The only thing I’d disagree with is that Kasak is more sound or “better.” SVN made the semi’s losing to ONLY Yianni, the national champion. He beat everyone else, which includes Paniro Johnson, Caleb Henson (current champ), and Parco. He didn’t have an easy list of guys to take out and he never got upset his first match either. Assuming he’s completely healed and PSU worked their magic on him… he’s the better guy at 149. Regardless of if Kasak was still 149 or not. Edit: only difference is Kasak was a true freshman and SVN was a redshirt freshman. Which might add or take away points for some people. But regardless they still both get 4 shots.
@@CACTUS-Wrestling Based off of careers alone, I think a healthy Carter would’ve won 10/10 times. Now currently I think he will still win but it’ll be real close.
@randylang7341 carter gave up forst takedown in first 2 matches of ncaas last year, granted he was on one leg, BUT if hes good enough to win a title on one leg, then hes vulnerable enough to also get taken down, especially by someone with such an aggressive pace as parker
Who wants to see Mitchell tech or major someone cause #2 is Caliendo who he has teched and majored. Maybe they think he is getting enough wrestling in at U23 worlds a couple weeks earlier. Who knows guys.
Kerkvliet 1 Feldman 0 last match Bassett and Mendez..1 takedown per match total x 3 last year Haines has a stout defense and Rocco Welsh didn’t give up a single takedown at NCAAs last year however he only scored 4 total. This match screams 4-1 SV which the majority of Rocco’s matches are vs tough opponents. Don’t believe me look at the 174 bracket last year. Volk and Tanner 2-1 last match. lets start focusing on getting guys that score points in these matches right?!
@@Slapthematwrestling I’m sure they’re trying to do that. You also said that you wouldn’t want to see Mesenbrink wrestle because he’d get a bonus win, so you want someone who can score but not score too much as to where it’s not competitive. It’s hard, if not impossible to get two wrestlers who’d have an entertaining, competitive, high scoring match that also has future implications for the NCAA finals. I’d rather have the best people they can get wrestling, and if it’s high scoring then even better. I know everyone wouldn’t agree with me, but I’d much rather see Mendez vs Bartlett compared to a match between possible AAs that’s high scoring. I for one think their matches are entertaining despite the score, and two believe that the higher the future stakes the better the match
@@jackmcg0 in regards to the Mesenbrink, and I don’t think it’s hard to understand that what would be great as a high scoring competitive match. You know two guys that put it all out there but score points? I’d even settle for guys that are capable of scoring more than 5 pts against each other . My main point is finding the 1 vs the 2 is not always the most entertaining matches to ger. It’s thinking out side the box. Bartlett mendez matches are great for the last 45 seconds.
@@Slapthematwrestling I don’t think you typed your message out completely, but either way the most entertaining match is entirely subjective. You can’t say that having a high scoring match is automatically going to happen, or if it’d even be more entertaining than a low scoring one. I, and I expect many others still find entertainment in low scoring matches, and would rather have two of the best wrestlers going at it than the possibility of a high scoring match between two others. The same rings true for past low scoring matches. There’s no guarantee that Bartlett and Mendez will have a low scoring match. If Mendez or Bartlett changes their game plan or gets an early lead then it’s entirely possible the match could be one of the most entertaining on the card.

I'm going to the Classic! Got some nice lower level seating
I thought Keegan O’Toole did the All Star classic against Hamiti. In which he controlled and dominated that match pretty much.

Penn State ARE the All Stars
If you guys had a little better production this podcast would jump levels. Love the work
Rocco holds position very well
Very good defensive wrestler. Like 2 good shots. But I doubt he beats Haines unless he developed some offense over the off season.
He has no offense
Parker not beating Carter Ever!
I’m going. Are you guys gonna do a Cactus Wrestling meet up beforehand?
23:25 Rocco was a true freshman he probably was nervous
Any word on when the Michigan team preview is coming?
Blaze to Happy Valley
Stephen little is a Kentucky kid! Let's goooo
No idea what the idea was behind all the PSU/tOSU matches, all of which will be seen already, and likely multiple times
Wow did Mike really just say a Penn State guy would win is he sick 🤣🤣🤣
I feel Parker losing will help him later on? When it really counts!
Wasn’t the case for Brooks but maybe.
@xzjayz7925 brooks had like 8 career wins over parker before then. I dont think parker and carter have ever squared off before
