- We combine the popular Elementor page builder with the best free WordPress theme, Kadence. In this method, we use Elementor to design our pages, and Kadence to design our headers, footers, posts and blog page layout. This was all done using the free version of Kadence, but the pro version provides a TON of extra functionality, it's worth checking out here: ideaspot.com.au/kadence
This method gives us the design features and flexibility of Elementor for pages where design is of high importance (e.g marketing pages and landing pages). It also combines the speed and minimalism of Kadence on pages where load time and a snappy UX is needed - e.g. on posts.
We use free versions of both Kadence and Elementor. The nice thing here is that where the free version of Elementor is lacking (header and blog design elements) - Kadence makes up for it! Combining these two tools provides a very powerful combo.

Can I combine Gutenberg and Elementor in the website? There are specific pages that can be better designed with Elementor using templates from envato elements which is not available for Gutenberg..

I must admit, I prefer Kadence with Gutenberg Blocks. So quick and compatible with WP. Great, simple look.

I think there's probably a large audience with Elementor built sites thinking about changing to Kadence, if they have a lot of Elementor built pages, this shows how a transition could work without too much upfront work. Thanks for watching :D

Does Elementor slow down the Kadence theme? How do you keep the Kadence theme fast while using Elementor?
Love your video, but I have still no clue why elementor is changing the page options in kadence. I create a new page set the page settings as you describe and when I return from elementor they are changed ? content style goes from boxed to unboxed and vertical padding from top only to disabled.
Thank you for the clear tutorial, I run a few personal websites and I am switching to elementor do you recommend using the free version of Kadence or Kadence Pro in order to be updated with all compatibility with WP? thx
The free one will be fine, the premium one has some interesting extra features though for sure: kadence-theme.com/premium/
@@IdeaSpot thx for the reply-apart from additional features, don't you think it is safer to use a paid version instead of a free one just to get regular updates and keep themes running for a longer period without any surprises generated by WP incompatibility thru their updates?

With the kadence theme, I chose the Template SHOPPING from the KADENCE STARTER TEMPLATES extension for my e-Commerce shop, but I can't change the images on the homepage .

Hi, the kadence starter templates are for Gutenberg, they can’t be edited with elementor - they will release Elementor templates soon!

It should be fairly easy, just install elementor, add a new page and edit it with elementor.
Just be careful not to try to edit the gutenberg pages in Elementor though.

Hey, I started my website with the Kadence Starter template but I don't want to use it for extra pages. Will I be able to use Elementor with the Kadence Starter template? Hi Tascha, Kadence is bringing some official Elementor templates out soon, maybe its best to wait for these!

In the tutorial you indicated that Kadence starter templates are not for Elementor. Is this still correct? or do kandence starter templates now work with elementor.
Kadence has added some Elementor templates now! Definitely worth trying if you don’t like Gutenberg

I used Kadence with elementor, but the following issue: when I click on customize, nothing show in the veriticlal menu so I can not modify anything for example in the typography, the colour, the header, etc. How to fixe this? Thanks in advance.

Good question, looking at the network output in chrome dev tools, the posts & blog page are behaving exactly the same as a non elementor site, it terms of size/requets & load time.
The elementor pages are a little slower than similar design Gutenberg pages (~+150 to 200ms from what I've seen roughly), but the idea for this method is the blogs would be the ones you use for SEO and ranking content, and the Elementor would be more for branding, landing, etc. where prettier designs might help.

Thanks man, glad to be free of the limitations of Astra. I've managed to revamp on Kadence, now I just need to build all of my pages out again. Worth it for the customisable blog!
No worries, I made this video a while ago, but now kadence has its own elementor templates now which look good if you’re looking at building with elementor. Definitely a lot more customisable in the free version than Astra 👍

Check on Setting/Reading/Post page -choose your blog page-> Save changes
