Hi Sir... I have a doubt. While HT side cable calculation, we shall select its cross section on the basis of short circuit I. e.KA rating. Why it is so ? I mean why in case of HT side cables only... Why not in case of LT side cables ?
See....Fault MVA = 1.732 × System Voltage × Fault Current......In case of LV, system voltage is very less compared to HV Sytem.....Hence Fault MVA is less significant in LV System.....Also LV Cable is capable of carrying the Fault MVA.....Since the Fault MVA is of Low value.....Hope it clarifies your doubt
