  • Shaun the Gotland Ram started acting off. He is normally very rowdy and he didn't get up for grain. He did have leaky wet eyes (clear) but going in to wrangle him isn't very fun if it's for no reason.
I checked FAMACHA (red/dark pink is healthy, white or light pink is concerning) and checked temp. High temp of 106.1. I treated him with LA200 (Oxytetracycline) and he responded well.
Sorry for my terrible video and edit skills but the info is there! Please ask if you have any questions about what I did or how I diagnose and treat sick livestock.

@@chickenbobickin1424 You mentioned you are in the PNW, I keep a few sheep on North Whidbey Island but mostly process them. If you ever have any sheep you're looking to 'get rid of', I can put them to good use, any condition or age. Could I have some way to keep in contact with you?

@@brothertyler we have Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok under Brushprairiefarms :) occasionally we have some sheep to place but oftentimes we butcher our extras. I run a local 'farm to table' group for our community but I'm in contact with producers all over the northwest. We are in southwest Washington

This video was full of great info! I searched it because I noticed my ewe has labored breathing at times, with slight nasal discharge, but other than that she’s eating very well and acting normal, should I be concerned?

Forgot to add she is a lactating ewe with two lambs at about 5 weeks old

And also are the meds you gave him available over the counter?

I have a newly purchased lamb with a cough. Born 1/4/2020. His mother had no milk, he is a bottle baby. Do you have any advice?

Hi! Have you taken their temperature? How old is the lamb?

@@chickenbobickin1424 Hi, yes his temp is 103, and he coughs after he drinks his milk. He was born on 1/4/2020. He is small for his age. I bought another lamb that was born 12/24/2019 and she is twice the size. The woman who sold him to me said that he always had a cough after drinking, but I just don't like the sound of it. I ordered the LA200 and the b vitamins you used on your sheep, but they won't be here for a few days I fear. He is so sweet, a little subdued, but curious.

He is 2 months, under 20 lbs. Oxford cross. He nibbles hay, eats creep feed a little. I have them in the barn with a heat lamp.

Update: Happy news. My husband gave him 1 ml of LA-200. He was bright and shining by the next day. He is eager to drink his bottle, is acting like a regular lamb and has gained 3 lbs. Thank you so much for your help.
