I had to watch this. So many buy from Temu. I bought some items but never the jewelry. I guess they can sell cheap because they are cutting out the middle man or two or three. Good alternative for people on a strict budget but want jewelry. Not serious jewelry collectors. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, that’s a good way of looking at it. These are definitely not anything I’d consider heirloom but they are cute little accessories. Thanks for watching!
Wow I’m impressed with the jewelry! Just a tip with the diamond selector, depending on the size of the stone you have to set the right number on the scale. So testing that big stone should be brought down to a 1 or 2, the smaller the stone you should set it to a higher number like 4 or 5, there should be a chart on the back of the tester. Just thought you’d like to know! Also love how you are sharing all your hobbies and interest, I’m here for jewelry and etcetera! Lol
I set it a little higher because the chart is temperature based as well and I was recording in my (omg SO CHILLY) basement. I'll have to try it again upstairs and see if I get the same reading! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and watching! And I am soooo happy you're here for all of it lol; I am so nervous I'm scaring off everyone flipping around like crazy, haha. I belive they sale the cases for travel to keep you jewelry in. And it may be no tarnish. If you’re Jewlery is not testing as silver and it states of the silver you can return it. I know in Temu I would assume Shein is the same you can do one return per order, which can be multiple items at no cost to you.
Loved this experiment. I never knew you could test silver. Would you buy the test liquid online! And we're you using a rubber stamp to scratch?? The mosinite ring was an absolutely gorgeous. Would be proud to wear!
Thank you! There's a link for the testing kits in the description. I bought them from amazon. The scratching tile is actually frosted glass I believe with a black rubber backing so it doesn't slide. I thought for the longest time it was a black tile of some sort but it doesn't appear that way if you look at it through the side. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
You are only doing half of the test, test the actual ring. Hornblende, chlorite and iron create the green inclusions in moss agate. The inclusions are called dendritic.
Thanks for the suggestion! I test in the way my jewelry suggested but I'll have to try that as well next time. thanks for the information on the "moss", I'll have to look that up -- I always thought it might be epidote but wasn't sure if epidote could grown with dendritic formations. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
To be precise, chalcedony is an umbrella term encompassing all microcrystaline quartz, such as agates, but also jaspers. Tigers eye is also considered chalcedony, oddly enough, as is carnelian, bloodstone, etc. :) Macrocrystaline quartz would be crytal quartz, amethyst, citrine, smokey, morion, etc. Sorry I could talk rocks all day :P
perhaps it's just not quite 925, i've had silver jewelry i had to retest with the acid for silver because it just gave me funky readings with the 18k solution, turned out yes silver but not sterling.
That’s definitely a possibility. Usually 18k is pretty trustworthy (and it’s what my jeweler uses) but I didn’t consider the possibility of a lower percentage of silver in some of these. I’ll have to give a comparison test between 900, 925, 950, and 999. That would be interesting! Thanks for the inspiration!
I have bought several rings and earrings in silver from Shein a beautiful pair of earrings with silver and gold. I had to have the chain swapped out and the gold smith tested it and it was all real. I bought a pair of earrings with clear stones in, the stones looks awful, they don't shine at all, they look like plastic, so I never buy with that kind of stones anymore.
#sparkle this was so interesting 🤔 because I’ve often bought fashion jewellery from them but I’d always assumed that the sliver pieces were always fake and I was so chuffed I guessed the moissanite price . #sparkle I think the moissanite was beautiful - not a fan of the ring guard - nice choice to keep. The green agate would be my 2nd choice. I'm surprised at the costs of all of them!🤯.
I think many fail to label things correctly in order to sell more. Like instead of just silver, to silvertone; gold to gold tone. Also, a huge red flag are the metal markings, like 925 or K and makers mark.
Welcome and thank you SO much for the sub!! I used a diamond tester to test the moissanite. Moissanite has the same conductivity as a diamond so it will test as diamond using diamond testing probes, even though it is a man made stone :) Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

Thanks so much for the sub! YES, so may people think moissanite is a rare and uncommon stone, not realizing it's man made. It reminds me of diamonds in a way -- not for the obvious reasons but for the exceptional marketing "they" have done to inflate the prices on it (obviously expensive diamonds have their place in the market but I have seen the lowest quality stones added to pieces just to increase the price because "it has diamonds!").
