I used to think of events in my life in the very similar way like Benjamin Button did. It gives me chills when I realize how every factor of life accumulates and meet at one point.
Benjamin KB. Lee yep I was hit and run down on a zebra crossing 22 years ago bastards never stopped I often wonder why?? my tibea bone came out I got a metal plate and a scar to remind me. a reminder of living!
There is not a moment i don't think about events in my life the same way depicted in this scene. "IF". I have no words to describe these little details that could have otherwise altered my entire life.
The real question is how many people have you killed because of the ripple effect of your decisions? That door you didn't hold open, that morning you called in work even though you weren't sick, that letter you never wrote...
QiLLAH Mmmm...Interesting question. And I think it’s more about how we were with or handled what we did know. How are we in this moment? Are we even paying attention? And can we accept that we simply don’t have control over certain aspects of our destiny and certainly no one else’s. Will the taxi driver allow for grief that reflects and releases guilt, or will he get lost in guilt which can inhibit his grieving? - Just processing my point out loud :) - Thanks for your question.
Olivia Po I thought the same thing when I saw this scene. lol If she had just stopped talking to her friend and looked both ways before crossing that street, she could have avoided that car whether he was distracted or not. lol
This scene just kind of reminds me that luck really does decide a lot of things in one's life, as sad as it is to say. Very few things truly are under your direct control (like choosing to associate with bad people or getting involved with a stalker online that could get you in danger or choosing not to that could keep you out of danger with them). Like poor Daisy here, if any one little thing had gone differently, she would've been fine and been able to keep dancing. I just find it sad how much things like that really ruin peoples' lives when they could've easily just have never happened at all, and I hate it honestly. It feels unfair, but that's life in general for you.
I got into a terrible bicycle accident about four months ago and broke a bone in my knee.... When the "What ifs" enter my head, I am reminded of this scene.... It is really infuriating to think that just one small detail could have made all the difference. But what can you do, that's life....
I first notice this scene just 100% accidentally on TV but deeply attracted by it. Now I have watched the entire movie again and again and again. It is said that this fabulous scene was not created by the author Fitzgerald but by the movie director. And nothing can tell exactly my appreciation for such an intriguing creation.
Or maybe in that specific moment , she wanted to dance because she was happy. I mean, do we control ourselves all the time? we can get extreme emotions and have automatic reactions to them.
my mind come back to this scene because this is truly how things happened... my dog died from a uterus infection, and if only one thing ha been different... she would still be alive... if the money i was waiting for to remove her uterus came 2 weeks early, if my mom havent cried wolf so many times saying that she tought the dog was sick when she wasnt, if i wasnt so afraid of asking for my dad to lend me some money, if i had comeback home 1 day earlier, if the doctor have told me earlier that she needed an operation, if any of those things were different, my baby would still be alive... when something realy bad happens, it is a serious of destiny events that work around to make it happen... it is sad and tragic, but it is reality...
The single greatest thing about this scene is that we DON'T need to see the accident. We know what's coming. That's how you tell a story, even in visual form. It's fantastic!
this is sadly so true,. even just one single little mistake could eventually lead to a very fatal consequences & even destroy your life completely.. that's why reality is very limiting & depressing..
Niki Wonoto It doesn’t have to be a mistake for there to be an accidental collision between a few people in a world of millions. Deciding to delay or leave early or visiting a new place, staying at home or anything...
You can debate until the end of time if events like that are predetermined or if there is no such thing as destiny/fate. Honestly I could be convinced either way because there's no real way to disprove either theory lol
I think everything is predetermined, basically when you have all the initial conditions aka all variables set, all outputs from them will always be the same.
Mmmm, I agree and these types of things are happening consistently since we live in a world with others. I did figure out one day that the cars that kept cutting me off at one point while driving through a city, absolutely helped me not be the car with was hit by a truck ahead. It’s even possible the first person who cut me off was hit, and I hope all involved are well!
The Elephant In The Room: I'm curious as to how did Benjamin Button know all the events of all these people at the time of the exact events and incidents that resulted in a way that eluded straight to the fact that Daisy would have her leg crushed....I mean Whaaaat!!!
He did not necessarily know. While he was sitting on the chair he might have imagined how it all went. After all, it is irrelevant as long as every single factor has led to the accident and there were surely other ones as well. It is the sad word known as "destiny" that is, not as Benjamin's age, irreversible.
It’s more so a moment in the film that’s narration the characters don’t hear. It’s just an interesting and visual way to say “she’ll never dance again” ties into the themes of the film or people not truly living their lives, rushing and not being present in the moment etc.
You didn't get the point of the movie. He is actually God who went to Earth in the form of a man. But he thought it'd be cooler to be born old and get younger as time passes to see what happens.
the narration is made after his death, is like, him in heaven narrating his story, by that point, he would have know as he would have been in paradise and would be able to get knoledge about it
The thing is the world doesn't operate on maybes we operate in the present. There was no maybe because all those factors lead to that inevitable outcomes
@@simplez4ck LIFE is a deterministic story. "But, life being what it is; a series of intersecting lives and incidents' out of anyone's control..." Well, out of anyone's but God's control, anyway

Yes, this... It’s everyday and every moment isn’t it? So many opportunities to connect with ourselves and learn more about who we are. So many ops to practice compassion for self and others as we live our lives. And Yay, for those of us who like to take the long way home some times, we curious and internally and externally adventurous ones, have a particular kind of a ride around the edges and into the depths of this generous and often glorious experience we call life. May all beings live fully into the capacities of all they are, with grace and a good amount of cheer! 🙏🏾❤️

And how many lives youve saved?
There's actually a phenomena called the Butterfly Effect that describes what you're talking about.
Do you eat success for breakfast?
As time progresses the weight of your actions stack more and more
This one scene, explains, pretty much; what life is.
Or Daisy could've just NOT pirouette down the road lol
yeap.
Indeed XD
Shut up
Yes but maybe then she would have not seen the car. There is always something we will do and not see the consequences
Oh wow… you’re right 🫣 lol
The editing in this scene is impeccable. David Fincher needs to use the Kirk Baxter/Angus Wall duo for every movie he makes.
this is a beautiful way to tell a story

Or, you know, maybe she wouldn't have been hit if she didn't do a pirouette in the middle of the fucking street.
dat chaos theory tho
That said, every single event that happens has a long string of events leading up to it but that pirouette was her "end of rine"

But there is always a time when you are over-confident, and 90 percent of times nothing happens, and eventually you always make a mistake.
Olivia Po 😂😂
No, it's just simple - don't dance in front of a taxi!!! If she didn't dance all over the place, she would've been ok.
But maybe at that exact moment, she wanted to dance.
the way he just broke it down, makes sense. but oh well. no buttons for her.
She was very a carefree young lady, she didn’t even care for Benjamin at the time either
Maybe this was before mothers taught their children "look both ways before crossing the road."
