I forgot to start playing after his intro to “glorious fountain” and Allan Ramsay the BM shouted at me but I was too busy listening n learning from a NATURAL legend. It was worthy of a shouting at n my father repaired David’s cornet over night as he was sop player and a coppersmith and David thanking him profusely next day. I’ve met davids daughter at paisley recently n what a credit she seems to be.... as my mentor George Brown used to say n I STILL believe in in SA terms... “the best for the highest”.... I’d LOVE THE CHANCE. To play with David at parkhead in Scotland as they are trying to get back in feet after a fantastic past as an SA band and his influence n impact would mean the world to us.... I’ll pay his flight n accommodation if needed to get “bums on seats” but do your thing PLEASE n ask him to come up for a night. We will get a contest band to accompany him if needed???? And now Josiah (Alicia's son) is bringing so much joy to us all.
