version(s) only have 2 XLR channels? Am I missing something?
first came ev50 not M versión, so maybe they will get an M version of these
you can interconnect the two and have four channels that way with a ethernet cable.
Nice, I hope it means I can get an EV 50 for cheaper then...
Guaranteed there will be tons of used EV50s for sale soon. I might be interested myself.
We need the Evolve 70M & 90M also!! When can we get those!!
summer 2025!
When hell freezes over. Or 2030 at the soonest. Bosch is slow to change as evidence here.
They asked when the M version will be released. Currently there is no plan to make them.
@@flbchbm it turns out it has a basic mixer on there similarly to the one found on the ZLXG2. My problem is that it has no FX. Musicians like myself and vocalist need FX.
Why so short?
the video I saw today shows the 90 over 7 foot tall.. looked about 7.5 feet tall
The subs are MUCH taller. Look at the subs.
What is the cost
$2800 and $3200 MAP

I’m going for the QSC Kc12 , seems a bit overpriced if some of these comments are accurate
My thought as well, but haven't been able to hear them in person and there aren't many reviews on them yet.

@@jonathanspencer8244watts means literally nothing when it comes to the performance of a speaker.
SPL and Frequency response are what matters.
