My dad was an Air Force pilot and he's teaching me to fly via Microsoft Flight Sim. This channel is especially useful to me because I can fly almost anything I want and this channel helps me figure out what's right for me. I really appreciate this channel.
A sensible, informative, intelligent presentation with no self-promotion and no music! What a winner! Thanks, you just earned a new subscriber and my respect.
I think your costs are just for the kits. Engine and electronics about double the prices you have posted. I almost have a kitfox completed. I enjoyed the video!
Yes you're exactly correct. Since all the comparisons are based on the same engine and they could all have the same avionics, the kit price is the only real major variable for build cost. Thanks clarifying and for watching!
I love your videos. They are great, and informative. Could you breakdown the costs of ownership of the progressively larger planes in the Cessna family? 182 - > 206?
Oops, sadly yes that's a mistake. I cannot confirm or deny if it can carry 705 miles per hour 🙂 It can carry 705 lbs though. Thanks for pointing that out
Got to fly a highlander around the Carolina’s. It’s a great little airplane. Though, that Rotax certainly Makes funny noises to a guy used to listening to the hum of a lycoming
Randy Schlitter once described putting a Rotax 912 into an S-21 was like putting a four cylinder engine into a Mustang. It's not an LSA as you said. Did you try the S-7 or the S-20? Where do they rank?😊
Are the kit prices you mention comparable? Or is the $31k highlander coming with - for instance - no engine? (Also, its load in 0.9 mach, which is unusual)

2:41 interesting that the “load” for the highlander is almost Mach 1 at “705 mph” 😂
Whoa, Doc! That's heavy!
I figured that be in comment section. LoL
I absolutely love your delivery.

That’s a nice way to say “no B.S”.. Welcome 😀

More LSA’s please. Oh yes, I’d be glad to provide suggestions: Jabiru J230D, Texas Aircraft Colt 100, Skyleader 600, Vashon Ranger.
Thank you for takiv the initiative and suggesting a few! I had only heard of the Jabiru here so will be looking into the rest 👍

Thanks! All the Cessna high wings are on the way. Thanks for watching!
@@CompleteWalkaround looking forward to it!!!!! :)
I would highly suggest looking at the KFA Safari . It beats out all 5 planes in most categories.
You need to do the Bearhawk 4 Place!! ❤❤
Excellent stuff bro
Complete walkaround on the maule series aircaft? MX7 vs M7 vs M9 would be great, but M7 is my favorite. Thanks!
Excellent new channel & summary. I've subscribed !
Highlander is a great performer on floats also.
Have a look at the KFA (kit planes for Africa) Safari or the Explorer aswell.
at 2:35 it says 705 mph under the load for the highlander, just guessing that its a mistake ?
Oops, sadly yes that's a mistake. I cannot confirm or deny if it can carry 705 miles per hour 🙂

Any chance you could do a "top 5" or possibly fewer "best certified bush planes?"
Randy Schlitter once described putting a Rotax 912 into an S-21 was like putting a four cylinder engine into a Mustang.
It's not an LSA as you said.
Did you try the S-7 or the S-20?
Where do they rank?😊
Murphy aircraft also have an LSA variant that could be added
You might look at the Aerotrek A220
Mr henry has the record take off and landing with his highlander,be a great plane to have.
How about the bushcat?
is the zenith 750 still lsa?
Bearhawk Patrol LSA?
Bearhawk LSA?
Once again the Savage Cub is completely forgotten !
You might look /at the Aerotrek A 220
Oh goodness the Katmai (modded 182, but essentially same fuel burn same cruise) can takeoff shorter than some of these "STOL" 2 person machined
You totally missed the point.
You missed KFAs Safari and Bushbaby, both would be right up there
The Wild Thing WT01 could have made it onto this list...
If they hadn't gone out of business.
Subbed

It's all just for the kit. Since they all use the same engine, no need to include it in the comparison
Where is the Bearhawk?
Good question, thanks. I think I need to do a part 2.
I don't think they can be built to LSA specs. Could be wrong. The Zenith 750 STOL can be built either way.
@@CompleteWalkaround where is that part 2 im desperate to hear your soothing voice say bearhawk (toss in a maul as well)
Can you do a ‘Top 5’ of the best Experimental?? Figures like:
Reliability
Cost
Looks
Function
Distance
Speed
Load
Commonality on resale?
Liked the vid but would have appreciated knowing the engine cost.
$28k USD
Yeah, load of 705mph..you need to be careful because once there is one typo then every other bit of data is questioned.
Gotta love the highlanders 705 mph load
No Rans S-7? I'm gone.....
Just Aircraft is definitely the diet pepsi from the 80s…
NOT "ZEN-ith" - "ZEE-nith"!
ALL bush planes are top, there is no 5
It’s load is 750 mph? Wild
