Kudo's to you for capturing the whole show, thanks for posting! I saw them in New Haven, CT on or about July 20. They played longer (2 x 1 hr+ sets). The crowd was equally enthusiastic & almost sold out a 9k seat venue. The band was super insistent - NO PICTURES OR VIDEO'S OF ANY SORT!!!!! My buddy works security at the venue & they had been told the band would have their own security watching venue security & if venue security was caught not being vigilant they'd be disciplined severely. Apparently from some of the in between song chatter the lead singer is a die hard Luddite (despises technology). I video'd a couple songs, thought I was being pretty stealth (sitting at balcony w/phone on my belly just over the rail) & got caught twice, 2nd time was told I'd be escorted out if caught again. Crazy. I do appreciate their fan's enthusiasm. I attended other concerts this summer (Tedeschi Trucks Band, My Morning Jacket, Elvis Costello) where the audiences were mostly Poseurs just there to spend conspicuously on drinks, take selfies, talk loudly & incessantly, & then leave halfway thru, leaving all their hardly consumed pricey food & drink all over the floor. We did get to Upgrade our seats which was nice as we got in on $25 specials! The only other audience equally attentive was Ryan Adams & the Cardinals (saw a couple days ago, Waterbury, CT). He also insisted on no video/ pictures. So did Jack White (Raconteurs) when I saw them pre-Pandemic in Brooklyn, they even went as far as making the audience put their phones in a sealed bag.
Contemplating getting tickets to see these guys this year because they've been one of my favorites since I was a kid, but I've heard negative things from people that have seen them before and I'm nervous about going now...
Same here, Cake has been one of my favorite bands since 1999, and all I've heard are negative comments regarding John's political rants onstage, straight up insulting or yelling at fans who don't participate, and how the band looks miserable. Damn shame, "never meet your heroes"
@@mrmusickhimself I've heard the exact same thing!!! I want to see them SO bad, but I don't know if it's worth it to take the chance of absolutely ruining my perspective on them
Saw them circa 2010 at the palladium. Great show. I would go again if I got the chance. You can get a sense of what his vibe is like from watching this. A little ironic, a little sarcastic. But that's in the lyrics of almost every one of their songs. I really enjoy his songwriting and the minimalist style of their music.
Big fan 1 complaint. It's a big deal when vocals are an instrument and it's the only thing keeping a different time signature and the band plays absolutely spot on.
It is my understanding that John does weird stuff like this on purpose. Not sure if it is to amuse himself or what. Seems like there is a level of disdain sometimes for the audience's lack of understanding of music.
Yea when at a live show his vocal kemming sometimes works amazingly well and sometimes just doesn't. It's a risk you take when you mess around with timing like that. Most of the time it's awesome though.
I love the guy yelling “WAR PIIIIGGGGSS” we ended up parking next to him
To be fair, Cake's version of War Pigs IS amazing.
Long LIne of Cars - Comfort Eagle - Italian Leather Sofa ... I was hoping for these bangers!
That is just CAKE..I see em June 24..can't wait ❤
I saw them tonight! My first time seeing them live and it was sooooooo awesome!
Nearly July now hope u had a good time ! Hope to see them one day in the UK
cake never gets old

Great concert!
Just saw this show last night at Megacorp in Newport Kentucky. Was fantastic.
We were in the 2nd row behind the GA section, great show! And then walked down to the Dresden for after drinks :)
You must have been sitting pretty close to me cause this looks to be shot from about my seat. Excellent job.

Never heard this band before, but the singer sounds like someone doing Karaoke at a bar, which would be quite good if it was true.
So dumb
Your not a monster , if someone loves you. I don't even want icing on my cake. So yummy in my tummy.
* you're

@@Susan-r1s I'm not sure what you mean by that. I was pointing out that you should have written "you're" as in "you are".

I post a beautiful original thought, and ewe( as in female sheep), you correct my spelling.
Claypool on the skins?
Algún dia vendran a Argentina? Ojala
Why didn't they play War Pigs
No me gusta que el cantante cambia bastante el tempo en vivo
The band looks like they are just getting paid
What a waste: poor audio and video. Delete it.
Geez this band sucks bug time.
