Hey Miguel, thanks again for a great video. Pity you don't have a speaking part in your videos. Would love to hear the pronunciation of the towns, villages and cities you visit. Aldeia da Mata Pequena is a lovely place, kudos to the owners but the accommodations are not suitable for people with mobility issues as all bedrooms are upstairs without bathrooms and there is no air conditioners. Also, there is more to life than tramping around the streets of major cities, I am thrilled that you have expanded your horizon to showcase all of Portugal and not just the cities. Keep up the great work and stay safe.

WOW! I didn't think these places even existed nowadays, and so close to Lisbon. Interesting video, Miguel. I think it would be interesting to see the small little places. When life was so much simpler. I think they have these type of places in Italy called agraturismo, but I think you stay and work on olive harvest, grape picking, or making cheeses and things like that to attract tourists. TFS ❤❤

What's with all the pumpkins on the roofs? Are they real or fake? Where do the vehicles park? I noticed they are not in front of the houses or on the side of the street?
The pumpkins are real, it's something to do with roofs being warmer and pumpkins requiring heat, if I'm not mistaken. 😊 I've seen pumpkins on the roofs of many villages throughout Portugal. There's a small car park at 5:00, you can only see a little bit of it. It has about 15 parking spaces, enough for the whole village.

Gostaria de sugerir algumas: a Monsanto " aldeia mais portuguesa de Portugal" (assisti um vídeo bem antigo sobre a competição das aldeias sobre qual seria a mais portuguesa e Monsanto ganhou, é bem legal esse vídeo) Piódão, Sortelha e Lindoso ( os espigueiros são icônicos) tem muito mais claro mas deixo a seu critério. Parabéns, um vídeo rural pra gente ver além da paisagem linda os bichos bem tratados. Valeu!!! 😘😘

Simply charming! I would hesitate to say it gives a glimpse to a time was more simple...I would think to be truly "authentic" there would be no electricity, no indoor plumbing, and mattresses filled with straw...but it is a lovely place- thank you!
I agree, this village gives a glimpse to a time when things were simpler and happier. 😊 If you really want that authentic rustic experience, you can still find it in northern/central Portugal.
@@POVTours Yes- my husband was born and raised in a tiny village near Boticas and my parents were from an even tinier village near Montalegre. They insist times were happier then and one of my husband's favorite stories is when his aunt was the first person in the village to get a tv in 1978 and everyone would come over to watch the "telenovelas"

Olá Miguel, de repente me vi na Pampilhosa, se bem que a aldeia, hoje vila, seja maior que a Aldeia da Mata, tem a parte alta, onde mora a população ruralista e a parte baixa onde mora a população mais abastada e próximo à estação ferro- viária, ou seja, a Pampilhosa tem dois nucleos e durante muito tempo, segundo o meu pai os cima não desciam e vice versa, se o fizessem a confusão estava armada. Na minha opinião o governo deveria ter um olhar mais agudo para es- sas aldeias e não só se fixar no litoral, subsídios para o interior, atraindo pessoas para povoar as vilas e aldeias, muitas com poucos moradores. Costumo assistir outro dois canais, Portugal 360º e Portugal visto de cima. Abçs de Iperó e gostei da ideia de visitar as aldeias e vilas. Abçs.

É complicado convencer os jovens a ficarem nestas pequenas aldeias, o acesso a empregos não é fácil, as habitações por vezes estão em mau estado, sem acesso a internet rápida, etc. Abraços e até domingo, para um vídeo com paisagens impressionantes.

Looks still a ghost town. No much vehicles I saw. How far doo they go to buy their needs( food, medicines, lumber renovating those homes, is there fi access at all, etc. To really a week long vacay in those kind a very small but very quit place that I can enjoy etc. All I wonder what emergency situation came along? Who. & how can tourists get help from? Just wondering .
It is a tourist village, the houses are for accommodation, and is about 9 km from Mafra, where there is everything, and It is 37 km from the city of Torres Vedras
It's a good thing that are very few vehicles nearby, the noise would ruin the quiet atmosphere. 😊 The nearest big town is Mafra, about 9km from this village, you just need to call a taxi. All the homes have wifi and all the modern conveniences, TV, heating, fully equipped kitchen, etc, despite being rustic. The owners of the properties or an employee is there everyday, not only to deliver breakast but to ensure that everything is fine.

Oh Miguel, I loved this. It does remind you of fairy tales. I love that there were pops of red at each house… you don’t often see red… mostly the traditional blue and gold. (Did I ever ask you if what I heard -when I was there) that the colours represented your class, a long time ago? I think it went blue, then gold and the wealthy few had red.) Such a pretty place. WOW! I didn't think these places even existed nowadays, and so close to Lisbon. Interesting video, Miguel. I think it would be interesting to see the small little places. When life was so much simpler. I think they have these type of places in Italy called agraturismo, but I think you stay and work on olive harvest, grape picking, or making cheeses and things like that to attract tourists. TFS ❤❤

What's with all the pumpkins on the roofs? Are they real or fake? Where do the vehicles park? I noticed they are not in front of the houses or on the side of the street?
The pumpkins are real, it's something to do with roofs being warmer and pumpkins requiring heat, if I'm not mistaken. 😊
I've seen pumpkins on the roofs of many villages throughout Portugal.
There's a small car park at 5:00, you can only see a little bit of it. It has about 15 parking spaces, enough for the whole village.

Gostaria de sugerir algumas: a Monsanto " aldeia mais portuguesa de Portugal" (assisti um vídeo bem antigo sobre a competição das aldeias sobre qual seria a mais portuguesa e Monsanto ganhou, é bem legal esse vídeo) Piódão, Sortelha e Lindoso ( os espigueiros são icônicos) tem muito mais claro mas deixo a seu critério. Parabéns, um vídeo rural pra gente ver além da paisagem linda os bichos bem tratados. Valeu!!! 😘😘

Simply charming! I would hesitate to say it gives a glimpse to a time was more simple...I would think to be truly "authentic" there would be no electricity, no indoor plumbing, and mattresses filled with straw...but it is a lovely place- thank you!
I agree, this village gives a glimpse to a time when things were simpler and happier. 😊 If you really want that authentic rustic experience, you can still find it in northern/central Portugal.
@@POVTours Yes- my husband was born and raised in a tiny village near Boticas and my parents were from an even tinier village near Montalegre. They insist times were happier then and one of my husband's favorite stories is when his aunt was the first person in the village to get a tv in 1978 and everyone would come over to watch the "telenovelas"

Olá Miguel, de repente me vi na Pampilhosa, se bem que a aldeia, hoje vila, seja maior que a Aldeia da Mata, tem a parte
alta, onde mora a população ruralista e a parte baixa onde mora a população mais abastada e próximo à estação ferro-
viária, ou seja, a Pampilhosa tem dois nucleos e durante muito tempo, segundo o meu pai os cima não desciam e vice
versa, se o fizessem a confusão estava armada. Na minha opinião o governo deveria ter um olhar mais agudo para es-
sas aldeias e não só se fixar no litoral, subsídios para o interior, atraindo pessoas para povoar as vilas e aldeias, muitas
com poucos moradores. Costumo assistir outro dois canais, Portugal 360º e Portugal visto de cima. Abçs de Iperó e
gostei da ideia de visitar as aldeias e vilas. Abçs.

É complicado convencer os jovens a ficarem nestas pequenas aldeias, o acesso a empregos não é fácil, as habitações por vezes estão em mau estado, sem acesso a internet rápida, etc.

Looks still a ghost town. No much vehicles I saw. How far doo they go to buy their needs( food, medicines, lumber renovating those homes, is there fi access at all, etc. To really a week long vacay in those kind a very small but very quit place that I can enjoy etc. All I wonder what emergency situation came along? Who. & how can tourists get help from? Just wondering .
It is a tourist village, the houses are for accommodation, and is about 9 km from Mafra, where there is everything, and It is 37 km from the city of Torres Vedras
It's a good thing that are very few vehicles nearby, the noise would ruin the quiet atmosphere. 😊 The nearest big town is Mafra, about 9km from this village, you just need to call a taxi.
All the homes have wifi and all the modern conveniences, TV, heating, fully equipped kitchen, etc, despite being rustic. The owners of the properties or an employee is there everyday, not only to deliver breakast but to ensure that everything is fine.

Oh Miguel, I loved this. It does remind you of fairy tales. I love that there were pops of red at each house… you don’t often see red… mostly the traditional blue and gold. (Did I ever ask you if what I heard -when I was there) that the colours represented your class, a long time ago? I think it went blue, then gold and the wealthy few had red.)
Such a pretty place. Yes to more places like this. I know of a village east of Lourinhã that has a higher concentration of moinhos! That would be cool!
