    Two questions here
    1. what if the fault current is 50ka, we need to consider a= sqrtt*Ish/k, then cable size increases
    2. Secondly while doing the calculation for resistance and reactance you directly took the value but length is 200m so we need to calculate r & x for 200m since value in the catalogue is ohm/km
    Kindly clarify please

    If cables having more no of bends whether it will affect on current carrying capacity?

    • @electrical-sajid
      @electrical-sajid  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bends do not actually affect the current carrying capacity.
      It will lead to mechanical stress on the cable, I.e. it can get heated at the bending points or even lessen its life.
      Losses in cable may increase.

    So we need to divide the R and X for 200m know? What's ur suggestion?

    Hi, thanks for your video. I have a question. How can I calculate the cable size between a 175kW ABB inverter and a 2640kVA substation? The length of the cable should be 120 m and the soil thermal resistivity coefficient for that area is 1,5 (m*K/W).
    Also, there are four such a cables in one tranche and I need to find out the minimal distance between the cables in the tranche.
    I watched your video and I managed to calculate a 240mm cable but not sure if I did it right. Please give me your comments.

    • @electrical-sajid
      @electrical-sajid  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hello Mathias, yes I can say that your cable size is suitable. for the distance between the cable refer the data datasheet. consider almost 2xDiamater of cable distance between each cable sideways.

    • @mathiasnicola254
      @mathiasnicola254 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@electrical-sajid Thank you. That was very helpful! I guess that this required distance obeys to avoid interference of each cable magnetic field among, other reasons.

    Why you have considered FLC as 139 A when the actual current after derating, the cable has to carry current is 142A?

    • @electrical-sajid
      @electrical-sajid  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Full load current is 139A. The maximum current that will flow is 139A.
      142A is the capacity of the cable. It means that your cable capacity should be atleast 142A, after laying and considering the derating factor it can carry 139A
