I know it has nothing to do with this video, but just putting it out there that Angel Hernandez is the reason more people are favoring robotics umps. Grow a pair and fire him already
@@brody2087 He's already suing the MLB for racism, right now. He's claiming the MLB has racially targeted him in not allowing him to umpire All Star or Postseason games. I think we can all think of a thousand other reasons why he should not ump in our sport's most monumental moments.
Vignesh Balakrishnan infield fly rule was kinda a weird call but it basically counts a fly out already than you get the runners who were clueless and the tag of the runner and the base makes the triple play
I umpire (8 year’s experience) baseball for mostly AAU/travel teams and high school. Infield fly is about one of two things. It’s about where the infield is standing is the ball easy for him to catch it. In this play the ball was far from the shortstop and it’s not an easy catch for him the make. That’s a pop up to the outfield. Also the home plate umpire is supposed to call IFF. The other umps can but that’s only after the plate umpire does.
3:23 wait wait wait does that left-fielder catch the ball, wait a couple secs, and then drop it on PURPOSE to confuse the baserunners into thinking he never caught it, just so he could catch them off base?
Wouldn't it be better if the hitter slide to the first base instead of traditional step on the base, especially when the ball is still in exchange between third and second base. In all the instances they just seem to be jogging instead of putting an effort.
sliding to first isnt that good just because its more dangerous, and if you are running with a full head of steam you could probably run it out faster than sliding. but yeah, they weren't really running full speed on the ones around the horn
so everyone thought the umps called the infield fly rule, but they didn't. the infield fly rule is when you call the out even if the infielder drops it, so you basically act if its a fly out. everyone thought it was an infield fly rule, so they stayed close to the bag. this allowed them to just throw it to the guy at second, get the force out on second base, then get the force out on first base.
I do not get first one everyone was saying infield fly throw into second runner tagged out for second out i think they said something about runner on first wandering around and not on bag
The only way it’s a triple play is if they didn’t call infield fly because they tagged the runner for first out and then they got the force at second and the batter never went to first that’s the only way if it was infield fly the runner on first already is safe
How is it not part of the rules that a fly ball needs to actually land in the infield in order to be called an "infield fly"? Seems like that would be no-brainer common sense thing. But who am I kidding. MLB rules are written by a bunch of senile dinosaurs, so I suppose I'm in the wrong for expecting things to actually make sense.
it is a little awkward sometimes, and there is some controversy over it. i think its moreover if the infielder is in a position that they can make an easy catch, even if they have to drift to shallow outfield. it is a little stupid a lot of the time tho.
Triple plays are like poetry in motion.

He’s so bad
TheDirtyDozen12 didn’t he die
He’d sue the mlb for being “racist”
TheDirtyDozen12 they can’t the umpires union won’t let them and unions if they’re bad are annoying to deal with

Schoop was involved in two of these.. for the Orioles and Twins.
Twins got another triple play recently
The Yankees can do it all even get triple plays turned on them
The first one was probably the most boring triple play I’ve ever seen
Ya
more like the most Orioles triple play you've ever seen
Ikr
Vignesh Balakrishnan infield fly rule was kinda a weird call but it basically counts a fly out already than you get the runners who were clueless and the tag of the runner and the base makes the triple play
Jack Magnificent LOL
First one was the sloppiest triple play in history
obviously its the orioles
Exactly
Ah yes a deer commented totally normal
I hated watching it lol
the first one had me so confused 😅
CORONAVIRUSS
REEK
CORONA
Yeah it was the most confusing triple plays I've ever seen!
I know
I was at the Hoskins triple play game and it was definitely an experience to remember
I'd love to be able to say I saw one in person as well...Cheers Moose!
Hoskins went to my college
Dang, something that the Orioles actually did well
I don’t think you realize that the Orioles are a MLB team
A TP on a check swing!!
LOL...No doubt that Check Swing is worth 3 DOH's
And people think hitting into a double play is the worst feeling-
I like how most of the teams that are turning these plays are bad
that’s exactly what i thought
So sad but so true 😔
I guess good teams are more likely to have men on base
Yup
“Recent” machado still on Orioles

The first one was so boring then bam!! The second one blows you away
Molina doesn’t run very fast, but he can hit it pretty far. As a Cardinals fan, that’s ok.
This is why I hate the infield fly rule so much
detroit tigers r the champions of triple play
Great, *great,* stuff.
You could also call this a reel of "how 'bout that?!"

Tigers announcers are the best
I Wana see one where short orv2nd throw it to 3rd then 2nd to 1st. For nor 1:07 is the best kinda triple play
Lol the commentary on the play starting 1:04
How bout that?
Let’s go O’s
This is how many people want robot umps!
No
Angels like hitting into triple plays
Go Mariners
All of them are mostly to third😔😔never hitting third again
S the first one even a triple play? So embarrassing
Can someone explain to me what happened at the first one?? Its fckin weird tho

👍
these aren’t even recent, since when was machado back on the orioles lol
Elijyuh last season is somewhat recent
William Kircher I’m talking about the tigers one
William Kircher that one was too. Never mind I guess
I hate the infield viral it makes people look silly
Who cares
3rd
The 2 people that disliked this are not smart
"That's Three and Rare To See" Always fun to watch these videos!! See Everyone At The Ball Park Soon.....Cheers
h
I love the triple plays when they rifle the ball from 3rd tho 2nd to 1st not the dumb ones
Triple plays that start in the infield are cool
The rarest triple play is the unassisted triple play and it’s one of the coolest
I made a unassisted triple play a couple of weeks ago, sadly it didn't get recorded.
@@elizabethblack2674 cap
How about that
The 2nd one the second basemen was off the bag
I like quadruple plays more personally
1:40 The most horrendous base running I've seen in my life by Yankees #18. I would have sent the guy back to Triple-A right away.
Was that mahomes in the reds Uni? Lol
2:08 look at how excited the tigers announcer got lol
I've seen them on tv but I've never seen a triple play at the stadium.
Spoiler Alert: They're all out.

I watched baseball for years and never saw a triple play. A very rare play for sure
I made an unassisted triple play a couple of weeks ago, it's definitely an experience, sadly it wasn't recorded.
The orioles one of the worst defensive teams this year and they turn a triple okay
that wasn't from this year
1:08 and uh now I have his heart?
Carew had a heart transplant
My favorite all time triple play was from a Dodgers@Brewers game, where Brewers turned a 4-6-3-2 triple play
the only entertaining triple plays are the 5 4 3 ones with no tagging
Facts
I love that Scope made 2 plays from 2 teams, hes a pretty talented player i guess
All very impressive
