If anyone has any spare parts for this machine that are surplus to requirements donations would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

This was a beautiful machine. I had one that my brother bought when he was stationed in Germany, in the army. He must have got it new, as it was 1958 when he was there. It has the best squirrel cage motor I've ever seen! Only 3 3/4, IPS, but the record and play quality was fantastic. I dearly miss it.

Hi Nigel, thanks for watching, Yep it's a lovely well built machine, I have been side tracked lately and have not got around to checking out the electronics yet as I have to finish a troublesome Tandberg. As soon as I get it all working I will make another video of it in operation.

@@harveysvintageaudio Thanks for getting back to me Harvey, you're doing a great job keeping the history of tape recording alive. After the TK20 I bought a TK147 in 1970. A big mistake! The main problem was dropouts, but there were loads of niggling little things that made me hate the bloody thing. I eventually sold it for next to nothing just to get rid. But yes, those early 1950s Grundigs were fantastic, which you'll see when you get yours working.

Thanks for that Nigel. I actually have a Grundig TK147 I restored, new drive belts etc, I must find the video I made of it I thought it was on this channel.

Hi Harvey's, I spent all day today on my car boot purchase, a Grundig TK20, I cleaned, serviced, and changed the plug. The icing on the cake was to plug it in and power up. It played the tape and through the imput at the back played Elvis 😊 . Doesn't record though. Jenny

My father had a TK25 purchased in Singapore. Looks almost the same. I can recall going into Singapore City and Grundig service center to get a replacement volume/tone pot which became intermittent. Quite a nice sounding machine but quite hissy. 1.75ips sounded terrible, no HF at all.
