A little tip from a scuba instructor. Wear your dive knife on the inside of your lower leg. I have witnessed divers weight belts slide down their body and hanging up behind the handle of the knife, effectively preventing the diver from using their legs. Mostly on men with no hips! Enjoy your adventures guys!
That makes a lot of sense, and definitely the type of thing that one doesn't think of until they've seen it happen, so thank you! The knife will be worn differently from hereon.
@patrickandmichaela we went to some places after this (coming up soon 😄) where they were a HUGE problem and clearly decimating the other marine life but weren't legal to spear there, which is wild! I think because they're comparatively easy to spear compared to a lot of other fish, and not the biggest, people tend not to target them, unfortunately.
@cakeytea thank you, and isn't it just abysmal! It didn't end up being filmed, but a day or two later, my other ear started hurting as well... both ears were infected, and I was *miserable* 😄 A good course of oral antibiotics and antibiotic ear drops saved the day. But I hope to never feel that way again.
Looks like you might need some more weight. Should not need to expend too much energy going down, will help with longer dives and more movement control. Anything to get more of them pests
We laugh about this but I am *so bouyant* 😄 I added a few weights but yes, you're absolutely right, through the footage it looks like I still need another! I could have just floated my way across the Atlantic without the boat at this rate. We will keep hunting them for sure. And hope to encourage others to do so as well.
Absolutely love your vids!!! You guys are so amazing, down to earth and real!!! Keep them coming!!! Loving it!!!

@shanejamison6792 it's really nice getting such lovely comments, so thank you 😊 There's plenty more to come yet!

Great job spearing some lion fish! They are such a problem, so really can't spear too many! ⛵🐟
