Yeah it feels like an ARG more than the usual sonic creepypasta. I think it's just the amount of effort dedicated to emulating that retro design. It's also really refreshing to see this kind of interpretation of sonic, considering that the focus is usually on the 2D games
There's something about how Rewrite almost looks like he's "breaking out" of a still pose with that final segment that makes him more intimidating. It looks like he's supposed to be completely still at first but he quickly springs to life.
I love when the distorted sonic creepypasta whatever doesn’t just enslave every other character, giving them grotesque corpse like forms cuz it gives NO personality to any other character, but this makes it seem like each character has their own sort of will in their own world

I've noticed that Rewrite seems to be getting more expressive and fluid, almost more powerful seeming as it gets used to the world he's inhabiting and being more comfortable using his surreal powers in his current form. He goes from seemingly accidentally kicking tails, as well as needing to physically hunt him down to catch him, to being able to fly, do the peelout, and rearrange his arm and head as if testing his capabilities.
Eggman looks like something out of those classic stop motion horror movies. He looks like something out of Nightmare Before Christmas or Coraline. I love him

You struck gold with the character designs cause they're... oddly comforting. Even eggman, he's presented as menacing, looming, but he's designed with enough whimsy that he fits in the end screen naturally. It really defines the design as a whole. Everything is dangerously uncanny, and yet so whimsical you have to wonder... why are they evil? What went wrong?

Not usually one for these creepypasta esq sonic things, but this is quite interesting. It’s like something in this game is generating itself based on Sonic and CO, but is failing to perfectly mimick them. What interests me more is how whatever is mimicking Sonic seems to be more of a trickster than the other iterations of that spooky sonic thing. Especially like how it seems to be testing its limits with each video, learning how to use its body and world. The final thing that I haven’t seen anyone mention; “Mimic Sonic” is doing the “As Above So Below” pose at the end. Potentially indicating that this sonic and this system is being altered by a spiritual entity, perhaps a Demon? (Yes I know the original spooky sonic thing was some sort of Eldridge abomination. I don’t really find that thing interesting as the entire plot from what I’ve seen is just too over the top.)

I could be wrong about this, but it seems to be implied that the mere action of using something holy to manipulate people caused the program to become a demonic entity or something. The program adapts to the user, and how we see it here is how it appeared to one particular Sonic fan. At the start of the game, he acts exactly like the real Sonic, but as he gains the red rings by killing each of the characters, he acts more self-aware. He intends to enter the player’s mind to make them off themselves so that he can steal their soul, as the other characters in the game are previous victims forced to play their parts.

The animation and model manages to be charming and so stylish while having that slight edge of "a bit too far" in the stretch of animation, giving it and air of slight unease! When looking at sonics model when the video started, i went "huh, looks a bit uncanny, but i'm probably just imagining it". and then he went all .exe and went "nope, the model is very much meant to freak me out". Knuckle's face delights me to no end, and that weird looming human figure is so off-putting yet fun! Remind of me of a clock for some reason, with how its head moved when walking.

Everything about this is so perfectly creepy, from the occasional unsettling rewrite pose, or stare directly at the camera, or the cuts to specific animations where the music cuts out. In particular, eggman walking through the red and black void is distinctly scary in a way thats hard to describe. He looks both villanous and sad at the same time.
I cannot express enough how much I love the Rewrite universe. This just feels like one of those projects SEGA would hand off to a team with less experience. You've warped the Sonic world in such a delightful way. Why not pull some more stuff from the early development cycle of Sonic? The weird creatures that predate the badniks? Madonna?
These designs remind me of cartoons, the weird proportions, the bright colors, this all feels like a cartoon that my brother would’ve made fun of me for being afraid. The fluid movement of Rewrite, Egg Man’s lanky body l, Tails being SO ADORABLE, and Knuckles having clothes rings (he he, get it?) all the right bells for me. Spectacular job
i gotta say, these new designs have a much more deliberate look to them, this feels like if sonic was designed specifically during the time that 3D video gaming was beginning to be more prevalent.

i find it interesting how rewrite blinks in different ways ( he has a clear style of blinking for the most part of the video and then there's 1:36 ) would be funny if rewrite just forgets how stuff works in his own game and there are minor slipups like these

Though many people have praised it, I too must join the fray; Absolutely LOVE the "Eggman" design. Haven't even seen him really do anything yet but he's easily my favorite design of the series! (so far, perhaps) Really like how his arms are screwed to his body. Coupled with the permanent smile, which seems to be a mask considering the back side of his head is metallic, and the way he walks in perfectly controlled steps, as well as his head turning with each step he makes, really seels "robotic". He feels like a proper villain already! His laugh too, now THAT'S a menacing laugh! Amazing job Springless, can't wait to see more of Rewrite! (no pressure tho)

Well, this is a blast to start off the spooky month with! First off, the Eggman sprite looks AMAZING! Second off, the altered Rewrite model feels even better than the original despite nothing really wrong with it (I do love the more expressive animation and cheeky smile of Rewrite though). Third off, this legit seems like something that could be an actual game like shown in " sonic gameplay ". Fourth off, 1:28 " Wanna see my head come off? " But in Mario 64 style. Under different circumstances, these designs can actually be rather cute. Tails and Knuckles are most obvious, but even Rewrite can be at times.

I cannot express enough how much I love the Rewrite universe. This just feels like one of those projects SEGA would hand off to a team with less experience. You've warped the Sonic world in such a delightful way.
Why not pull some more stuff from the early development cycle of Sonic? The weird creatures that predate the badniks? Madonna?
These designs remind me of cartoons, the weird proportions, the bright colors, this all feels like a cartoon that my brother would’ve made fun of me for being afraid. The fluid movement of Rewrite, Egg Man’s lanky body l, Tails being SO ADORABLE, and Knuckles having clothes rings (he he, get it?) all the right bells for me.

i gotta say, these new designs have a much more deliberate look to them, this feels like if sonic was designed specifically during the time that 3D video gaming was beginning to be more prevalent.

I love the models in this animation test! The attention to detail is incredible, especially the textures and movements. It's clear a lot of thought went into these designs. Can't wait to see how this evolves in future animations!

I love how it looks like an entity try to look like sonic but there's concepts that it's missing and doesn't understand, like how sonic starts walking and forgets a foot, or when he's thinking he wiggles his knee in thought

I’ve silently been a huge fan of how rewrite sonic looks and now I can finally say how much I love this !! I can definitely tell the models changed a bit, but all I can say is that they all look so cool ! Especially the eggman walk cycle !!!! :DDD

Absolutely LOVE the "Eggman" design. Haven't even seen him really do anything yet but he's easily my favorite design of the series! (so far, perhaps)
Really like how his arms are screwed to his body. Coupled with the permanent smile, which seems to be a mask considering the back side of his head is metallic, and the way he walks in perfectly controlled steps, as well as his head turning with each step he makes, really seels "robotic". He feels like a proper villain already! His laugh too, now THAT'S a menacing laugh! Amazing job Springless, can't wait to see more of Rewrite! (no pressure tho)

Well, this is a blast to start off the spooky month with! First off, the Eggman sprite looks AMAZING! Second off, the altered Rewrite model feels even better than the original despite nothing really wrong with it (I do love the more expressive animation and cheeky smile of Rewrite though). Third off, this legit seems like something that could be an actual game like shown in " sonic gameplay ". Fourth off, 1:28 " Wanna see my head come off? " But in Mario 64 style. And finally, due to the quickish pace to this scene, it feels like it would be a meme while also being unexpected in general. 2:05
