Funny Glen, I've liked that watch for a long time, but originally when they had the ETA with HH prices, I was put off. Now with the Chopard 01.01, it looks like a solid deal. Take care, Bill

If I were asked "what are you missing" my answer would be a Breguet. I love the history behind that brand. Its possible I could switch my speedmaster out for a type xx but then thats also got a great story.

I had the Brequet TXX with the stainless bracelet. It was one of the nicest bracelets I've seen. I liked it but don't miss chronographs when they are gone. Still into GMT's with Power Reserve. If I recall correctly mine came from Capetown. The Tonda Metrographe is very appealing ... and price isn't a killer. Cheers.

The dial is beautiful, I love the eight (8) configuration of 2 of the sub-dials, but most of all I love the bracelet. I can't stop staring at it. The contrast between the titanium center links and the polished steel outer links is truly mesmerizing.
I can't thank you enough for exposing me to Parmigiani. Before this watch, my Rolex Explorer and my Grand Seiko "Snowflake" were my 2 luxury watches, I love them both, but this Parmigiani is on another level.

John, I like Agenhor because of the quality, innovation and integrity of the work by Jean-Marc Wiederrecht. He was the first watchmaker ever in the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève to be named "Watchmaker of the Year" even though he did not have a watch company or had created a completed movement (at the time) ... he made different complications for other brands, many of whom won Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève prizes due to his work. Hi Tim, going to your local AD for the WG Smurf? You're right about precious metals going nuts, and it's really kicking up the price of watches in gold and platinum. Of the best bargains you mentioned, I'm not too sure about 'HushHush.' Apparently, they copy a watch ad for sale and then try and negotiate their cut if a client wants a particular watch through them. I tracked down their location in London, and found that they were not listed as a tenant. They are on my "Be careful" list. Fylke, I did an analysis of the Rolex buy/sell matrix and found that every time you sell a Rolex (unless it's special) it costs the seller about 25%-4 transactions and you're out 100%; so while, that's probably better than most, very few sells (and absolutely no trade-ins) will return much nearer the purchase price. I recently sold my vintage (1968) gold Patek Philippe and did a little better than breaking even; so very few do much better than you did. I try and buy as low as possible with no intention of re-sale to get watches I want in my collection. Take care, Bill
