honestly dont think that it was “stalling out” rather he just is too focused on being technical and mendez isnt giving any easy openings you can see the attempts but they seem to lack confidence
Yeah beau did the same thing last year. He said he’s going to be more offensive this year but looks exactly the same. If he gets a takedown on a really good opponent he will stall on his feet the entire match. If he doesn’t get a takedown he will also stall on his feet the entire match wishing magically he will get three points
why is Bartlett not 2 and why is Jesse still 2 this is ridiculous that the two finalists and champ aren’t the top two in the get Alirez was a champ but that was 2 years ago now why does he get special treatment he just comes back and gets a number one spot thats unfair to the current guyswho did compete
Fortunately rankings don't matter now. What matters is their performance throughout the season and their final ranking for NCAA seeding. I expect Mendez will be top ranked at that point with either Alirez or Bartlett facing him in a semi, and the other facing him in the final.
Alirez was undefeated when he won the national championships in 2023. Mendez lost to Cole Matthews and Beau Bartlett last year during the regular season. Since Beau and Jesse will wrestle each other in the dual and at conferences this year there's a strong chance Alirez will be the one seed going into the national championships again this year. So we may see this match three more times this year at the dual, the big 10 finals and the national semi finals. All three times they wrestled last year the score was 4-1 with Jesse winning the series 2:1. And now another 4-1 result giving Jesse the 3:1 series lead even though this match technically doesn't count towards seeding.
Beau can if he sets up, his first attack with his 2nd and 3rd. Easier said then done, with an opponent as fast and stronger. Who likes to counter wrestle.
Mendez is the man!!
7:45 "That's a stall ref!"
"Its not stalling!"
Funny little back and forth in the crowd. I'm glad Penn State plays music during the duals.
Beau gonna need to be aggressive to beat Jesse or Alirez
zero shots in 4 mins not a good strategy
he can't beat alirez in any circumstance
He can’t beat Mendez under anyt circumstance. Mendez is better than Ailrez
Beau lost this match like he did at Big 10’s. His offense stalls out way too often
Mendez looks way stronger here

Beau will never beat mendez again
Mendez must have great coachez.
go bucks!!

If they are the number 2 and 3 ranked, who’s number 1 ???
Alirez
@@MrZombiekiller125 should be Mendez but Alirez

Not to mention Mendez beat him in freestyle a few months back. I know it's different, but adding to what you said Mendez is clear number 1 as of now.

All 4x they’ve wrestled it was 4-1, 3 times for Mendez, and a questionable win for Bartlett. Speaks to Bartletts stalling.
Jesse is a good wrestler, I heard he was good besides others
